Dont Overlook The adidas ZX Flux ADV Virtue

adidas ZX Flux ADV Virtue 1 adidas ZX Flux ADV Virtue 2 adidas ZX Flux ADV Virtue 3

The adidas ZX Flux ADV Virtue is the latest and possible greatest rendition of the adidas ZX Flux line. That’s a pretty bold statement to say, but give me a second to explain why!

Not only does the adidas ZX Flux ADV Virtue have a very modern and sleek aesthetic, but it also comes dressed in a Primeknit upper that comes in a nice and bold pattern. The geometric motif gives the shoe a dope two-toned look. The Black base is complimented nicely by the hits of White and Grey placed all over the shoe. Additional Black can be seen on the entire sole, heel counter, sock-lining, laces and branding on the heel. Ladies, this model was made exclusively for you, let us know what you think.

Author’s Take

Never been much of a ZX Flux fan, but if these women’s shoes come in my size, I’d be more than willing to try on a pair.

The adidas D Rose 7 Releases In Less Than A Month

New York Knick (damn, that sounds weird to type), is getting ready to release his 7th signature shoe with adidas. Scheduled to drop next month, let’s get a look at this adidas D Rose 7 coming in Grey and White.

The adidas D Rose 7 will be debuting in a Grey and White colorway. Keeping things neutral this time around, it’s only a matter of time before the Blue and Orange colored sneakers begin to release. Vital features on the D Rose 7 include the Engineered Mesh upper, the TPU heel plate, the molded collar, the herringbone traction on the ousole and of course the full-length Boost cushioning. Releasing August 13th for $140, who’s ready to pick up a pair?

Author’s Take

I really like what I’ve see so far from D Rose 7. The Boost, the overall design, the price, it’s all good. I’m looking forward to trying these on.

NBA Superstars Appear On adidas Dad Hats

The latest fashion trend hitting the streets is the “dad hat”. Many different brands and companies are getting in on the trend and releasing their own dad hats. The latest brand to do so is none other than adidas. They put their own spin on the dad hat and design them by using the faces of some of the best superstars of the NBA.

Players such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant appear on the front of the hat, whole the team logo can be seen on the side. None of the players on the hats are adidas athletes, but that’s okay since adidas is still the official apparel supplier for the NBA. Priced at $22, these hats are selling out pretty quick. If you’re looking to get a pair, make sure you do so quick because I don’t see these lasting long.

Tomorrow we’ll be seeing the arrival of the adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged in the all-black colorway that even includes a new blacked out Boost midsole. It’ll probably be pretty difficult to get your hands on a pair since it’ll be the first adidas sneaker that will release with colored Boost.

If you don’t want to go through the hassle of camping out or waiting online to for an hour to see if you get through, then there is another Triple Black adidas sneaker that is readily available. Adidas has given the adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit the Triple Black treatment this Summer as seen in the images above. In addition to the Primeknit upper we also see suede detailing on the side panel cages. The signature rugged Tubular outsole has also been blacked out.

You can grab a pair now at select adidas retailers for $140.

Author’s Take

I like the overall look of the Tubular Nova Primeknit more than the Uncaged Ultra Boost. The only thing I wish they would have added was a Boost midsole. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Buy, Pass, Wait: adidas NMD White, Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green

If you’re reading this, chances are you didn’t cop the adidas NMD White or NMD City Sock. Because if you did manage to get on or the other, you’d be doing cartwheels of joy right now on the streets while people look at you funny for not playing Pokemon Go instead. And while you might be happy to get one of the hyped NMD releases today, we here at the Kicks On Fire staff somehow managed to come to the agreement that neither pair is all its cracked up to be. Awesome kicks to be sure, but they could be better. Find out what we’re talking about in this edition of Buy, Pass, Wait.

adidas NMD Vintage White

Packer
Packer

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (PASS) I actually love the shoes and would definitely be open to having a pair, but I’d be afraid to wear them for fear of messing them up to the point where I can’t clean them. And no, I don’t do the “spray (insert product here)” because I don’t like having the qualifier of you need to do something to a shoe before you can enjoy wearing them and having to remind myself that I need to do this thing in order to wear them each time. Yes, I’m old, get off my lawn.

Renz Ofiaza, News: (BUY) I really wanted the first one in black, so I’ll have to settle with this pair. I’m biased towards the design overall anyway.

Juan Carrillo, News: (PASS) I once felt like I “needed” a handful of pairs of the adidas NMD. Over time, I’ve gotten off of the hype train. Don’t get me wrong, they’re good looking shoes, and they’re probably really comfortable but I just don’t view them like I once did. This pair is clean, but very high maintenance due to the all-White upper. For those two reasons, I won’t be picking up a pair.

Andres Carrillo, News: (PASS) I still haven’t picked up a pair of NMDs and I don’t plan on this being my first. White mesh/Primeknit/Flyknit just isn’t my thing.

adidas NMD City Sock

Packer
Packer

EIC Juan: (PASS) I already have the original NMD and a few other colorways that look too similar to this. I would like to own a pair, but just in a different colorway.

Renz: (BUY) I like the chukka-esque profile and in terms of its appeal, I really like the clean design. The colorway is versatile as well and to me, it’s a nice stylish pair for everyday wear.

News Juan: (PASS) I’m not really getting much for that $170 price tag. It’s basically a sock sitting on top of a Boost midsole. I need a little more depth, man. I’m sure it will do well in the market, but it’s not a shoe I see myself picking up.

Andres: (PASS) I try to like the City Sock version of the NMD but I just can’t do the no laces look. Maybe if it were a low-top but even then I don’t think I’d buy a pair.

Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green

Nike
Nike

EIC Juan: (WAIT) It probably won’t sell out because 14s are so hit and miss with the community so I can see myself buying a pair when they drop in price. Considering these are the last Jordans that MJ himself wore during his final campaign for the Chicago Bulls there would be more fuss for them beyond the Last Shot colorway but that hasn’t been the case.

Renz: (WAIT) I’m not really fond of the silhouette, but, this colorway is a classic. For a discount, I’d consider purchasing, but, I’m sure other die-hard fanatics are happy to see it once again.

News Juan: (WAIT) I’ve grown to really like the 14s This pair is very versatile since it’s simply a White and Black sneaker. I doubt the shoe will sell out, which is why I’m going to wait and see if i can get them at a lower price.

Andres: (PASS) Fans of the Air Jordan 14 must be extremely happy to see this OG colorway finally get the retro treatment. There’s only a couple of colorways of the 14 that I would consider buying and this isn’t one of them.

Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh White

Nike
Nike

EIC Juan: (PASS) Hey, at least I can clean these unlike the NMDs. But these are a pass for me because I’m still sad I did not cop the Arctic Orange from a few weeks back. I can’t wait to see Jordan Brand really take this concept to its logical conclusion and release the OG colorways like Black/Red, Royal and Chicago and in the high-cut style.

Renz: (BUY) I’m all for minimalist/clean designs and I’m biased towards this pair. In all-white, it’s even more appealing, plus it just exudes stylish appeal.

News Juan: (PASS) The Air Jordan 1 No Swoosh has become the number 1 shoe that I constantly change my opinion on. One day I like it’s simplicity, the next day I think it’s too plain. Does that even make any sense? As of right now, I like the shoe, just not in this colorway. It’s a pass for me.

Andres: (PASS) When I first saw this “Swooshless” Air Jordan 1 I wasn’t really a fan, but as time passed I began to like the olive colorway that released earlier this year. If I were to pick up any colorway (that has released so far) it would be the olive pair, just not feeling this all-white version.

adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged With Color Boost

EIC Juan: (GOT ‘EM) Uncaged and Color Boost are some of the most interesting sneaker hacks of the past several years and the fact that adidas legitimized it by doing both in one pair shows you that the three stripes are listening to their consumers. That being said, I still prefer the OG styling with the cage and I wish that the Color Boost was better implemented (i.e. the whole sole was colored, not just the mid)

Renz: (BUY) The black colorway just because it’s the most versatile and durable pair from the three and I wouldn’t mind if it’ll ever get dirty.

News Juan: (WAIT) I really like the colored Boost on the shoe, but I’m still not sold on the actual shoe. I need to try them on before I make my final judgement. Until then, I’m going to continue to pass on them.

Andres: (PASS) It’s a fact that any sneaker that adidas releases with Boost gets lots of attention. I’m a fan of the original Ultra Boost, but not this Uncaged version. I just feel like its incomplete. Almost like a custom that wasn’t finished. I’m still waiting for adidas to make an Ultra Boost with colored midsoles. Hopefully soon.

adidas Made Dad Hats Of LeBron, Steph, KD, and Kobe

The “dad hat” trend hasn’t passed yet, and now adidas even gets on the norm-core style with NBA caps with caricature portraits of the NBA’s biggest stars including Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. Of course, adidas has the official license with the NBA, so producing hats of these non-adidas sponsored is totally legit. But you can assume Under Armour and Nike, who each of these players are in contract with, can’t be all that happy with adidas profiting off of their likenesses. Maybe Nike can get them back when they take over the NBA license beginning in the 2017-18 season. Either way, you can pick up your favorite players dad hat now at select adidas retailers, including Rock City Kicks.

A Bred-Inspired adidas NMD Will Be Releasing Too

adidas NMD adidas NMD 1 adidas NMD 2 adidas NMD 3 adidas NMD 4 adidas NMD 5 adidas NMD 6

More colorways of the popular adidas NMD are to be expected, as the forthcoming iteration is showcased in a classic black/white/red color scheme.

The favorable makeup is essentially treated in black across its sleek mesh upper, while the traditional boost sole unit is rendered in pristine white. Punctuating the two-tone composition are bright hits of red utilized for its signature EVA plugs prominently seen across its midsole.

All adhered atop a black continental rubber outsole to top it all off, you can expect to find this pair at select adidas stockists in the coming weeks ahead.

Stay tuned for updates.

Author’s Take

It was only a matter of time before a colorway like this would release. I like it but, I’m biased towards the silhouette in general.

A Wool-Constructed adidas NMD Is Releasing

While in terms of colorway, it’s similar to this recently featured pair, but, the adidas NMD is unveiled in another variation that dons a new type of fabrication that’s suited for the colder months ahead.

Straying from its usual primeknit and mesh build, this particular take has been revamped with an all-wool construction instead. Essentially offering sufficient warmth throughout the foot in cold days, the model is also detailed with a ribbed sock-like collar and the signature three-stripe branding seamlessly applied on the side panels.

Finished off with a contrasting white boost sole unit and distinctive EVA inserts, adidas stockists overseas have this pair listed for availability on September 9th.

Stay tuned for its arrival stateside.

Author’s Take

I’m not that surprised that they’ve already made a pair. I was curious on what other materials would be utilized. This offering really solid and should garner the attention it deserves.

Author’s Take

I’m a fan of this silhouette and all for monochromatic iterations in general. These offerings are solid and die-hard fanatics of the model should be a bit excited of return.

Derrick Rose Is In NY, But adidas Is Still Releasing Chicago-Inspired Shoes

Derrick Rose might have relocated to New York, but that doesn’t mean that the former MVP point guard won’t pay homage to his hometown of Chicago along the way. He switched his number from 1 to 25 in honor of Simeon High School alumni Benji Wilson who tragically was murdered before he could make it to the NBA. Rose also wore the number while he was a top recruit at Semion High himself. The adidas D Rose 773 V is a handful of a name, but the silhouette showcases the three stripe’s commitment to the D Rose line thanks to an array of interesting panels, bolstered mesh, and a stylish all-red colorway to turn heads that fits right in with Rose’s former team. Check out more detailed photos below and expect U.S. stores to stock this pair in the near future.

The debut of colored Boost hits select adidas retailers this Saturday, July 16th in limited quantities for $200 each.
