As its moniker implies, the silhouette has been elevated with premium materials and craftsmanship. More golden details are prominent on the tongue and on the heel with an enlarged Jumpman logo, which is adhered atop a leather heel tab. Michael Jordan’s alma mater get another exclusive Air Jordan 31 colorway. The school recently gave us a first look at that shoe, which goes by the name of the Air Jordan 31 Coaches vs. Cancer PE.

Instead of taking the easy route and dressing the shoe in the school’s Carolina Blue colorway, this version of the Jordan 31 comes in a smooth looking Maroon and Gold color scheme. These colors were chosen to coincide with the theme of the shoe (Coaches vs. Cancer). Additional features on the shoe include the ?Carolina?scripted inside the translucent outsole paired up with the Jumpman placed right on top of it. Want to see these in action? The Air Jordan 12 OVO Black is now scheduled to release on February 18th 2017. This is the Saturday during NBA All Star Weekend, so you know that there will be lots of hyped released dropping that weekend. The OVO Air Jordan 12 “Black” is finally releasing at select retailers for the NBA’s All-Star Weekend on February 18th, 2017 for $225 USD. We’ve seen a number of original Drake x Jordan Brand collaborations release featuring a dedication to luxurious quality with bolstered materials like suede and stingray leather, but the Jumpman teased the final Air Jordan 12 collaboration for quite some time.

The OVO Jordan 12 Black furthers Jordan Brand’s lifestyle aspirations through a collaboration with arguably the biggest hip-hop star on the planet in Drake. His October’s Very Own imprint gets a nod throughout the collaboration through a unique Metallic Gold owl logo on the insole, but this murdered-out pair takes a different approach when compared to past OVO Jordans. The streetwear ready take on the Jordan 12 benefits from stingray leather on the mudguard with a caviar-like texture while a smokey outsole unit adds some transparency for a unique twist.

Usually, when you think University of North Carolina PEs, you’ll immediately imagine that original shade of light blue paired with white. It’s a colorway that Michael Jordan imagined wearing in the NBA even despite the Chicago Bulls’ iconic red and black uniforms, and it’s a sought after aesthetic for how clean it looks. Today we get a look at a completely different UNC player exclusive, though, as this special edition Air Jordan 31 “Coaches vs. Cancer” PE was made in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and National Association of Basketball Coaches. Together, the duo has helped raise over $100 million to help the American Cancer Society’s mission of finding a cure through awareness and advocacy.

The Air Jordan 31 Coaches vs Cancer PE features a unique maroon and gold colorway to completely contrast the Tar Heels’ usual light blue and navy accents. It’s unknown if this colorway was made to honor the late Jim Valvano, a legendary coach at North Carolina State University who lost his life to cancer after leading his team to an improbable 1983 NCAA Championship, given NC State’s matching uniform colors. There is a hint of UNC’s Tar Heel cosign on this pair in the form of bold ‘Carolina’ branding on the icy outsole. Expect the Tar Heels to wear this pair in their upcoming matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies this Thursday, January 26th at 8PM on ESPN.
