The adidas Superstar Collaboration Rips Off The YEEZY Boost 350

One of Korea’s premier sneaker shops is the proud recipient of an upcoming collaboration with adidas Originals, and the duo didn’t disappoint. Kasina has linked up with the adidas Superstar, borrowing a prominent feature from the adidas Yeezy 350 Boost for a unique twist on the three stripes lifestyle classic slated to release on August 20th.

This luxurious rendition of the adidas Superstar 80s features a cream leather upper with black and red accents. The three stripe branding on the side panel is simplified with thin black contrast stitching, but the real show-stealing asset is the Yeezy 350 Boost’s rounded suede panel on the medial side. While you’d never confuse a pair of Superstars for a Yeezy Boost, it is cool to see Kasina tinker with the construction in an homage to Kanye’s latest and greatest.

What do you think of the Kasina adidas Superstar? Check out more detailed photos after the break and know that international spots like Solebox will stock this pair on August 20th.

The adidas NMD Is Returning In A Big Way For Back To School

The adidas NMD reigns supreme for Summer 2016. Not only are we looking forward to an upcoming BAPE collaboration, but numerous adidas Originals NMD styles are headed our way on August 18th, just in time for back to school season.

A total of 8 different adidas NMD R1 pairs will arrive at select three stripes retailers as well as the upcoming adidas NMD XR1 previewed earlier today. The adidas NMD “Bred Pack” will be a part of the release slate, while all 8 pairs ditch the Primeknit construction for a simplified breathable mesh and neoprene upper. While the gold, silver and bronze medal iterations consisting as the most standout variations this month, the adidas Ultra Boost receives yet another update, as this particular pair is treated in a combination of grey and pink.

Noted as a women’s exclusive, the popular lifestyle runner’s primeknit upper is essentially colored in a combination of dark grey and light grey, while more light grey hits adorn the three-stripe TPU overlay and heel counter. Pops of pink outlining the heel further pronounce its design, as it all rests atop a crisp white midsole unit and black outsole to round out the profile.

Retailing for $180, you can purchase this pair at select adidas retailers worldwide now, while supplies last.

Glow-in-the-dark Ultra Boosts. Why hasn’t adidas created this yet? Well we can’t answer that, but what we do know is that Dank Customs beat them to the punch.

Dank Custom has taken the popular Ultra Boost and removed the cages as well as painted the entire Primeknit upper mint green. The best thing about the shoe of course is the fact that the entire upper glows in the dark, even the plastic heel counter and laces. This custom Ultra Boost rests atop a white Boost sole that actually does not glow. Check out the images above and let us know your thoughts. If these ever released, would you actually buy them?

Author’s Take

Pretty cool creation but I’m not really big on glow-in-the-dark shoes. I can definitely see adidad creating something like this in the near future though. Maybe for Halloween??

adidas Stan Smith Primeknit In Triple Black

The updated Primeknit construction of the adidas Stan Smith goes none more black with this latest murdered out colorway. Yes indeed, the popular “Triple Black” treatment you’ve seen on pretty much every other sneaker lately is applied to the Stan Smith Primeknit for this version with nothing but black from the tongue logo to the outsole. Wait a second, there’s actually some faint hints of white sewn into the Primeknit’s weave on the quarter panels to break up the all-black look just a bit. Those in need of another Triple Black sneaker can pick up a pair of this Stan Smith now at select adidas Originals retailers like Kith.

Texas A&M Gets Their Own adidas Ultra Boost Colorway

Texas A&M just got treated to their very own edition of the adidas Ultra Boost. Following up the colorway exclusive to the Miami Hurricanes, the college-exclusive Ultra Boost features an all-white Primeknit upper with the heel counter in the school’s shade of maroon. What we previously thought was a shade of “berry” on the heel turns out to be maroon for the Aggies to rep on campus. The shoe actually released via the Texas A&M’s online store, but unfortunately for the rest of us, they’re already sold out. Maybe one of the bros pictured here can sell you their pair on eBay.

The adidas Superstar Gets a Rio Olympics Makeover

The adidas Superstar joins the celebration of this summer’s Olympic games with a special colorway paying homage to the host city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The colorway takes inspiration from the colors found around the seaside city, with a white leather upper, deep blue graphic accents, and a sandy tan speckled sole unit. Surfboard and skateboard illustrations are found on each heel, while a tiled graphic on the right shoe’s insole finishes off the tropical Rio theme. The adidas Superstar “Rio” will release exclusively at the adidas Originals store in Rio de Janeiro.

This adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged With New Branding Will Indeed Be Releasing

adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 1 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 2 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 3 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 4 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 5 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 6 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 7 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 8

Yesterday we took a look at a new multicolor pair of the adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged that people will definitely be hoping to get their hands on.

One of the biggest knocks or things that people feel is missing on the Ultra Boost Uncaged is three stripes branding on the side panels. We know that there’s branding on the toe, but it’s not too obvious and can’t always be seen clearly. This new pair that we see above was initially an exclusive design for Olympic athletes, but it is now beginning to release at retailers.

The adidas Canada website already has them available for sale which means that they’ll hopefully be landing stateside real soon. What are your thoughts on this Uncaged Ultra Boost with more noticeable three stripes branding? Do you like it better than the original version that has the branding on the toe? Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for news on a potential stateside release.

Author’s Take

I like these MUCH better than the original Uncaged Ultra Boost. The three stripes branding makes the shoe look much better in my opinion and I would actually consider buying a pair in the right colorway.

KoF Live: adidas Boost Icon XENO Baseball Cleats (Video)

IMG_8024 IMG_8025

It’s easy to pinpoint when exactly adidas started winning in the minds of sneakerheads. It was around the time of the adidas Ultra Boost launch which combined a Primeknit upper and their popular Boost technology in a unique and stylish package that transcended running shoes and made its way into the fashion world.

With everybody from Kanye West on down wearing them, it was only a matter of time before the three stripes started releasing more shoes in a similar vein. Prior to that, adidas Originals had already been making strides with instant classics like the adidas ZX Flux that soon included XENO iridescent technology. Once adidas Performance started to take cues from Originals, you started to see a little bit more fashionable takes that actually proved the all-too common catch phrase of “you can wear it on ____ and wear it with jeans”.

This crossover has helped change the perception of the brand and now you see XENO and Boost everywhere, even in Baseball where we get the still-rare instance of a shoe/cleat that has a XENO upper and Boost cushioning in the form of the adidas Boost Icon XENO.

We broadcast our unboxing on Facebook Live, so don’t forget to like us on Facebook so you too can be notified of our next unboxing.

adidas Made Derrick Roses New Shoe In Orange Before Trade To Knicks

Derrick Rose has the opportunity for a fresh start in New York. The one-time league MVP showed signs of brilliance last year in the 66 games that he appeared in. Now he has a chance to transform the new-look Knicks into a playoff contender. adidas apparently knew a change was coming, as they debuted his new D Rose 7 model in a vibrant orange before the trade was even announced.

The adidas D Rose 7 Boost is the most advanced performance model in the D Rose signature series yet thanks to the inclusion of Primeknit and full-length Boost. The numerous panels and GeoFit molded collar aim to provide stability and lockdown support. It only helps that the silhouette is as head-turning as any modern basketball release we’ve seen from the three stripes. A herringbone traction pattern allows for quick cuts.

This vibrant “Solar Red” D Rose 7 colorway may be in reference to the Chicago Fire and hints at Derrick’s ability to rise from the ashes, but it will match the Knicks’ uniforms perfectly once the season starts, as the shade is more orange than red. We can’t wait to see D Rose build chemistry with Carmelo, reconnect with Joakim, and legitimately challenge in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division. If all goes according to plan, they’ll do just that.

This adidas D Rose 7 Boost will arrive at retailers on August 11th for $160 USD. For more colorways of the D Rose 7, check out the full release slate here.
