





The adidas Futurecraft Biosteel is officially revealed, which consists as the world?s first performance shoe made using Biosteel® fiber — a replication of natural silk — at the Biofabricate Conference in New York.
This Futurecraft Biofabric prototype sneaker features an upper made from 100% Biosteel® fiber, a nature-based and completely biodegradable high-performance fiber, developed by the German biotech company AMSilk. The material is 15% lighter in weight than conventional synthetic fibers, in addition to being the strongest fully natural material available, as well as a more sustainable offering.

The featured silhouette is pretty solid and the construction is promising. Since it’s biodegradable, it doesn’t harm the world as well. It’ll be interesting to see what’s produced in the coming years.
