adidas Brings Back The ZX Flux Slip-On

If the standard adidas ZX Flux wasn’t already chill enough for you, luckily there’s an even more casual option of the instant-classic modern-meets-vintage sneaker. Doing away with the laces, the ZX Flux Slip-On features a much more sporty take on the easy access style than its predecessors like that iconic Vans Slip-On. This version features an all-blue color scheme, with its mesh upper in College Navy with one of the two elastic cross straps in a slightly lighter shade of blue. This latest ZX Flux Slip-On is arriving now overseas, so expect them soon here in the US.

Nick Young Talks About Kobe Throwing His adidas Shoes In The Trash

Swaggy P took a Swaggy L on Thursday when it was discovered that Kobe Bryant, in classic Mamba style, chucked Nick Young’s adidas shoes in the trash and told him to get a pair of Nikes if he wanted a coveted autograph. Many thought the story was fabricated based on loose events of all the energy going on during Mamba Day post-game, but you can hear what happened directly from Young himself in this end-of-season exit interview with the press. Young confirms that Kobe chucked his shoes in the trash, but showed incredible grace by signing a pair of Nikes for him taking a photo with his son. Young, of course, is now an endorsed adidas athlete, but he was one of the most avid users of Nike Kobes during his sneaker “free agency”. Check out the video below and fast forward to the 3:45 mark to hear Young speak.

Damian Lillard and the Blazers will be playing Game 1 of their first round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday and Dame is expected to wear the adidas D Lillard 2 Stay Ready.

This weekend we’ll also be seeing the debut of another D Lillard 2 with the Uprising colorway that you see pictured above. This new D Lillard 2 will be worn by some of the nation’s best high school basketball players who will be competing this weekend’s adidas Gauntlet Dallas game. This new colorway is inspired by the ocean and uses a shark looking upper with color-shifting scales. Adidas says that shark inspiration is meant to represent the “hunger, motivation and drive it takes to outlast your opponent and reach the top of your game.”

There is no expected release date for this colorway of the D Lillard 2, but we’ll let you know if anything changes.

Author’s Take

It’s a shame that this colorway won’t be hitting retailers. I’m sure that many fans of the D Lillard 2 would have liked to own this pair.

Author’s Take

Kind of reminds of the Yeezy 750, but much better. It looks clean, I’m just not sure if I would pick up a pair since it really doesn’t match my style.

First Look At The adidas NMD XR1!

Heads up NMD fans, you’re soon going to have new options to choose from. adidas is on the brink on releasing a brand new version of the adidas NMD. The major difference on this new model is the fact that the shoe adds a caging system to the upper. Let’s get a first look at the adidas NMD XR1.

Set to release in July, the XR1 features the aforementioned perforated caging system placed on the side panels of the shoes. The upper’s construction appears to remain the same, but the new cage is more than enough to give the shoe a completely different look. The first colorway being displayed comes in a Triple White (all-white) aesthetic, but you can also be sure to expect a plethora of colorway options to choose from once the shoes begins to drop in July. Question.Do you like the NMD with or without a cage? Let us know in the comments below.

via: Modern Notoriety

Author’s Take

I think I prefer the NMD with a cage. I also think a lot of people will be agreeing with me. I can’t wait for these to begin to drop in July.

Y-3 Gets Its Hands On The adidas Ultra Boost

adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 1 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 2 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 3 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 4 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 5 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 6 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 7 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 8 adidas Ultra Boost Y-3 9

Have you ever wondered what an adidas Ultra Boost would look like if it were given the Y-3 treatment? You no longer have to as that concept has recently become a reality. Let’s take a look at what’s being called the Y-3 adidas Ultra Boost.

Right off the bat you could see that the main difference in this Ultra Boost is the fact that it comes built in a high-top fashion. Ditching the majority of the Primeknit construction, the shoe is given a new look with the usage of a breathable synthetic upper.  The shoe becomes a high-top with the help of a TechFit sock placed on the shoe. The heel counter is removed from the shoe, but a similar feature is placed on the rear portion of the side panels. A new lacing system that extends all the way to the TechFit sock is also put in place, while different types of eyelets are placed on the shoe as well. An all-black upper contrasts very nicely with the all-white Boost sole unit. The shoe recently dropped for $389. Are you looking to pick up a pair? Let us know in the comments below.

via: END Clothing

Author’s Take

It looks clean, I’m just still on the fence regarding the removal of the Primeknit construction. I guess if they would have left it on, the shoe would not be much of a change compared to the original Ultra Boost. Nonetheless, it’s pretty dope.

adidas Originals ZX Flux ADV 1 adidas Originals ZX Flux ADV 2 adidas Originals ZX Flux ADV 3 adidas Originals ZX Flux ADV 4

The adidas Originals ZX Flux ADV appears to be flying under the radar ever since adidas released it. A sleek hybrid version of the popular ZX Flux, the ADV has even more of a contemporary look. The latest colorways of the shoe utilize neon colored hits on the shoe to give the shoe even more of a pop.

The shoes start off with tonal mesh uppers contrasted by the neon hits placed on the sole unit, the outline of the clear heel cage and the heel pull tab. The two-toned look on the shoe definitely packs a punch and is more than enough if you’re looking to get noticed this Spring. Available now, don’t sleep on the adidas Originals ZX Flux ADV.

Dont Get Blinded By The Neon Green adidas Originals ZX 700

ADIDAS ZX 700 1 ADIDAS ZX 700 2 ADIDAS ZX 700 3 ADIDAS ZX 700 4

The adidas Originals ZX 700 made its debut way back in 1985 and over 30 years later it continues to release in bold new colorways. That’s what you call withstanding the test of time.

Arriving for the Summer is this new colorway that you see above which features the comfortable and lightweight runner draped in a tonal neon green hue all throughout. The entire upper, inner liner, laces, midsole and even the outsole has been done in neon green. The shoe is composed out of mesh and leather on the upper with a rubber outsole finishing things off.

Are you a fan of the ZX 700 silhouette from adidas? What are your thoughts on this new neon green colorway?

via: Social Status

Author’s Take

The ZX 700 is a silhouette that I tend to forget about a lot since we don’t see it as much as other adidas sneakers. I would maybe considering buying a pair some day but it won’t be this neon green colorway.

Rejected: Kobe Throws Away Nick Youngs adidas Shoes After He Asks To Sign Them

Last night marked the final time that Kobe Bryant played in an NBA game and he went out with bang to say the least. The Black Mamba put up an amazing 50 shots and converted on 22 of them to score 60 points. Yes, SIXTY POINTS! He did it all while wearing the black and gold Nike Kobe 11 Black Mamba that released yesterday (which by the way are reselling for $1,000 on eBay right now).

After the game EVERYONE wanted a piece of Kobe. Whether it was to shake his hand or give him a hug to congratulate him, take a picture with him or get an autograph, Kobe was the man of the hour day. Something interesting also happened after the game that you’ll probably get a laugh at. It’s being reported by Darius Soriano that Nick Young asked Kobe if he could sign some adidas sneaker for him. Not only did Kobe say no, but he threw Young’s shoes in the trash and told him to get some Nikes if he wanted a pair of shoes signed. Damn….

If we had to take a guess we’re gonna say that Swaggy P wanted to get his adidas Kobe Vino Pack signed, but Mamba wasn’t havin’ it.

Author’s Take

I wouldn’t have expected anything less from Kobe. Haha. That’s just Mamba being Mamba.

Another Look At The Pharrell x adidas NMD Human Race

pharrell-adidas-boost-2 pharrell-adidas-boost-3

Back in January we let you know what Pharrell and adidas were working on some type of NMD/Boost collaboration. We provided you with a first look that showed Pharrell wearing the model. Today we get a better look at this potential release.

The latest look on the shoe further proves to us that the shoe could very well be a special version of the NMD model. Just like the first time around, the all-yellow sneaker comes with large print reading “Human Race”. The latest look on the shoe shows it coming without laces, but we’ve seen the shoe rock laces in the past. No word yet on when/if the shoe will release, so we have to wait until adidas officially announces something. Thoughts on the Pharrell x adidas NMD Human Race? Let us know in the comments below.

Kobe Bryant Refused To Sign Nick Youngs adidas Shoes And Threw Them In The Trash

The Black Mamba is a damn savage. On top of his 60-point game, which ended his career on a note so high that no other player in history will probably reach, he made his allegiance to Nike resoundingly clear by rejecting teammate Nick Young’s bid for an autographed pair of shoes. Young asked Kobe to autograph his adidas shoes, but Kobe not only refused, but he threw them in the trash and told him to fetch a pair of Nikes if he wanted the holy signature. The irony is that if Young didn’t sign with adidas to be their NBA posterboy for non-performance footwear, he would’ve worn some sick Nike Kobes for the final game – and Nike might’ve seeded him a pair like they did with LeBron, Iguodala, and many more. Mamba out.

As a continuation of the brand’s ?Marathon Series? that started in February with the debut of the Tokyo variation, this particular pair flaunts a predominantly dark gray suede upper with light grey nylon underlays on the side panels that were inspired by the original design.

Further complemented with red accents and the national flag of the U.S.A. on the heel tab, the sneaker is rounded out by a clean white midsole unit.

You can purchase a pair at select adidas retailers nationwide starting Saturday, April 16 for $150.

I’m a fan of runners overall and I like how these look. The colorway is pretty versatile and it’s a cool honorary gesture to the event.
