Pharrell Williams continues to influence the fashion and pop-culture world with his unique approach to design and undoubtedly flawless taste. He’s left his mark on numerous collaborative efforts with adidas Originals throughout the years, his most recent being the adidas NMD “Human Race” offering in a vibrant dash of yellow complete with a new heel cage and bold block letter callouts. There’s good news too: a new red colorway will be releasing this Summer 2016 season. The unique construction on the adidas NMD returns as a vibrant red upper sees ‘Human Race’ text blown up across the mid section in a Footwear White to match the Boost midsole. The Ultra Boost reign continues. adidas has found a groove in their running category thanks to the premium woven style of Primeknit and the endless supply of energy returned to the feet from their Boost creation. Today we get a look at a brand new adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged, the pair that ditched the protective three stripe branded overlay for a lighter, anonymous ride. This particular pair utilizes a new form-fitting Techfit Primeknit upper complete with a sock-like fit around the ankle in a tonal olive green for a casual look perfect for any occasion. About a month ago we gave you a first look at the adidas NMD Olive. Today we have more images of the shoe but these new pictures show that the appearance of the shoe has been tweaked just a bit.

The adidas NMD appears to be made out of a mesh upper. The entire mesh as well as the eyestay, branding and laces come in a tonal Olive colorway. Contrasting hits appear by way of the heel pull tab, pods on the midsole and of course, the White Boost midsole/ Black rubber outsole.  One of the new features shown on these images show that White seam lines appear on the upper instead of the initial Olive lines we saw before. Do these changes make the she look better or worse? Expect these to drop in the near future.

Author’s Take

I really hope the white seam lines aren’t in the final version. If they come with tonal seam lines these may very well be my first pair of NMDs.

You’ve never seen a Stan Smith quite like this before. Let me break it down for you. For starters, adidas removes the laces from the shoe and replaces them with not one, not two, but three velcro straps. Giving the shoe some added boldness is the fact that it comes covered in Red from head to toe. The leather shoe comes with embossed branding on the tongue and heel, while the perforations on the side panels act as the Three Stripes. Obviously, this shoe is not for everybody, but what I want to know is how many of you all have what it takes to pull these off. Coming to a store near you, would you be down to pick up a pair of these?

I don’t mind the color, but when you put it on a sneaker with velcro straps, that’s a little too much for me. If I had a granpa, I’d hook him up with these, but these are too much for me.

If you managed to pick up a pair of the adidas NMD Human Race a few days ago, consider yourself lucky since the shoe sold out almost instantly. There is now way you can pick up a pair today at retail despite the fact that the shows were priced at a hefty $240. Now all you need is the Green pair you see above. Wait, what?

Pharrell recently took to his IG to show off his customized version of the adidas NMD Human Race. This version comes in a tonal Green upper accompanied by the “Hu” branding embroidered on to the shoe. Not sure if it was on purpose or not, but this Human Race logo closely resembles the “Human Element” symbol found on the periodic table. Metal toes on Superstars are no longer considered something “new”. We’ve already seen it done a handful of times over the last several months. This time around adidas rocks the metal toe once more, but it’s looking a bit different than usual. Check it out.

The adidas Originals Superstar Metal Toe Copper is designed to have the toe look like copper in its natural state. The textured toe ends up giving the shoe even more of a raw feel which I’m pretty sure many of you will like. The rest of the shoe comes in a Black leather upper sitting on top of a White sole unit. Black lining, branding and laces complete the shoe. Said to be for the ladies, you’ll be able to get a pair in the near future as they have recently been spotted at select international retailers.

The adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit comes dressed in an all-White Primeknit upper that provides you with sufficient breathability and comfort. Creating minimal contrast is the Light Grey placed on the suede paneling on the sides. The customary sock-like collar and elastic band on the heel round out the main features on the upper. In addition, subtle branding is placed on the rear, while the construction of the lacing cage system also serves as the Three Stripes branding. The adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged craze continues next week as we’ll see the release of yet another new colorway. Unlike the pairs that released last week, this colorway keeps it OG with the white Boost midsoles.

This time around adidas gives the Ultra Boost Uncaged a colorway that would be better suited for the Fall season as Teach Earth (olive green) takes over the Primeknit upper with Black accents landing on the heel counter, the three stripes branding on the toe, and on the rubber outsole. Tonal laces and a white Boost midsole round out the details on this Uncaged Ultra Boost that is scheduled to release on July 27th for $180. Will you cop?

James Harden‘s signature adidas sneaker will release in December of 2016, and we’re finally getting some information about The Beard’s first three stripes offering. Up until now, James has been championing the adidas Crazylight Boost in a number of PE colorways. adidas has announced Project Harden, the first chapter of their collaborative effort with James that features unique glimpses into the co-creation process through virtual reality installations. The first chapter of Project Harden is a glimpse through the world of virtual reality that allows fans to hear directly from James and catch a sneak peek at the future.

Becoming collaborators every season at this point, Japan’s White Mountaineering streetwear label teams up with adidas Originals once again this fall. NMD fanatics will want to take note, because the upcoming collection includes an all-new look for the NMD City Sock designed by the White Mountaineering team. Similar to their NMD R2 previewed at Paris Fashion Week in June, the City Sock also features White Mountaineering-branded stripes sweeping across the top of the shoe, but this time in a “v” shape that points toward the toe. The base features striped Primeknit in black and dark grey, white a dual-branded tongue tag is applied to the top. Get a preview of the upcoming NMD City Sock along with the EQT Support within the sneaker and apparel collection by White Mountaineering, and expect it all to his select adidas Originals retailers on October 16th.
