The Jordan Six Rings Is Coming Back

jordan-six-rings-2017-retros-1

It’s been awhile since we’ve last seen the Jordan Six Rings, a hybrid model that combines the signature silhouettes Mike wore during all six of his NBA championships. The shoe got a little crazy and oversaturated the last time we saw it back in 2014, as it featured patent leathers, elephant print, and even football cleat PEs. Now we get word that the Jordan 6 Rings is coming back later this year in some simpler colorways to start, but time will only tell if it regains the confidence to sport color combinations like this one. The updated mudguard features new paint speckling and a tumbled leather while accents like Navy/Red-White and White/Royal-Black will release later this year. Stay tuned for more of this hybrid in the future right here on Sneaker News.

First Look At The Jordan Ultra Fly 2

You might remember the debut Jordan Ultra Fly as the head-turning almost alien-like model that an on-fire Jimmy Butler wore during the Bulls playoff push last season. The Kurim upper was flexible and unique enough to warrant your attention, and showed that Jordan Brand was willing to experiment with their on-court models while the retro release slate held down the purists out there. Today we get a look at the sequel, and there’s no denying that the Jordan Ultra Fly 2 is heavily influenced by the Air Jordan 15.

You can tell right away based on the Ultra Fly’s tongue, one that juts out in a similar ‘Flight’ inspired motif as the Jordan 15 retro. The slip-on mesh upper even features a woven-like pattern until it gives way to the modern Tape-esque tech on the mudguard for lockdown support. There’s Zoom Air to hold down the cushioning system while a wavy midsole adds unique definition to the otherwise retro-based model. What do you think of the look?

Continue onward for a full look at the coming Jordan Ultra Fly 2 and we’ll keep you updated on a stateside release right here on Sneaker News. In the meantime, the first Ultra Fly is available for a discount right now on Nike.com.

Jordan Brand Reveals Upcoming Air Jordan 31 Low Colorways

Jordan Brand entered full March Madness mode when they showcased some Jordan 31 Low PEs for their sponsored college teams headed into the annual tournament, and you could actually grab them at retail if you were a fan of the likes of UNC, Michigan, Georgetown, Marquette, or Cal State. If you’re looking for some unaffiliated colorways though, we have some good news for you.

Jordan Brand just previewed three new upcoming colorways of their latest performance model, as the usual Flyweave gradient perfectly matches the premium leather tongue and heel in the low-top variation. We might even go as far to say as we prefer the Air Jordan 31 Low to its normal mid-top counterpart. Sure, the Swoosh branding is ditched entirely here as is the overall Air Jordan 1 motif, but with a UNC-esque Navy/Carolina Blue, simple Black/White, and White/Ice options, these will all look great both on and off the court.

Check out some slick GIFs of the coming Jordan 31 Low colorways for Spring 2017 and be sure to head over to our Jordan Release Dates page for an updated look at all of the coming Jumpman attractions for the months ahead.

Air Jordan 31 Low Spring 2017 Colorways

More variations of the Air Jordan 31 Low were offered recently in respective university colorways to perfectly coordinate with March Madness. Now, a preview of its Sprig 2017 lineup is unveiled, courtesy of Jordan Brand.

Featuring three pairs in total — Triple White, Black/White, and Blue/White — the pristine version extends the brand?s summer look, while the blue and white edition is inspired by the brand?s collegiate roots. Finally, the traditional black/white edition exudes a stealthy vibe, as each pair is completely Swooshless to exude a more minimalist style. Additional, the enlarged Jumpman and wings logo remains intact across the heel.

All adhered atop a white midsole unit and translucent outsole, expect to find these pairs at Jordan Brand and Nike retailers in the coming months ahead.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for further updates.

NBA 2K17 Kicks: The Many Ways The Air Jordan 6 Gatorade Could Go Right (Or Wrong)

Later this year, a reported Air Jordan 6 colorway is dropping that will borrow the colors of the world’s most famous sports drink, Gatorade. Decked out in green, orange, and white, the retro is hopefully going to show us what it’s like to Be Like Mike, the famous Gatorade commercial were MJ is seen wearing a pair of Carmine 6s. In an era where virtually everything related to MJ is getting a tribute sneaker, whether it be movies to shattered backboards to Chinese New Year, what’s most amazing about the Air Jordan 6 Gatorade is not that we’re finally getting a sneaker that references one of Michael Jordan’s most famous endorsement deals, but that it took so long to come to fruition. Maybe because green, orange, and white on an Air Jordan 6 sounds like a great idea, until you actually have to execute.

It’s certainly taken a turn for the colorful over the past few years, but many of the most talked about and beloved Air Jordan 6 colorways have skewed towards simplicity over the flash. Not that the Air Jordan 6 All-Star colorway is bad by any means, but there’s why that retro continues to drop in price but other more sedated drops like this past weekend’s Air Jordan 6 Alternate garners more attention. With a green, orange, and white palette, we’ve already seen two potential ways the shoe could go. So in this week’s edition of NBA 2K17 Kicks, we’re taking a look at the many ways the potential Air Jordan 6 can go right and the ways it can go oh-so-wrong.
