Nike Is Releasing More Colorways Of The Classic Spiridon

Nike Sportswear recently updated the Air Zoom Spiridon with a modernized ‘Ultra’ reconstruction, but they aren’t done with the OG version yet, as we’ll soon get the chance at three more all-new colorways. Today we get a first preview of one of the three, featuring an Armory Navy mesh and synthetic upper with Industrial Blue accents for a decidedly blue affair. And of course, it couldn’t be a Spiridon without the reflective piping. The result is an all-new colorway that looks like it very well could have released back in ’97. Expect these to release later this summer, and stay tuned for an exact drop date.

Three Los Angeles Natives Give Their Take On The Nike Cortez

Particular Nike models are heavily associated with certain areas and demographics. The Nike Air Force 1 has thrived for some long thanks to the strong sneaker culture in New York City, hence the ‘Uptowns’ nickname. The Nike Air Max 97 has a strong following in Italy thanks to the iconic “Silver Bullet” colorway that took off there. Foamposites will always be associated with the DMV and Prince George County. As for the Nike Cortez, the shoe has been a staple in Los Angeles since debuting in 1972.

Today, Nike News released an official story on the two Los Angeles-themed colorways that dropped earlier this morning in the Nike Cortez “Long Beach” and Nike Cortez “Compton” celebrating 45 years of cultural importance in Southern California. They talked to LA staples like legendary tattoo artist Mister Cartoon, designer Janae Roubleau, and model Alexis Quintero. Check out the full story over on Nike News and grab your favorite Nike Cortez pair right now via Nike.com.

Draymond Green Will Be Debuting The Brand New Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit Tonight

Warriors. Cavaliers. Game 1. NBA Finals. You ready!? Who you got? One thing we should all keep a close eye on is the footwear on the players feet. One thing we do know is that Draymond Green will be debuting the brand new Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit you see above.

This brand new Nike Basketball model excels in being comfortable, supportive and is full of responsive energy return. What really sets this pair apart from past Nike Basketball offerings is the fact that it comes with the brand new Nike React cushioning which is Nike most innovative iteration of the model since the shoe made its debut 9 years ago. The upper comes in Flyknit fashion while the outsole rocks a pressure-mapped design that provides enhanced traction.

This is what Draymond Green had to say about the shoe:

?To be the first to wear the latest Hyperdunk means the world to me, we?re talking about Nike Basketball here, the biggest athletes in the world and being the first one to actually try this new technology is amazing. Mom, I made it. When you?re talking about Nike, you?re talking things that last for decades,? says Green. ?This shoe is lightweight, it has a resilience in it. It has the bounce so it keeps me sprinting and moving around just like I want to.?

The Nike React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit has no release date yet but we’re pretty sure priccing and release info is sure to follow. So far so good, right?

A Sneak Peak At The Nike Kyrie 3 N7

This year’s Nike Basketball N7 Collection will include the Nike Kyrie 3. Set to release later on this month, today we get a first look at the Nike Kyrie 3 N7.

For those of you not too familiar with what the N7 is, it’s basically a fund that’s committed to inspiring and enabling participation in sport for Native American and Aboriginal populations in North America. They believe that sport has the power to unleash human potential and that a physically active lifestyle promotes more than exercise.

The Nike Kyrie 3 N7 is seen in a White, University Gold and Black color scheme. It comes with an all-White upper accented by the University Gold hits noted on the Swoosh, lining and tongue. A good amount of Black contrast can be found on the medial side of the heel, exposed Flywire and the rubber outsole. Branding is found by way of the Kyrie logos and the N7 hit on the tongue tags. Set to release on June 21st for $120, stay tuned as more info and images of this shoe begin to surface.

First Look At The Nike Kyrie 3 N7

We missed out on the annual Nike Basketball N7 initiative for a number of signature models this year. For the uninformed, Nike’s N7 program is worthwhile opportunity to support Native American Heritage Month every November to honor their community and resilience against adversity through exclusive apparel and footwear. Proceeds support youth sports programs in the Native American and Aborigine communities to ensure a brighter future on and off the competitive playing fields. Today we get a look at the Nike Kyrie 3 N7 sample featuring an electric combination of University Gold, Black, and White. The Kyrie 3 N7 features a gradient Swoosh with additional speckling similar to what we saw on the extremely limited Kyrie 3 EYBL offering while the N7 logo hits the tongue. The pair didn’t release back in November because the Kyrie 3 was rolled out in December instead of the usual pre-season introduction. If you want a pair, there are youth sized samples floating around right now on eBay. An official release date is scheduled for June 21st.

Where To Buy The Nike Cortez

Long before the days of Flyknit, Zoom, and Air, Nike was a company that relied on leather, rubber, and a striking new Swoosh logo designed by Carolyn Davidson in 1971 (then a student at Portland State University). The Nike Cortez, which debuted originally as the Corsair marathon shoe in the late 60s, is without question the most famous Nike sneaker in the pre-innovation era and certainly one of the brand’s best recognizable shoes in history. Thanks to its adoption by Los Angeles street culture and a minor yet impactful role in the film Forrest Gump, the clean and simple Cortez became a pop culture icon. The Cortez was actually big in NY as well before East Coast as a whole began moving towards the Air Force 1 and Reeboks.

Tomorrow, Nike is re-introducing the Cortez to mainstream culture with a huge marketing campaign that includes an endless array of colorways, Compton and LBC-specific designs, and an Instagram “influencer” who is a mainstay on fashion magazine covers. Those who have laced up the Cortez with unflinching loyalty have a deaf ear to all this hoopla, but for the rest who are uninformed, get familiar with one of Nike’s best shoes in history. The Nike Cortez in the original white/red/blue releases tomorrow on Nike.com and at select retailers like Sneaker Politics for $80 (prices may vary depending on retailer).
