Championship season in the NBA is in full effect as LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently celebrating becoming 2016 NBA Champs.

Jordan Brand will also be celebrating Michael Jordan’s 3rd NBA Championship this weekend with the Air Jordan 8 Championship Pack. The collection will feature two colorways of the Air Jordan 8 inspired by the championship trophy and confetti. Here are some new images of the Trophy pair which features a Light Bone leather upper with perforations appearing on the side panels and around the ankle. Golden accents then appear on the signature cross straps, outsole and slightly above the midsole. The gold accents by the midsole feature finger prints that symbolize Michael Jordan and his teammates passing around the Larry O?Brien trophy in celebration.

Michael Jordan didn’t make as much money as today’s players while he played in the NBA, but the GOAT has made lots of money since he stepped away from the hardwood. Thanks to his sneakers, his investment in the Charlotte Hornets and a few other businesses, Jordan is now a billionaire.

So what does MJ do with all that money? We’re not really sure, but what we do know is that from time to time he gives back to the community. The Charlotte Observer recently reported that MJ has donated $500,000 in charities working with literacy in Charlotte. Along with the $500,000 donation, Michael Jordan and the other contributing partners will also cover the cost of building and stocking 18 libraries with books at preschools, child care centers, community centers and education nonprofits in the city?s low-income areas.

?When I took over majority control of the team, one of the biggest impacts I wanted … was to reconnect back to the community,? Jordan told hundreds of volunteers gathered Monday at Time Warner Cable Arena for the day of service. ?I felt (that connection) was lost a little bit with the previous ownership, and I felt it was very important. Six years later, here we are. … I am very proud of the commitment of the organization to the community. … My dedication, my drive, is to continue to connect with this community.”

Since becoming majority owner of the Hornets, Jordan and the team have given away more than $3 million for causes related to education, hunger, wellness and the military.

Jordan Brand released a white and blue colorway of the Air Jordan 2 Low a couple of weeks ago which took inspiration from Michael Jordan’s days at North Carolina.

This weekend we see the North Carolina inspiration make a return but this time on the Air Jordan 12 which has undoubtedly been the most popular silhouette of 2016 so far. Looking at this new colorway we can see that it comes dressed in Wolf Grey tumbled leather throughout the majority of the upper with pops of University Blue on the side panels, outsole, and the Jumpman on the tongue. Midnight Navy has then been placed on the inner liner as well as on the heel tab. Finishing off the look is White which lands on the mudguard, midsole and outsole.

Comprised of a fused jacquard knit textile for its composition, an elephant pattern is intertwined and focalized on the toe box and tongue for exotic flair. Reinforced with a lightweight synthetic perforated side panels, additional elements include a translucent TPU overlay on the heel that promotes more protection.

Pops of infrared adorn the outsole, Jumpman logo across its rear and tongue to finish it all off.

Two decades since the introduction of the Air Jordan 12, the iconic basketball silhouette is set to be unveiled in a new colorway that celebrates MJ’s alma mater — the University of North Carolina.

Exhibiting elegant luxury appeal with its grey/white-colored tumbled leather upper and sole unit, the silhouette is pronounced with hits of blue adorning the miniature branded side panels, pull tabs and rear portion to encapsulate the respective theme. The successor to the Jordan Super.Fly 4 is finally revealed, as Los Angeles Clippers’ star forward, Blake Griffin and his high-flying game, has inspired the new Jordan Super.Fly 5.

Sporting versatile construction consists of a lightweight upper, inner sleeve and forefoot Zoom Air unit that ensures lightweight responsiveness and ultimate lockdown — the sneaker’s design flaunts a cleaner look, while a knitted motif on the upper adds distinct appeal to its overall makeup.

Also featuring artwork by English artist, James Roper, he combined the explosive playing style of Griffin and vibrant artistic illustrations.

The sneaker will debut in three colorways at Nike and JB accounts starting in China first on June 30th, while a global release date is scheduled for August 1st.

Last weekend we saw the release of the Air Jordan 12 GS Hyper Violet, which many guys were disappointed didn’t release in men’s sizes. If that pair had you salty then this new Barons colorway will probably be more bad news.

Draped in a premium White leather upper, this GS exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan 12 is then hit with Wolf Grey detailing on the mudguard, midsole, outsole and heel. Hits of Black can then be seen on the tongue branding, upper eyelets, heel and side panel branding, and finally on the outsole. It is rumored that this colorway of the Air Jordan 12 takes inspiration from the Birmingham Barons, the minor league baseball team that Michael Jordan played for the first time he retired.
