More Air Max Day 2018 releases have just been announced. This trio of Air Max 180s celebrate the impact of Holtgreve, Morandini and Steadman?s art. Each artist gets their own Air Max 180 that’s said to be inspired by their 180 Air work from way back in 1991.
Alfons Holtgreve (German), produced a dynamic black-and-white abstract work suggestive of frenetic athletic activity. For the Holtgreve Air Max 180, a Black premium leather is contrasted by the textured White material to mimic the surface of paper and serves as a nod to the intricate paper cutting of the original artwork.
Marcello Morandini (Italian), offered a colorful mix of pattern and perspective. The Morandini Air Max 180 captures the color and energy of his artwork with mismatching aglets adding extra fun/humor to the design.
Ralph Steadman (Welsh) shared an illustration that mined Aesop?s Fables for inspiration (with 180 Air, the hare might actually have its day, he thought). Done in an OG Ultramarine theme, the model features a shaggy taupe suede upper detailed with Steadman?s artwork on the tongues.
All three Nike Air Max 180 colorways will release tomorrow, March 12th on Nike.com with pairs exclusive to NikePlus members in North America. Customization of three characters under the heel Swoosh is available for those who choose the option.
