adidas Unveils NCAA PEs Of The Crazylight Boost 2.5 and D Lillard 2 For March Madness
By SoleInsider
adidas Hoops is gearing up for March Madness season by giving some of their biggest schools some awesome new uniform options complete with a selection of adidas Crazylight Boost 2.5 and adidas D Lillard 2 PEs. March is one of the best months to be a basketball fan, and the three stripes are helping their squads look their best going into the big dance with bold new designs and a heavy dose of their favorite Primeknit construction throughout some viable footwear selections. The March Madness collection includes programs ranging from Arizona State University, Indiana University, University of Kansas, University of Miami, Mississippi State University, NC State University, University of Nebraska, Texas A&M, University of Wisconsin, and UCLA. Check out a full look at the upcoming uniforms before they hit the court with a brief preview of some great PEs after the break.
Here’s a hypothetical question for everybody: If you could own one pair of adidas sneakers that were either designed or inspired by a musical artist, which one would you go with? My guess is that most people would probably pick any of the Yeezys by Kanye West, but I already have a pair. If they’re not feeling the Yeezys, maybe they go with one of Pusha T’s EQT Running Support collabs. How about a signed pair of Snoop Dogg cleats? I’m good with that too.
So if I have all of those kicks already, what else is there? Well, there’s the Big Sean Detroit Players and while that’s a viable option, I would have to go with a pair that is quite limited but also appropriate considering how much I loved this particular artist’s music during my formative years. In all honesty, even if I didn’t have any of the sneakers I already mentioned, I would still pick this pair of “trainers” over everything, which is the British term for kicks. In this edition of Sneaker Grails, let’s take a look back at the adidas NG-72, which are former Oasis member Noel Gallagher’s “player exclusive” kicks.
“A big, big bag full of money, two VIP tickets to the World Cup Final and they said I could endorse my own adidas shoes.” – Noel Gallagher and how he ended up with an adidas PE
In maybe not the most shocking news in the world, there was a time when Noel Gallagher was totally addicted to drugs (considering he wrote “Champagne Supernova”, I’ll just leave it at that). When he quit the habit in 1998, he found a new fix in the form of trainers. Considering he was a pretty rich guy and Oasis was at the peak of their popularity during that time, getting sneakers was no problem for the songwriter and occasional singer for the band. He started buying multiple adidas vintage trainers and hiding them in all sorts of nooks and crannies so that his wife wouldn’t see them. He has since cut his collection down to a more reasonable number, but the itch is still there. See? Celebrities are just like us ordinary sneakerheads. They have that burning desire to accumulate as many pairs as possible, lose their mind, cut their losses and then do it all over again.
Anyways, in 2010, adidas Originals tapped Gallagher and Ian Brown to participate in a series of ads for the World Cup. It was there the relationship between the musician and his favorite brand started in an official capacity and a year later, they released the NG-72. Limited to only 200 pairs in the world and sold only in London and Berlin to coincide with the release of his 2011 album Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, the shoe’s trainer’s signature feature are Noel’s picture plastered on the tongue on the shoe with the “Endorsed By” box in the same style as the adidas Stan Smith and his initials can be found on the laces and the heel tab. A quick Google search will reveal that while many of the shoes did end up getting sold, Gallagher seemed to have quite the stash for himself and has ended up donating many of them to various UK charities complete with an autograph.
With only 200 pairs in existence, finding any of these is going to be a pain and even then, the price that I would have to pay to convince a Gallagher/Oasis superfan to let go of them is probably unreasonable. Maybe my best chance is to tweet Liam Gallagher and ask him if he has a pair and hope he sends them my way out of spite for his brother. Ah well, don’t look back in anger, except for maybe this one time…

adidas Takes NMD To New Heights With The City Sock
By SoleInsider
We’ll start out by stating the obvious – a shoe called a “City Sock” built with Primeknit or any sort of soft, knit upper will draw immediate comparisons to Nike’s Sock Dart, a sneaker that was created a decade ago, returned with a vengeance in late 2014, and is already exploring new routes with Tech Fleece uppers. While going the mid-top Chukka-style route seemed natural for adidas NMD, calling it the City Sock seems a bit provoking, but it’s still an attractive approach that comes right as the NMD hype is starting to explode. This upcoming black/blue pair opts for a tonal black upper with no three-stripe markings of any kind, except for the literal branding on the heel-tab. And like the NMD Runners, we expect several colorways of the City Sock to release somewhere down the line. Peep the high-res photos just below and give us your thoughts on the shoe design and name, and stay tuned for release info for this casual/fashion style.
Cork Soles Appear On The adidas Originals Stan Smith
By SoleInsider
Here’s something you don’t see every day, an adidas Originals Stan Smith with a cork midsole. Yup, adidas just went there. The shoe’s upper is as normal as it comes with it’s all-white leather construction and black suede accents on the heel tab region of the shoe. Perforations on the side panels act as the Three Stripe branding, while the trefoil branding can be seen on the heel of the shoe. A set of white laces and eyelets also appear on the upper. The fun part of the shoe is found on the sole unit as it comes made entirely out of a cork construction. Said to be a women’s release, you can expect this version of the Stan Smith to begin arriving at select retailers in the near future.

New Colorways Of The adidas Springblade Are On The Way
By SoleInsider
The adidas Springblade running silhouette is back in a couple of new color variations for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. Fans of the adidas Springblade will be happy to hear that the adidas is planning on releasing new colorways for the upcoming Spring/Summer season. The new colorways will come constructed out of a mesh upper to help with the breathability of the shoe. Of course, the most noticeable feature lies in the blade design placed under the shoe. The proprietary polymer blades will come in contrasting colorways that help offset the look of the upper. Available in both mens? Solyce and women?s Nanaya models, you’ll be able to pick up either pair for $205 at select retailers in the near future.
I’ve always wondered how these felt on your feet. I always thought they would break, but I’ve seen plenty of YouTube videos to know that these are pretty sturdy.

The adidas ZX Flux Plus Olive Is Looking Pretty Clean
By SoleInsider
The adidas ZX Flux Plus keeps the releases coming and this time around it opts to give its upper a tonal look that has the shoe covered in a predominantly all-olive colored upper. The subtle look of the shoe paired up with the neutral color makes the shoe a versatile offering.
The shoe comes constructed out of a sock-like neoprene Olive colored upper that has a lacing system that’s very similar to the Y-3 Retro Boost. Another feature on the upper is the white heel cage that adds a nice contrast to the shoe and also manages to blend right in with the white sole unit found below. The rear end of the shoe comes with 3 horizontal that surely represent the adidas Three Stripe branding on the shoe. Available now for $110, who’s looking to pick up a pair?
I’m a sucker for Olive colored sneakers. I may not be a huge fan of the model, but when I see it in this colorway it kind of makes me want to own a pair. Good looking shoe, at least in this colorway.

Cork-laden sneakers have been a hit or miss affair. LeBron’s signature line has often utilized the material during off-season NSW releases, and the Nike Air Max 95 even featured an awesome cork aesthetic – it just came with some unwanted squeaking when walking. adidas Originals is now using the material, as this clean white premium leather rendition of the classic adidas Stan Smith utilizes cork tooling on the midsole for an interesting twist. This women’s exclusive also manages a premium black suede heel tab for some depth. Are you feeling this colorway? Check out more below.
The adidas NMD made its debut only a couple of months ago, but adidas is not wasting any time in creating and unveiling new versions of the shoe. Today we get our first look at what adidas is calling the adidas NMD City Sock PK.
This version of the NMD comes in a mid-top build done out of a Primeknit construction. The major difference between the original NMD release and this pair is the fact that this pair is more of a mid-top opposed to the low-top look in the first pair. The other major difference is that this shoe has more of a stripped down look being that the laces and heel cage are removed from the shoe. An addition to the shoe comes in the form of the serial number branding found on the medial side of the shoe as well as the branding on the heel pull tab. The sole plugs are still present, while the Boost midsole continues to come in white. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
It’s really just a sock with a Boost sole under it. I need a little bit more than that if I’m going to pay more than $100 which I am assuming that’s what the retail price is going to be.

The adidas Tubular Radial is finally here in that coveted “Fleece” aesthetic previewed not too long ago. Adding the sweatpant-like material to your feet has been a popular trend in the sneaker world, with Nike Sportswear outfitting some of their most coveted current models in Tech Fleece. adidas is answering back with this cool grey fleece look of their own, as the Tubular Radial harkens back to the OG 1993 installment of the Tubular series quite well. The most noticeable retro feature is the overlay, taken directly from the original model. A bolstered suede heel contrasts the marbled fleece tooling throughout to add some depth. Get with us after the break for a better view of the latest Tubular model and pick up this pair from select shops like Premier for $120.
A Hint Of Berry Lands On This New adidas Ultra Boost
By SoleInsider
Earlier in the week we gave you a first look at couple of sample/potential upcoming release colorways of the adidas Ultra Boost. The first featured a white/multicolor upper with a red heel counter and the second was highlighted by chocolate accents.
Now we have another treat for fans of the Ultra Boost with this all-white colorway. In addition to the all-white Primeknit upper we see a berry heel counter that sits atop the all-white BOOST midsole. If it wasn’t for the berry hit on the heel this would look like the all-white pair that was made popular by Kanye West.
There’s a possibility that this Berry heel colorway may be hitting adidas retailers in the future so stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for any updates.
There should have been a lot more “berry” on different areas of the shoe. This just looks like someone took an all-white Ultra Boost and painted the heel counter.
