Marquette University has been rocking all kinds of Jordan heat throughout the season, and we’re grateful for the fact that their Twitter account always keeps us updated on what’s coming next on a game by game basis. Next up is this awesome Air Jordan 30 “University Blue” pair featuring a sleek combination of white and sky blue Flyweave throughout. Sure, the overall aesthetic mirrors Mike’s alma mater UNC more than it does Marquette, but there’s no denying that the color blocking is a step up from last year’s Air Jordan XX9. What do you think of this Jordan XXX colorway? Be sure to check out detailed photos below and we’ll keep you updated on more Jordan release dates right here on Sneaker News.
While Gamma Green consisted as the latest variation of the Jordan Eclipse for grade school sizes, the lifestyle silhouette is introduced in another makeup this season, specifically for men’s sizing.
Flaunting a predominantly blue palette, a darker hue is utilized for its mesh upper, lining and tongue, while a lighter tone is prominent on its leather side panels which bear minute perforations throughout. Supplemented atop a clean white full-length sole unit, the midsole portion is detailed with navy speckling to perfectly coordinate with its theme.
Finished off with Jumpman branding on the tongue tab and rear section, you can purchase this latest variation of the model at select JB retailers overseas first.
In various colorways, I’m a fan of this model. This rendition is a good example. The colorway is executed well and the silhouette isn’t that bad either in terms of appeal.

One of the only known pairs not in the possession of Melo himself, this unicorn sneaker is available now on eBay.

Sneaker Grails: Gary Paytons Air Jordan 12 Los Angeles Lakers Player Exclusives
By SoleInsider
Two weeks ago, Nike unveiled their SNKRS Experience in Los Angeles for NBA All-Star Weekend. For poor schmucks like me who were unable to make the trip to Toronto, it was a nice slice of the madness that featured some of the biggest releases from All-Star, including Nike’s full slate of kicks, the Air Jordan XXX and the return of the Air Jordan 4 White/Cement. But the real highlight for me were the kicks that were on display and NOT ON SALE at SNKRS, including player exclusives from the likes of Kobe Bryant and Ron Harper, rarities like the Pit Crew 3s and even the Eminem x Carthartt 4s. But for me the real gem was an Air Jordan 12 in white and Laker gold with “The Glove” stitched on the heel, indicating its player exclusive status. It’s the property of one Gary Payton, only one of my favorite players of all-time wearing one of my favorite kicks of all-time.
We romanticize Kobe Bryant’s time as a sneaker free agent during the 2002-03 NBA season and the variety and freedom he had in what kicks he could wear. What we didn’t realize at the time was that a year later, a new teammate would come in and practically overshadow Mamba with enough Jordan exclusives to make even the most jaded sneakerhead cry with joy. GP’s lone year in Los Angeles had him rocking purple and gold exclusives of retros and Team Jordans alike and they were all high up on there on the fire meter. But it was those 12s, man. Imagine the Air Jordan 12 The Master with a purple mudguard with gold aglets and eyelets? Yo…
Seeing GP in Jordans during that time was actually pretty mind-boggling if you think about it. Like Jason Kidd, GP was a superstar for the swoosh during the 90s but both made the switch over to Jordan Brand during the early part of the 2000s as veterans who were not being asked to carry brand but rather give it some credibility. It even showed in the commercials they starred in. Who would have thought The Glove would go from this…
…to this?
Yeah, as happy I am that super-serious, ring-chasing, Jordan-wearing Gary Payton eventually got his in Miami, I miss old trash-talking GP who didn’t mind wearing a super afro.
But at least we have those Jordans to show for that brief era of Gary Payton’s career, so I guess it all worked out in the end. Well, except for the part where I don’t have a pair of these. Welp, I guess that’s why I write these Sneaker Grails entries as a sort of therapy.
This latest iteration of the Air Jordan 2 is set to be a part of the upcoming “Poster” collection, that also happens to included the Air Jordan 12 The Master. Dubbed the Air Jordan 2 Wing It, the shoe is inspired by a Jordan Brand ad campaign that came out back in 1986, the same year that the Air Jordan 2 made its debut. As a part of that campaign, Jordan Brand released a poster that shows Michael Jordan’s feet wearing the brand new Air Jordan 2 while soaring in the sky, with the phrase “WING IT” placed right under it.
The Air Jordan 2 Wing It will come in a color scheme that’s very similar to the pair that Jordan is wearing in the poster. The shoe is constructed out of a white textured leather upper offset by the black accents found on the midsole, laces, heel and lining. The dark grey tongue will house the Jordan Wings logo, while the heel tab will have the words “WING” and “IT.” to complete the theme of the shoe.

Juan Carrillo, News: I’ve newer owned any pairs of 2s, only because the colors that have dropped lately are not rally to my liking. Although this version is fairly subtle, it manages to work quite well in my opinion. The theme/inspiration behind the shoe is alright, but I’m more into the look of the shoe, which I can totally see myself wearing.

Jordan Brand Signs Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher Marcus Stroman
By SoleInsider
With David Price departing to greener pastures in Boston, the Toronto Blue Jays have not only lost the ace on their staff, but a bonafide Jordan fanatic that takes the mound in cleated Jordan Retros every week. Jordan Brand filled that void quickly by signing New York native Marcus Stroman, the young Blue Jays pitcher that after getting some playing time in the 2015 postseason, is ready to for the limelight and perhaps take on that ace role somewhere down the line in his career. Stroman may not be a household name just yet, but being signed to Jordan Brand is indeed a step toward the right direction. Check out Marcus and his latest delivery from Jordan Brand below.
Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher Marcus Stroman Signs With Jordan Brand
By SoleInsider
Jordan Brand continues to make moves in “The 6″ as they attempt to make their presence felt up North in Toronto/Canada.
The brand has just announced that they have signed Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman to a deal as the pitcher just posted this picture on his Twitter account where he’s sitting next to a bunch of Jordan Brand cleats.
Since Jordan Brand athlete David Price left Toronto to sign with the Boston Red Sox this off-season, Jordan Brand must have felt that they needed another presence in the T. Dot and Stroman was their man.
As you all know, there’s going to be several of different colorways of the Air Jordan 5 Low to choose from this year. Several different options have already dropped, while several more are on their way. One colorway that we still don’t when it’s going to drop is the one you see above. With an obvious correlation to a Knicks theme, let’s go on ahead and take a closer look at the Air Jordan 5 Low Knicks .
The Jordan 5 Low starts off with w Deep Royal Blue taking care of the nubuck base of the shoe. The same hue can be seen on the laces and eyelets of the shoe. Adding some sharp contrast and creating the Knicks theme are the Team Orange hits placed on the branding, lace lock, the inside of the tongue and the shark teeth design placed on the white midsole. Clean netting on the side panels, a grey 3M tongue and an icy translucent outsole complete the major features on the shoe. No word yet on when the shoe will release but there’s a rumor going around that we could see this release drop as early as next month. Priced at $175, are you looking to pick up?
This would probably be picked up if I were a Knicks fan, but since I am not and I am not really a fan of the silhouette I will not. I have a feeling this would be much more hyped if they had released in a mid-top cut. Ah, well.
The Reebok Question Unworn Is Allen Iverson’s Greatest “What If?” Sneaker
The lifestyle Jordan Eclipse is introduced in a new colorway of Gamma Green this season, which is particularly a grade school exclusive only.
Essentially aimed for the warmer seasons, the defining tone is prominent across its mesh upper, which offers a lightweight feel and superb comfort during daily wear. Additional pops of lime green are applied for its piping on the side panels and behind the tongue to further pronounce its already vibrant palette as well.
To top of its eye-catching profile, the model rests atop a clean white sole unit, although accentuated with slight green speckling to perfectly coordinate with its theme, the outsole receives enhanced grooves to ensure sufficient traction as well as cushioning. Other notable details include miniature branding on the tongue tab, as it’s rounded out with matching laces and Jumpman branding on the rear.
You can purchase this latest colorway of the silhouette at select JB stockists now for a price tag of $85.
Other than rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis, it looks like New York Knicks fans don’t have much to look forward to (yet again) this year. But if you happen to be a Knicks fan that’s also into Air Jordans, than here’s one bright spot for you in the latter part of the 2015-16 season: the all-new Air Jordan 5 Low in a colorway for your squad. The blue, orange, and white combination will be the perfect match with your new Kristaps jersey all summer long. We still have no confirmation on a US release date for the Air Jordan 5 Low “Knicks”, but it looks like they’re dropping in Asia on March 1st, so expect them on or around that date in New York and everywhere else in the States.
