adidas Celebrates Their Florist City Collection with D Lillard 2 & D Rose 6

adidas Hoops is back with their annual “Floral City” Collection, a duo that pays homage to spring’s blooming flowers in Portland and greater Illinois atop the likes of the adidas D Lillard 2 and adidas D Rose 6 Boost. Portland is known for their famous rose gardens and annual Rose Festival. adidas captures the magic through the use of a realistic red rose graphic throughout Dame’s second signature silhouette, this time featuring a woven upper with matte black to contrast for a perfect match to his Trailblazers uniform. The pair also utilizes a premium metallic Oak print on the heel with reflective accents throughout. The adidas D Rose 6 Boost “Florist City” is a bit more abstract, as Illinois’ state flower, the violet, is showcased by implementing a deep purple color throughout. Premium touches of gold land on the eyelets, lace loops, and webbing. Be sure to check out more official photos below of adidas’ latest floral collection and know that each pair will be available on March 18th from select adidas outlets. The adidas D Rose 6 Boost will retail for $140, the adidas D Lillard 2 will be priced at $105.

adidas Tubular Radial Night Navy

The adidas Tubular series has been holding down the Originals imprint for well over two years now, and the latest model known as the adidas Tubular Radial manages to mix OG sensibilities of the early 90s Tubular aesthetic with DNA from the luxurious Y-3 line. Habitual reading would lead you to believe the shade specified here is Midnight Navy, but the three stripes are settling for “Night Navy” instead, as a supple suede toecap and heel mixes perfectly with a stretchy neoprene base sure to form fit to your foot for a comfortable ride. The Long Island sneaker specialists known as Extra Butter previewed this shoe for us today, so if you’re a fan of the look head to their online shop to pick up your size.

An Upcoming Pristine adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged

adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 1 adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged 2

In addition to the recently featured collaboration with Solebox, the adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged will receive more updates throughout this year, as the latest colorway is presented in Triple White.

Essentially sporting a clean white upper with subtle grey hits that consists of breathable Primeknit, the comfy material is reinforced with a tonal TPU heel cage, as it all rests atop a matching full-length sole unit. Once again, unlike its traditional counterpart, this model is free from its TPU system on the midfoot, which allows more movement and a sleeker profile.

Rounded out with matching laces, you can find this pair at select adidas retailers starting sometime during Spring 2016. Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for more.

Author’s Take

I’m a fan of the tonal finish and the silhouette in general. Although, I would have preferred the three stripe TPU system applied on the silhouette instead. I don’t like how it looks in this colorway.

This forthcoming Solebox x adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged edition takes cues from the Berlin-based retailer’s district’s ‘Coat of Arms’ insignia, designed by Hikmet Sugoer.

Utilizing various shades of grey for its primary colorway across its intricately knitted upper of smooth wool and suede, the sneaker is treated with subtle touches of green on the tongue label, alongside bright red lace tips and its outsole. Further defined by being free from a TPU cage which allows extra freedom of movement for the foot as well as a clean aesthetic, the model is supplemented atop a crisp white midsole unit.

Rounded out with SB debossing on the shoe?s heel cup to identify the partnership, you can find this special edition pair at Solebox starting this Saturday, March 12th, while a wider release at other adidas Consortium retail stores will follow at a later date.

Author’s Take

I’m all for minimalism and clean silhouettes, so I’m just biased overall. The colorway is versatile and the build looks superb. One of the better iterations of the model so far this year.

Damian Lillard And The adidas D Lillard 2 Are Clawing Their Way To The Top Of The Three Stripes

So the formula to get the best out of Damian Lillard is to ignore him. Taken with the sixth pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, which was also known as the Anthony Davis sweepstakes? Win Rookie of the Year and pull off a historic NBA All-Star Weekend performance where he participated in every event on Saturday Night. Known nationwide mostly as the second banana behind LaMarcus Aldridge? Roll off two straight All-Star appearances. Left to fend for himself after his follow Portland starters bolted for other teams, left off the 30-man Team USA pool, left behind this past February’s All-Star team? Put up mind-boggling numbers, lead the Trail Blazers to a potential playoff spot and get invited back to Team USA. If there’s one thing we’ve learned this NBA season that doesn’t involve Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors – whom Lillard beat and lit up for 51 points – it’s that Dame doesn’t take too kindly to slights.

adidas D Lillard 2 Package adidas D Lillard 2 Package adidas D Lillard 2 Package adidas D Lillard 2 Package adidas D Lillard 2 Static adidas D Lillard 2 Home adidas D Lillard 2 3b adidas D Lillard 2 4 adidas D Lillard 2 4b adidas D Lillard 2 5 adidas D Lillard 2 5b adidas D Lillard 2 6 adidas D Lillard 2 6b adidas D Lillard 2 11 adidas D Lillard 2 12

And yet here we are ignoring him again. His second adidas signature shoe, the adidas D Lillard 2, is available now, but you can be forgiven if you forgot that it existed. After a solid first year with the adidas D Lillard 1, the Lillard 2 went for a more performance-based look that still managed to maintain a very fan-friendly price point. With John Wall out and Derrick Rose receding into the background, Lillard seemed poised for even bigger things. But in the signature shoe landscape, the Lillard 2 has been overshadowed by the Nike giants and now, he has to deal with growing Stephen Curry behemoth over at Under Armour. And then there’s the matter of when sneakerheads talk about adidas, they’re talking about Kanye West, the NMD, the ZX Flux and everything else under the Originals banner before they get to Dame. We’ve already shown you what is possible with the adidas D Lillard 2 on mi adidas and what a great option they are, but it just doesn’t seem to hit with the audience.

So what does Dame do? He shows up at Foot Locker to give away and sign Lillard 2s for the fans to build his audience. He goes on social media talking to the people and getting them involved with #4BarFriday. He scores 51 points and beats Steph and the Warriors and posts another 50-point performance in a losing effort. He keeps on getting better and building the Lillard empire in the Northwest without a lot of people noticing. It’s a slow burn, but just like the Blazers surprising the NBA, Dame is doing what he can to speed up the process.

So many signature shoe lines have their line in the sand moment with the third or fourth model. Take the Air Jordan 3 and 4 and see just how important they are to Michael Jordan’s legacy in the sneaker world. The Nike Zoom KD 4 catapulted Kevin Durant to the spotlight. Kobe Bryant’s fourth signature shoe with both adidas (THE KOBE) and Nike (Nike Zoom Kobe 4) were game-changers. As the biggest and best name still standing in adidas Basketball, Damian Lillard is in a great position to be their flagship athlete (sorry, James Harden). The adidas D Lillard 2 has a long way to go (people are just realizing that there is a Boost version), but you can bet that if Dame can once again have a strong showing in the playoffs and work his way into the Team USA roster in Brazil this summer, the Lillard 3 could potentially be huge for adidas and Dame.

NBA
NBA

Curry might not be the only lights-out shooter who is climbing up the signature shoe ranks. We live in a world now where the Under Armour Curry Two could potentially outsell the Nike LeBron 13. If Dame can continue this upward trend with the Blazers and maybe form a possible rivalry with Steph and the Warriors, it’s not impossible to see a day where kids are not just going to the swoosh for the sake of the swoosh. Who would have thought that as recently as this summer when Aldridge, Wesley Matthews and the rest moved on? I’m going to say Dame and that’s about it. And he probably likes it that way.

adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Triple White

Not  a fan of the supportive three stripe overlay on the adidas Ultra Boost? Not to worry, as it was trendy to see people cut off the performance-minded cage tooling until Hypebeast helped introduce an official adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged not too long ago. What resulted was an all Primeknit upper that stylishly coexisted with the patented Boost technology for an even sleeker design than the original. Now we’re getting previews of an all-white rendition that takes the silhouette to a whole different level, one that could challenge the current reigning adidas NMD for the title of the must-have three stripes running model. What do you think of this alternate white on white Ultra Boost Uncaged? Feel free to check out more detailed photos below and we’ll keep you updated in regards to a potential release date right here on Sneaker News.

Solebox and adidas Consortium Uncage The Ultra Boost

In December, Hypebeast kicked off the adidas Ultra Boost collaboration campaign with a masterful take on the popular running silhouette with a custom “Uncaged” upper. As part of the 2016 adidas Consortium tour, Solebox brings back the logo-less silhouette inspired by the shop district’s coat of arms, which translates into this beautiful tan/red colorway of the Ultra Boost Uncaged. The heel-cup is also re-designed and features a debossed Solebox logo, while the shop’s signature S logo can be seen on the tongue pull-tabs. Expect these to release this Saturday, March 12th, at Solebox, with a global release arriving after.

Is The adidas Yeezy Boost 750 Brown The Best Colorway Yet

It looks like we’re getting a brand new colorway of the adidas Yeezy Boost 750, and the release date is closer than you think. Keeping the tonal look of the shoe going, this time around the shoe comes in a brown/chocolate colorway that take care of all of the upper.

Once again the shoe is done in a suede construction covered in brown hue. The tonal look of the shoe continues as you can also see a similar hue on the strap, laces and lining of the shoe. The shoe is then contrasted by the gum outsole that serves as the foundation of the shoe. Very simplistic, but that’s one of the reasons many people like it. Said to be releasing March 18th, you will be able to grab a pair of the adidas Yeezy Boost 750 Brown for $350.

Author’s Take

I’n my opinion this is the best colorway on makeup on the shoe. I feel like the black pair would have looked with gum sole as the one you see above. These are sure to fly off the shelves.

The adidas Originals Superstar Was The Real adidas Star Of 2015

We all know adidas had a pretty great 2015. But do you know which adidas model was the best selling sneaker of 2015? No, it’s not a Yeezy. It’s not any shoe with Boost or Primeknit on it. It’s not the ZX Flux or any Tubular. It’s none other than the classic adidas Originals Superstar.

15 millions pairs of the adidas Originals Superstar were sold last year. That’s a lot! 2015 also saw the Superstar celebrate an anniversary which gave adidas a chance to release a huge amount of different models all celebrating the anniversary of the shoe. There were also plenty collaborations the shoe took part in, most noticeably with Pharrell and the 50 different tonal colorways they came out with.

According to Bloomberg, the Superstar accounts for almost $1 in every $10 adidas took in last year, which is more than enough to make the shoe the most profitable adidas model of 2015. Did you cop a pair of the Superstar in 2015? Are you surprised to hear this news?

I’m a big fan of yellow. Whenever I feel like being flashy, I feel like yellow sneakers get the job done. I haven’t gotten a pair of Superstars in a minute, I wouldn’t mind owning a pair of these.

The adidas NMD Will Soon Come In An All-White Colorway

adidas NMD 1 adidas NMD 2 adidas NMD 3 adidas NMD 4 adidas NMD 5

The all-white sneaker season is among us. If you’re in the market to get a fresh new pair, I highly suggest you pick up this all-white colorway of the adidas NMD.

The adidas NMD comes constructed out of a full mesh upper sitting on top of the Boost-infused sole unit. Both the mesh and Boost sole are done in white, while the laces, lining, branding also follow suit. Are you diggin’ this look? If so, you will be able to pick up this pair as they are slated to release within the next couple of weeks.

Author’s Take

It’s a nice looking sneaker, but all-white is going to be very hard to maintain and keep clean. I’d much rather pick up a colorway that needs less maintenance.
