The adidas KB8 III Is Releasing Soon

It looks like adidas is reaching into their archives to pull out the forgotten model from Kobe Bryant’s signature line, the KB8 III. Kobe’s third signature shoe from 1999 often gets lost in the mix of the more well-known KB8 and KB8 II and the polarizing designs of the The Kobe 1 and 2, but adidas hopes to remind everyone of Kobe’s last Feet You Wear model with an upcoming retro release. Today we get a quick preview of the KB 8 III retro in its original home and away Lakers colorways, which should both be a welcome sight for any fan of Kobe’s early days with adidas. No release date has been announced yet, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for further details on the return of Kobe’s third adidas signature model.

adidas NMD City Sock Releasing In A Simple Black And White

New NMD alert. This upcoming adidas NMD City Sock won’t be featured in the 19 adidas NMD releases on August 18th, but we can expect this Primeknit and Boost lifestyle gem to arrive in the near future.

The adidas NMD series has been one of the strongest three stripe offerings outside of the Ultra Boost and Yeezy imprint and it isn’t too hard to see why. The lightweight Primeknit and mesh uppers have provided breathable and comfortable rides while a unique minimalist aesthetic has proven to be as modern a design as any out there. Today’s preview of the NMD City Sock showcases the silhouette at its best thanks to a simple black Primeknit woven upper. The shoe isn’t complete without a full-lenght Boost midsole cushioning system, as black accents and German ‘three stripe’ branding add an international twist.

We’ll keep you updated on this NMD City Sock’s release date as soon as we get more information, but in the meantime check out more detailed photos below.

adidas Originals Unveils The NMD XR1 Triple White

Another day, another adidas NMD Triple White announced to release on August 18th. adidas Originals has kept busy all summer, releasing heat in the patented Primeknit and Boost combination as part of their NMD takeover. While 19 NMD colorways will release on that same day, the adidas NMD XR1 Triple White is the standout that everyone will want, but few will be able to grab.

The adidas NMD XR1 takes the minimalist Primeknit lifestyle gem and adds a protective cage overlay on the side panel for extra lockdown support. The Boost midsole is actually slimmed down for a sleek ride when compared to the original adidas NMD offering while a Primeknit slip-on upper is as comfortable an adidas release as we’ve ever seen.

Additional trefoil branding lands on the leather tongue tag while Japanese katakana spells out ‘The three stripes’ on the heel in a contrasting black. Are you excited about the upcoming NMD Triple White XR1 release? Stay tuned for more release date updates right here on Sneaker News.

adidas Ultra Boost Light Onix

What is it about the adidas Ultra Boost and shades of grey? The three stripe’s most popular running model has appeared in a number of new tonal options and while there’s not quite 50 shades, releases like the “Reflective Grey” and a women’s exclusive with a flashy hint of pink have all further pushed the Ultra Boost into lifestyle territory.

Today’s adidas Ultra Boost Light Onix offering utilizes a subtle light grey upper with a Primeknit gradient on the toebox consisting of an off-white accent. A black heel cage matches the Continental rubberized outsole while that smooth Light Onix hue lands on the protective three stripe branded overlay. There’s still no word yet on a release date but expect this Ultra Boost release to arrive in the near future.

Price is ridiculous, at least for the tax bracket I’m currently. For $200, they’re cool, bit not for $1k plus.

adidas Reclaims Number 2 Spot In North America From Under Armour

In 2014, Under Armour leapfrogged adidas as the #2 sportswear brand in North America. This was a sign that adidas was losing touch with the North American consumer while performance-heavy Under Armour was staying consistent with its product and appealing to the growing fitness boom. Then came Steph Curry, who had a massive influence on UA’s upward growth, and it seemed that adidas would be mired in the #3 spot until a drastic change was made.

More Colorways Of The adidas Tubular Instinct Are Coming

ADIDAS TUBULAR INSTINCT 2 ADIDAS TUBULAR INSTINCT 1 ADIDAS TUBULAR INSTINCT 3 ADIDAS TUBULAR INSTINCT 4 ADIDAS TUBULAR INSTINCT 5 ADIDAS TUBULAR INSTINCT6

The near future will bring us new colorways of adidas’ newest Tubular model, the Tubular Instinct. Adidas Originals is already killing it with silhouettes like the NMD, but they like to offer different options for their fans.

This new version of the Tubular comes with a high top construction and a full suede upper. Knitted/woven detailing then lands on the heel while a semi translucent midsole/outsole keeps that Tubular spirit alive. Two of the newest color options include navy and tan/orange with contrasting midsoles and milky white outsoles. What are your thoughts so far on the adidas Tubular Instinct? Hot or not? Look for both of these colorways to arrive at retailers real soon.

Author’s Take

The design on this Tubular Instinct sort of reminds me of a Supra. That’s not a good thing since I’m not really a fan of Supras. It just looks too bulky.

adidas Put On A Concert With Desiigner And Pusha T To Celebrate Upcoming NMD XR1

adidas is ready for the looming release of their newest NMD model, the NMD XR1. To celebrate the occasion, adidas hosted a special “The Last Encore” event at Tunnel, a legendary establishment in the nightclub circuit from the 80’s and 90’s. The fun-filled night re-created the nightclub atmosphere with a VIP seating area, open bars, beats by DJ Clark Kent, and live performances by Pusha T and Desiigner. The rest of the night was hazy for us (due to the aforementioned open bar), but of all the events that went down last night (UA had a smooth shindig at Concepts and the Nike x KITH pop-up opened up), there’s no question that adi had it popping. Check out the recap below and stay tuned for the NMD XR1 release on August 18th.

Author’s Take

Juan Carrillo, News: I’m curious to see if new technological features are used on the shoe or adidas simply changed the aesthetic of the design. The new look of the Boost may take some time to getting used to, but it “looks” even more comfortable.
