adidas Hoops To Release The D Lillard 2 Shark Black Tomorrow

Damian Lillard is one of the league’s best offensive weapons and somehow he was still looked over in last year’s All-Star Game. The young point guard lead the Portland Trail Blazers to the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs despite losing all four of his co-starters from the previous year too. One thing’s for sure, adidas Hoops knows that they have a bonafide stud for years to come with Dame being a focal point of the brand’s signature lineup. Today we get a look at a brand new adidas D Lillard 2 known as the “Shark Black” colorway.

The D Lillard 2 Shark Black represents Dame’s ‘primal on-court instinct and ability to attack defenses at will’. The three stripes pay homage to this killer attacking drive through a tonal black treatment with hints of Solar Red, an Oak Print representing Lillard’s hometown, and a unique Bounce midsole for extra cushion. Unique chain stitching adds a new touch to the silhouette’s upper throughout not seen on past installments. The adidas D Lillard 2 Shark Black will release tomorrow September 17th for $105 USD. You can purchase the pair here.

Adidas Confirms The Release Date For The mastermind Japan x adidas Originals 2016 Collection

MASTERMIND JAPAN 1 MASTERMIND JAPAN 2 MASTERMIND JAPAN 3 MASTERMIND JAPAN 4 MASTERMIND JAPAN 5 MASTERMIND JAPAN MASTERMIND JAPAN 6

Over the last couple of days we’ve taken a couple of good looks at the upcoming collaboration with mastermind Japan and adidas Originals.

Releasing for for Fall/Winter 2016, the two parties have joined forces to work on the NMD XR1 and the Tubular Instinct. Each shoe incorporates Mastermind?s distinctive monotone color palette and Skull & Crossbones motif into its design, creating a true symbiosis of two iconic brands. The NMD XR1 features a pitch black color on the shoe?s knitted upper, structural overlays and EVA midsole plugs, countered by branding details on the insole, tongue and TPU cage atop a classic BOOST tooling and three sets of custom laces. Next is the Tubular Instinct which comes with a blacked-out leather upper construction with essential Skull & Crossbone branding on the lateral heel. The shoe?s fluid split-layer midsole tooling receives a contrast white treatment on the heel, while a full zip closure down the heel transforms the progressive high-top model into a clean, high fashion context.

Look for the mastermind Japan x adidas Originals Collection to arrive at select adidas retailers on September 20th for $220 each pair.

Author’s Take

I like the NMD XR1, but it would have been nice to see some color used on this collaboration. We?ve seen too many black NMDs release already.

Buy, Pass, Wait: Air Jordan 4 Premium Obsidian, adidas NMD Triple Black

Jordans or NMDs? That is the burning question on sneakerhead’s minds. Yes, the Yeezys have jumped over both in terms of mindshare, but their rarity is so extreme that they occupy a totally different space. In terms of actually seeing a sneaker in person at a store, the two hottest names at the moment are Jordans and NMDs and this weekend we are going to see a handful of both with a “premium” take on a classic, arguably the most intriguing colorway of the latest from the Jumpman and a trio of NMDs that are sure to tickle the fancy of three stripes fans everywhere. Enjoy this uh, very focused edition of Buy, Pass, Wait, our weekly segment where the Kicks On Fire Staff talks about the weekend’s most notable releases.

Air Jordan 4 Premium Obsidian

Solebox
Solebox

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (PASS) I like the execution with the quilted upper and premium touches, but I don’t care for the Obsidian color in this case. Also that box better be sturdy and secure if someone is paying $400 for them. I better be able to drop it and come away with nary a scratch.

Renz Ofiaza, News: (WAIT) It’ll most likely sell out, but, for that steep price tag, I’d rather buy from a designer label. I’m not hating on the colorway and construction though, it’s a really great looking pair.

Juan Carrillo, News: (WAIT) The more I look at the shoe, the more I like it. I just can’t make myself drop 4 bills on them. Not saying I would never pay $400 for a sneaker, or never have, I just don’t feel like doing so right now. Regardless, it’s a beautiful shoe nonetheless!

Andres Carrillo, News: (WAIT) I’m a big fan of the Air Jordan 4 and this is a really nice colorway. I just can’t pay $400 for this shoe though. If lots of people pass on it and it somehow falls down to $200 I would consider buying a pair. That probably won’t happen though.

Air Jordan XXX1 Fine Print

Nike
Nike

EIC Juan: (WAIT) If only that Jumpman wasn’t there, it would be an instant cop. Maybe a Sharpie might be effective in blocking it out…

Renz: (WAIT) The colorway is pretty timeless and versatile, so you can’t go wrong with one. The signature on the outsole is a cool detail too, but, I’ll wait for it at a lower price.

News Juan: (PASS) The Jordan 31 is looking pretty dope from where I stand and I see myself owning a pair of 31s in the near future. With this pair being one of the first colorways, I’d rather wait a bit and see what other colorways Jordan Brand has up their sleeve.

Andres: (WAIT) I recently saw the Air Jordan 31 Banned in person and I liked it. This Fine Print colorway is just as clean and I would definitely consider picking up a pair for the right price (around $120). I’ll just have to stay patient and hope people pass on it.

adiads NMD R1 Triple Black

adidas
adidas

EIC Juan: (PASS) Only because I’m overwhelmed by the number of NMDs I already have. Yes, I know that makes me sounds like a jerk, but a Triple Black (or a Triple Red or Triple White for that matter) is just not going to convince me to cop another one…

Renz: (BUY) It’s really about time the sole unit was colored in this shade. This pair is certainly a crowd pleaser.

News Juan: (PASS) The tonal look fits the shoe very well, but like I’ve said in the past, I’m not crazy about the NMD model. If I were to ever get the pair, it would have to be a really dope colorway preferably in with Primeknit construction.

Andres: (PASS) Out of all the colorways from the NMD Colored Boost Pack that are releasing this it the only pair that I would consider actually buying. An all-black NMD is something that is easy to wear and I’ve heard is pretty comfortable. But these will probably sell out pretty quick which means I won’t have a chance. I’m fine with that though. I’ll just keep waiting a bit longer to buy my first NMD.

adidas NMD R1 Solar Red

adidas
adidas

EIC Juan: (PASS) See above. Also, are they really calling this Solar Red? It’s interesting that Nike’s idea of Solar Red is closer to pink and adidas’s closer to orange.

Renz: (PASS) I’m an advocate for this silhouette, although, this colorway is too bright for my taste (now). A few years ago, I would’ve certainly considered.

News Juan: (PASS) Same thing as the Black pair. It has that dope tonal look, but I don’t see myself wearing this pair a lot. I’d rather pass on these and pick up other sneakers with Boost on them.

Andres: (PASS) Isn’t the all red sneaker trend dead? Plus this looks more like orange than red. Easy pass for me.

adidas NMD XR1 Triple Black (Kinda)

adidas
adidas

EIC Juan: (PASS) Ok, it’s not really a Triple Black because the upper is striped, but I’m still not sold on the addition of a cage to the upper that’s not unlike an Ultra Boost and calling it a day.

Renz: (BUY) I like the design of the sneaker overall and I like how the upper isn’t treated in all-black. It’s versatile and perfect for everyday wear, so it’s a nice option to buy this season.

News Juan: (WAIT) I don’t see these sitting on shelves, but this is definitely my favorite pairs from the 3 NMDs dropping this weekend. The new look of the upper helps give the shoe a refreshing feel. It’s crazy hat a few changes can do to  the entire look of a shoe, right?Good work, adidas, you’ve got yourself a winner!

Andres: (PASS) I’ve seen the adidas NMD XR1 in a variety of colorways but it just doesn’t grasp my attention, not even with colored Boost. I prefer the original NMD much better.

adidas Originals Unveils The mastermind Japan Collection

adidas Originals continues to push the boundaries of lifestyle footwear with their ever-growing adidas NMD catalog. Not only are upcoming collaborations with lifestyle giants like BAPE, Ronnie Fieg’s KITH, and more going to advance some of the trefoil brand’s most popular silhouettes, but international offerings like this teaming up with mastermind Japan is sure to warrant more than enough attention. Now we have word that Japanese lifestyle imprint’s takes on the adidas NMD XR1 and the adidas Tubular Instinct will be arriving at global retailers throughout this month, with a stateside release pinned down for September 20th.

The mastermind adidas NMD XR1 will undoubtedly be the main draw here, as the protective outer cage is revamped through the use of premium leather to match the heel. The jet black colorway is indicative of mastermind’s signature ominous aesthetic while contrasting white hits the Boost midsole and all skull and crossbones branding. That being said, you have to give mastermind some props for adding a unique twist to the seldom seen adidas Tubular Instinct. One of the afterthoughts in the entire Tubular lineup gets a Vans-like zipper construction on the heel in-line with past collaborations from the Japanese brand with the Sk8-Hi LX. A premium black leather upper adds a touch of luxury while a blown up skull and crossbones logo matches the heel.

It’s been a little hard to pin down when and where the mastermind adidas NMD XR1 and Tubular Instinct will release, but we have word that both offerings will be available at stateside retailers on September 20th. The premium touches will cost a little extra – each pair will retail for $220 USD. Check out more detailed shots below and stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.

adidas NMD XR1 Duck Camo Pack

BAPE’s adidas NMD collaboration will release on November 26th, right after all of the Black Friday madness has died down, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll have to wait that long for camouflaged adidas NMD offerings. That’s because the three stripes are outfitting the ever-coveted adidas NMD XR1 with two new “Duck Camo” styles slated to release on October 25th, each for $150 USD.

These adidas NMD Camo pairs utilize the popular hunting graphic in a rather subtle way, as a ventilated mesh upper comes in either a Core Black or Footwear White base with slight deviations in the shades are committed to the shapes found in the traditional hunting aesthetic. Premium suede detailing can be found on the heel panel and tongue with embossed three stripe branding. The heel tab still sports that international “The Brand With The Three Stripes” text too.

What do you think of these upcoming NMD Camo renditions? Be sure to check out more photos of October 25th’s offerings below and stay tuned for more release date updates right here on Sneaker News.

Adidas Originals has joined forces with familiar face White Mountaineering to release a trio of colorways of the Tubular Nova silhouette.

The Japanese fashion label has taken the low top Tubular model and given it a new look by dressing it up in three new colorways. The color options include Black/White, Blue/White, and Olive/Grey. Each of the colorways features suede and heathered textile on the uppers along with White accents and ?WHITE? branding on the heels to commemorate the fact that this is a White Mountaineering collaboration.

You can look for the White Mountaineering x adidas Tubular Nova at select adidas retailers beginning on September 16th.

Author’s Take

With Fall almost here it was a good choice by White Mountaineering to go with suede and heathered textile on the upper. All three colorways are pretty clean. My favorite would have to be the olive pair.

This adidas Ultra Boost Comes With A New Look Primeknit Upper

adidas Ultra Boost 1 adidas Ultra Boost 2 adidas Ultra Boost 3

Not only does the adidas Ultra Boost you see above come with a brand new design/pattern placed on the Primeknit, it also appears to be some kind of special version of the model judging by the unique branding on the tongue.

The new look Primeknit placed on this adidas Ultra Boost comes thicker knit ribs as well as with a dotted knit pattern on the toe, tongue and ankle collar. The colorways of the Primeknit has the shoe comes in Black and a Light Red, perhaps even Pink. Matte Black takes care of the heel and cage, while the Boost midsole below comes in a customary White. The other unique feature on the shoe lies in the new logo placed on the tongue. It sort of looks like “CNY” or even “NYC”. Could these be sore of Chinese New Year or New York City themed Ultra Boosts? I guess we’re going to have to wait and see, right?

via: sneakerprophet_

Author’s Take

I like the design/pattern of this Primeknit. Colorway is decent. I’m just curious to see what the letters on the tongue mean.
