When the adidas D Lillard 1 was first revealed, one of the initial thoughts I had in my mind were how much it looked less like an adidas Basketball product and more of an Originals joint. The tech behind the shoe was modern to be sure, but the aesthetic screamed more like a pair that you could wear off the court than on it. The D Lillard 2 was a departure from that and was more of a gameday shoe that while overall was an improvement and moved the Lillard line forward, you couldn’t see anybody rocking them off the court.

The adidas Dame 3 does its best to balance the on-court needs with off-court sensibility. The quarter panel is the first sign of that as the multiple ways you can lace the shoe give you the ability to customize. The placement and direction of the three stripes is reminiscent of what adidas has done with the Ultra Boost Uncaged while the midsole shape mimics what we’ve seen in other recent adidas Basketball models. Even the collar has a slip-on vibe that you might be familiar with if you’re an owner of City Socks or Yeezys.

But all of these design quirks aren’t readily apparent if you can’t build the right colorway. So far, adidas has dropped Dame 3 colorways that are made for standing out on the court. Social Status has tag-teamed with Sneakersnstuff to create an adidas Ultra Boost featuring several details that are uncommon with the Ultra Boost silhouette. Leather linings and tongue tabs, a fortified toe-box, and a suede upper cage are just a quick summary of this pristine adidas collaboration, and while it is unclear whether or not this is part of the Sneaker Exchange, it’s rather likely as both Social Status and SNS are part of the global Consortium circle. Previously working together on the NMD City Sock, Japanese fashion imprint, White Mountaineering, produces another standout collaborative silhouette with this NMD Trail to welcome the new year.

Featured in a classic black and white color scheme, the model is essentially a revised iteration of the classic NMD silhouette. Comprised of primeknit across its upper, tonal synthetics are applied throughout to reinforce its sleek profile, while leather accents are also added for premium flair.

Further detailed with the distinctive three stripe motif across its side panels in white and black EVA inserts, the model is topped off with a crisp white boost midsole unit and black hiking boot-inspired outsole.

Priced at $170, you can purchase this pair at select adidas retailers worldwide starting January 19th.

The adidas NMD continues to get fresh revamps and reworks throughout the early goings of 2017. Not only is the sequel to the retro-inspired lifestyle model going strong with the adidas NMD R2, but the three stripes has bolstered the silhouette for autumn and winter with the addition of a rugged outsole unit underneath the adidas NMD Trail. Japanese fashion label White Mountaineering and adidas Originals have worked together in the past on a number of head-turning collaborations that takes the minimalist, premium style from adidas’ retro catalog to task in addition to a number of the three stripes’ latest lifestyle offerings, so it makes perfect sense that WM would link up with the NMD.

Today we get a look at two renditions of the White Mountaineering adidas NMD Trail which benefits from a premium Primeknit woven upper, weatherized protection on the toebox, and updated ‘White Mountaineering’ branding on the heel tab. The three stripe side panel branding even gets a subtle ‘WM’ overhaul to call out the Japanese imprint’s initials. A new angular heel panel adds a unique twist as well. The White Mountaineering adidas NMD Trail will be available in Black/White and Red/Blue on January 19th from select retailers.

Originally previewed at Foot Locker EU, this particular adidas NMD R1 Primeknit is expected to release to the public later this year.

As suggested, the popular silhouette is defined by the its snakeskin/camouflage-like pattern across the primeknit composition. A tricolor three stripe motif on the side panels rendered in black, olive and hot pink, punctuates its understated design, which also incorporates distinctive Japanese text.

In addition, beige and olive EVA inserts complement the theme, while a crisp white boost sole unit rounds out the sleek design altogether.

Renz Ofiaza, News: I’m not tired of seeing this silhouette. This particular aesthetic is pretty appealing overall and I like the tricolored stripes a lot. That touch of pink was a nice addition in my view. This is definitely a heavily sought after pair.

adidas has plenty of heat in the Ultra Boost department slated to arrive this Spring 2017 season. Not too long ago we previewed a new take on the adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged featuring a unique new patterned upper that switched up how we thought about “Multi-Color”. While that pair is slated to arrive at retailers on February 1st, today we get a preview of a brand new adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Multi-Color exclusively for women’s sizes that takes a similar approach.

This Ultra Boost Uncaged Multi Color benefits from a Core Black Primeknit base while mistmatched hits of orange and teal speckle throughout for an added twist. We recently previewed new offerings of the adidas Originals Stan Smith CF for adults that has the shoe come in White leather uppers offset by the bold hits of color noted on the heel and tongue branding. We now found out that adidas has also released the same model for the kids, or anyone who can fit into a grade school (GS) size. Today we get a look at one of those available colorways.

The adidas Originals Stan Smith CF comes constructed and designed in the same fashion. Thin includes the all-White leather upper equipped with the three velcro straps, perforations on the paneling used as Three Stripes branding, a matching all-White sole unit and the hits of Green placed on both the heel and tongue branding. If you fit into a GS or want to hook up the small-footer in your life, you can now pick up a pair for $55 from select retailers.

Today we get a look at the adidas EQT Support Ultra PK in an updated “Vintage White”, a no-frills aesthetic that combines inspiration from the adidas EQT Support 93 with the adidas Ultra Boost for a comfortable everyday go-to.

The adidas EQT Support Ultra PK debuts its first general release colorway featuring touches of a contrasting Core Black on the ankle collar while the side panel ribbon branding matches the Primeknit upper and Boost midsole for a near Triple White look. It was truly a Sadderday this weekend when adidas re-released the adidas NMD OG and a lot of people were left empty handed. Arguably the most coveted NMD to date although it made its initial release back in 2015, many people accepted their “L” and proceeded to move on with their life. Just when you though all hope was lost, the adidas NMD OG was made available at Billionaire Boys Club?s 7 Mercer Street location in New York City. There was no heads up or announcement about this release, it was all about being in the right place at the right time. We’re pretty sure the shoe are long gone by now, but if I were you I’d keep my eyes peeled, you never know what other location could possibly be getting some pairs in the near future.

Back in March of last year, soccer star Paul Pogba inked a deal with the Three Stripes. Today we get a look at their first collaborative creation, the adidas Soccer x Paul Pogba Collection. The collection was designed with Pogba’s signature style in mind. It’s inspired by fashion and hip-hop culture and included on and off the field footwear, clothing and accessories. Everything in the collection will come with the newly designed ‘PP’ logo.

Pogba had this to say about the collection: ?I joined adidas because I believed that it would let me express my creativity on and off the pitch. After wearing a number of one-off bespoke boots on the pitch, I wanted to take things to the next level.?

When it comes to the footwear, the adidas ACE17+ Pure Control Boost is one of the sand out options. Just like the entire collection, it comes in a Black and Gold aesthetic and additional features such as extra gold plating, a marbled pattern on the upper, ?Pogboom? etched on the webbing and the trademark ?PP? logo on the webbing and tongue. The entire adidas Soccer x Paul Pogba Collection is now available exclusively at Colette Paris, while North America locations will release both the footwear and apparel on January 17th.

adidas has taken the time to unveil their latest iteration of the Pure Boost for 2017. Making its debut as one of the first sneakers that used their Boost technology, the Pure Boost returns in 2017 with a brand new look.

The adidas Pure Boost features a versatile, agile and adaptive design to enable runners to endure anything the city environment has to offer. New features of the Pure Boost include an 8mm heel lift and progressive sculpting of the BOOST midsole, with a wider forefront for optimum support. The outsole is also built for the specific requirements of street running, with the rubber extended on the medial side for additional support. The stretch web design provides superior grip, while allowing the foot to work in harmony with the BOOST midsole. Meanwhile a new knit upper incorporates a highly adaptive upper that moves with the runner?s gait. A new double wrap tongue construction provides support but also allows the foot to move in harmony with the upper.

The black/white colorway will release on January 18th and the black will release on January 25th. Both pairs will retail for $140. More colorways are then expected to release on February 1st.

While there is no official award for “shoe brand of the year”, we can safely establish that adidas earned that unwritten honor two years running. 2015 was won off the strength of Yeezy, Stan, and Ultra Boost. 2016 was a runaway W thanks to NMD and the continuing success of the aforementioned silos. Now, adidas enters the crucial third year of this emergence, and it may be the EQT that will help the brand tighten their grip on the game.
