The Jordan 5 Gold Tongue keeps things relatively simple thanks to a clean white remastered leather upper with matching side panel mesh, a high-contrast black midsole, and an icy outsole. The real call to attention here is the Metallic Gold Coin accents throughout, found in the form of a patent leather tongue and on the mustang fighter jet-inspired shark teeth, speckled with black to match the midsole. Interestingly enough, this Olympic-referencing retro skips out on any American affiliation as the usual red, white, and blue colorway is absent for a new twist that instead focuses on the prize at hand – the Olympic Gold Medal.

Come September 3rd, one of the biggest Jordan Brand releases of 2016 will finally be releasing to the public. I’m talking about the Air Jordan 1 High OG Bred! Done in remastered fashion, this version of the Jordan 1 Bred appears to be using very similar leather quality as the Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard that dropped last year. The Red leather appears to have more of a tumble/texture compared to the smoother looking Black leather on the shoe. Nike branding appears on the tongue, while the traditional White/Red combination is placed on the midsole/outsole. Releasing on September 3rd for $160, how many of you are looking forward to picking up a pair? Or two?

Wrapping up the month of August will be the release of the Air Jordan 11 Low Closing Ceremony, also known as the Metallic Gold colorway. This low top version of the Air Jordan 11 features a premium White leather upper with a contrasting Metallic Gold patent leather mudguard wrapping around the entire upper. What feud? There have been rumors swirling about Eminem plotting to diss Drake from Slaughterhouse artist Joe Budden for quite some time, but that all ended Tuesday night when Drake made a stop in Detroit on his Summer Sixteen Tour and brought out the legendary emcee. The two performed their 2009 hit “Forever” while wearing Air Jordan 4s. Both artists have lasting partnerships with Jordan Brand and Drake even opted to wear Eminem’s incredibly limited Carhartt Air Jordan 4. Eminem opted for a clean pair of White/Cement 4s instead of taking the stage in any of Drizzy’s OVO collaborative efforts. We’ll have to see how this one-sided Joe Budden vs Drake feud all plays out, but for now, Drake paid homage to one of the greatest emcees of all time by bringing him out in his hometown. Smart.
