James Harden Unveils Two adidas Harden Vol. 5 Colorways Filled With Nods To His Family And Friends

adidas and James Harden just unveiled two new colorways of the adidas Harden Vol. 5. Dubbed the adidas Harden Vol. 5 Daisy and adidas Harden Vol. 5 Aura, both colorways come equipped with elements recognizing his family and friends.
Design inspiration and the bright colors on both the Daisy and Aura iterations come from James Harden?s closet and his love for bold and expressive patterns, colors, and designs in fashion. Both colorways tell James? story with nods to his family and friends throughout. For example, James wanted to recognize his mom in these colorways – as indicated by the butterfly – to show his appreciation for her and the confidence she instilled in him. The dove represents James? ‘brothers through everything’. The flower is a tribute to a friend James lost, giving them flowers for the impact they had on him.
In addition to the new colorways, James Harden also released the adidas Harden Vol. 5 Chapter 2 film which explores his journey and the family and friends that have inspired him along the way. In the film, James discusses how he fell in love with basketball and how ?you can?t compare it to anything else.? He talks about how his confidence grew throughout high school and over the years, giving all credit to his mom. Wearing the Daisy colorway in the film, Harden concludes by saying, ?Whenever you put these shoes on, I want you to feel that ultimate confidence to be able to do things that you never thought that you could do.?
The adidas Harden Vol. 5 Daisy will be available March 5 and Aura is available April 2 on adidas.com. Retail is $130.

This model from the mind of Kanye West features a molded foam compound upper that blends lightweight EVA with harvested algae with this pair being done in a tonal earth-toned Sand hue. Our first look at the sneaker only shows a deconstructed pair focusing on the toe box. Done in a Mono Clay/Mono Clay-Mono Clay color scheme, the shoe will essentially be a tonal Clay iteration of the model where the upper, lining, laces and sole will all be done in a Clay hue. A semi-translucent sheath upper with signature side stripes and rear pull tabs along with Boost on the sole round out the main features of the shoe.
