Our First Look At The adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit Emerald

Adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit 1 Adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit 2 Adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit 3

The Tubular Nova was recently blessed with a Primeknit upper. We’ve only seen a couple of colorways drop on the new model, but we’re sure that many more are on the way. Today we get our first look at the adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit Emerald.

The Nova Primeknit comes with the same silhouette and branding as the OG Nova, the only (major) difference comes in the Primeknit construction, thus making the shoe look and feel better. Suede detailing is found in areas such as the Three Stripes branding, while the Primeknit upper comes in an Emerald Blue and Black colorway. Lastly, a textured outsole fitted with the brand’s traditional EVA cushioning is placed below. Set to drop later on this month for $160, are you looking to pick up this colorway?

Author’s Take

Primeknit makes the model look better. This colorway is cool, but I’d rather wait for something a little better than this. Plus, can thie price be like $120? Thanks.

Author’s Take

I’m really diggin’ this new look for the Busenitz. A premium mesh upper AND a Boost midsole? It doesn’t get much better than that. This is one of the first adidas Skateboarding sneakers ever that I’m actually considering buying.

Sneaker Satire: adidas Yeezy Boost Golf Shoes Are A Billion Dollar Idea

With today’s release and no doubt sellout of the Air Jordan 9 Golf sneakerheads around the world are proving a point to brands everywhere that they don’t want the traditional golf shoe; they want the brands to bring the heat. Jordan Brand has a huge start on this – retros with baseball and football cleats are already the norm – and this trend will only continue to grow. But there is one brand out there that can outhype and outsell Jordan Brand should they ever decide to bring their own fire to the mix.

Yup, Yeezys and golf. It’s perfect, right?

Yeezy Golf 1

As we have covered in this space before Nike Golf have been doing all that they can to make the game of golf more appealing to a younger audience.  Through more contemporary apparel and popular silhouettes that makes sense on the golf course and of course Jordan Brand has pitched in with their retros, Nike Golf has the kids. Adidas Golf really hasn’t done much in the youth space thus far, although they have put Boost on some of their golf shoes and based on reviews they are some of the more comfortable and popular golf shoes at the moment. But the weapon that maybe they don’t even realize they have is adidas Originals and a collaboration between the two could prove to be very fruitful.

For the past few years now, Originals has had the magic touch at the three stripes, bringing back classics like the Stan Smith and introducing new or remixed concepts like the ZX Flux and the Tubular to huge success. Kanye West and his Yeezys have played a huge part in this turnaround, but there are so many more untapped places that they can dive into. Whether people like it or not and whether or not he’s a creative genius or a very well-paid figurehead, the Kanye name travels. And I want to see it in golf just for the hell of it.

via Golf on Tumblr
via Golf on Tumblr

Kanye West doesn’t really have that much connection to golf other than this old picture and a random article about Rory McIlroy wanting to play a round with him. But imagine if Adidas gave Mr. West the ability to design his own golf collection with the same amount of freedom he was afforded with his Yeezy apparel. It would be outrageous and different and would probably be banned from more than a few private clubs out there, but that’s half the fun. Can you imagine a bunch of kids dressed up like extra from The Book Of Eli walking around Riviera? What if there’s a secret adidas Yeezy Boost 550 Golf shoe in the works that we don’t know about? Kanye would challenge the authority of golf and in the process introduce the sport to a whole new generation. Yeah, the game will still be exclusive and expensive as hell and more than a few analysts say that golf is dead to the so-called millennial generation, but then again those same people said Kanye wasn’t influential. Nobody knows anything and nobody knows until they give it a shot, basically, so why not make Yeezy Golf a thing?

Picture this scenario for the U.S. Open this June at Oakmont, aka site of the greatest performance in golf history according to Johnny Miller because it was by Johnny Miller: For the last group we’ve got Keegan Bradley wearing the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam Golf as a golf shoe and the co-leader is Jason Day wearing the adidas Yeezy Boost 350… Golf. Such a pairing might not do wonders for the ratings, but Golf and Sneaker Twitter would blow up to mythical proportions. We already saw a little bit of it when Bradley wore some unknown Js for The Maters so one can only imagine the hype and buzz an 11 and a Yeezy on a major Sunday would garner. No disrespect to Jordan Spieth, but that would be the greatest golf shoe pairing of all time. It’s such a crazy idea that maybe this shouldn’t be a Sneaker Satire post… nah…

As part of an ongoing “Marathon” series, that follows up on the Boston, Berlin, and Dublin iteration, this latest variation of the adidas EQT Running Support 93 draws inspiration from the shades of red prominently seen in London?s streets.

Flaunting the defining hue across the majority of its suede upper, tongue label and inner lining, accents of black converge along toe tongue, laces, side panels, toe box and heel panel to create an aesthetically pleasing contrast.

The label’s signature three-stripe motif is rendered in white to pronounce the design even further, while the pristine tone is continued on the midsole. Finished off with a classic gum bottom and the UK Union Jack seen on the heel tabs, you can purchase a pair at select adidas accounts this, Saturday, April 23rd.

Author’s Take

Aside from the theme, this colorway on the silhouette is pretty appealing. I like the model overall and that gum bottom makes it even better.

LV Vibes All-Over This Custom adidas Yeezy 350 Boost

adidas Yeezy 350 Boost adidas Yeezy 350 Boost 1

The adidas Yeezy 350 Boost is certainly a coveted sneaker, as it was crowned the 2015 Shoe of The Year.

The popularity of the silhouette has given customizers chances to create a unique iteration of the model, which are either adored or despised. Case in point, this latest design via SoleShotta, who does custom work, although not particularly this shoe.

Flaunting the iconic LV monogram across its entire upper, the shoe’s construction essentially mimics the historic French label’s hand bags with leather trimming along the collar and its distinctive heel tab.

Finished off with gold laces and a tan colored sole unit to perfectly coordinate with the theme, would you consider purchasing this pair?

Author’s Take

Pass. These will definitely grab anyone’s attention, but it’s not my taste. The execution is superb though.

Following a series of tonal iterations, the adidas Climacool 1 is introduced in another new colorway of Ice Blue this season.

Constructed of its signature breathable mesh base that ensures sufficient ventilation throughout, matching TPU overlays are applied on the side panels, heel and toe cap for additional reinforcement.

Offset by accents of white on the heel tab, three-stripe motif and sole unit, the model is finished off with matching laces and a perforated sockliner.

You can purchase this latest variation at select adidas accounts overseas first.

The Eye-Catching adidas Originals Court Vantage Adicolor

The classic adidas Originals Court Vantage is the latest silhouette to be featured in the label’s “adicolor” series this season.

Essentially covered in a tonal hue, the models are rendered in bright shades of yellow and red to perfectly suit spring/summer. Composed of smooth leather with miniature perforations throughout to ensure sufficient breathability, the low-top sneakers are detailed with branding embossed on the tongue and heel counter, while resting atop a matching rubber sole unit.

Finished off with tonal laces, both pairs are now available at select adidas accounts nationwide for $80.

Author’s Take

I’ve never been aware of this silhouette. It does resemble the classic Superstar, but it looks great in tonal iterations. Plus, the simplicity is solid.

adidas Cannot Stop Puma From Releasing The NRGY Line Of Sneakers

adidas isn’t really feeling what Puma is doing with their NRGY line of sneakers. In their opinion, they feel like Puma’s NRGY line is much too similar to their Boost line. So what did they do? They went to court in an attempt to stop them from producing the shoes. After all was said and done, the German courts have denied their request.

Fortune is reporting that adidas sought an injunction to stop Puma from selling shoes from its NRGY line and they lost their case in Duesseldorf regional court earlier today.

One thing worth mentioning is that Puma was working with BASF, which happens to be the same company that developed the Boost technology for adidas. Puma and BASF were cooking until adidas inked a deal with BASF to work exclusively with them way back in 2011. Puma decided to move on and found a new partner in Huntsman Corp. Together they launched their NRGY line in 2014. Neil Narriman, the head of intellectual property at Puma mentioned that Puma has held back on unveiling and releasing many NRGY designs  in light of the litigation. That’s soon about to change as they plan on moving forward with heavilly promoting their NRGY line. Do you think that the Puma NRGY line will have similar success as the adidas Boost line? Let us know in the comments below.

2015 MLB Rookie of the Year Carlos Correa Discuss Success With adidas Mark King

Carlos Correa 1 Carlos Correa 2 Carlos Correa

Following the announcement of a multiyear partnership with adidas, Houston Astros Shortstop, Carlos Correa, recently joined President of adidas Group North America, Mark King, on his podcast “Extraordinary Happens.”

Currently the reigning 2015 Rookie of the Year, the 21-year old phenom discussed growing up with baseball in Puerto Rico and essentially how setting goals, self-confidence and making sacrifices helped him reach his dream.

?Self-confidence is the foundation of all great success. If your confidence is up there all the time ? no matter if you?re doing bad, if you cannot find your barrel to the ball, if your swing doesn?t feel good ? your confidence has to be there anyway. I learned that last year. Sometimes I?ll be tired, something will hurt, but my mentality is what got me through it.?
