Presenting The Just Don x Jordan Brand Collegiate Collection

Jordan Brand and Just Don have come together to release a new apparel collaboration known as the Jordan x Just Don Collegiate Collection.

Michael Jordan revolutionized basketball from top to bottom. No one flew like Mike before he played the game, and no one dressed like him either.

?It?s sort of why Mike is the epitome of a redefinition of basketball culture and modern civilization,? explains Don C, aka Just Don, a Jordan Brand collaborator and Chicago native.

Through the late 1970s, players wore what came with the uniform: a pair of short shorts that stopped at the upper thigh.

You can see how short they were in the NBA logo itself: shorts cut off way above the knee. They were designed this way so that players wouldn?t get tripped up by extra fabric and the shorts would stay out of the way of the ball on crossovers.

But Jordan demanded a baggier fit ? and where he went, so went the entire sport. By 1993 the ?Fab Five? jumped on the bandwagon and solidified the look, and that was that. Baggy shorts were here to stay.

Shorts got longer all over the league until 1997, shortly before Jordan?s second retirement, when Commissioner David Stern implemented an often-ignored rule governing the length of shorts (they couldn?t be lower than an inch above the knee). Stern followed up the 1997 rule with a full dress code with requirements for before, during and after games, shortly after Jordan?s ultimate retirement in 2005.

Today, shorts are getting shorter again as street fashion moves to a preference for slimmer fits. It?s a trend players utilize off the court, and it has bled onto the court as players choose uniforms and sizes that fit closer to their bodies and move with them.

The long shorts may have had their heyday in the 1990s and will always be emblematic of that era, but the look remains a part of the zeitgeist thanks in part to Don C?s work at Just Don, where he designs and manufactures luxury athletic shorts with a 1990s silhouette and aesthetic. Bold colors and graphics meet updated details and impeccable construction, blending together on shorts that are as opulent as they?ve ever been.

After bringing his luxury take to three pairs of Jordan 2s over the past three years, applying his process to Jordan Brand shorts is a natural next step.

The Just Don x Jordan Brand Collegiate Collection will be available at the below retailers from 10.14.17.

Pomb graduated from the University of Brasilia with a degree in Industrial Design. He considers himself not only a graffiti artist but also a self-taught illustrator. At the young age of thirteen, his murals were already making their way throughout Brazil, and as an adult his work has now made its. His work is inspired by the environment, animals, and their vibrant colors.

The design was inspired by ?roots? a manifestation of who we truly are, our ethos. It represents our history, the richness of our culture, myths and diversity. Everything is intertwined in the roots of our essence: indigenous people, Africans, immigrants. From the beautiful and unique nature, to the concrete jungle metropolis, it all makes us who we are today. Pomb believes it?s under our skin and intrinsic to our souls.

The Air Jordan 1 High comes with a Black upper covered in a laser/graphic print throughout the shoe. The most unique part part of the shoe is without a doubt the colorful artwork noted on the toe box, tongue and insoles. Our First Look At The Air Jordan 1 High Satin Shadow

Another satin-constructed colorway of the Air Jordan 1 is coming out way. This time around the overall construction differs quite a bit from the Bred and Royal iterations that dropped earlier this year.

Dubbed the Air Jordan 1 High Satin Shadow, this stand out version of the classic Air Jordan 1 silhouette will come dressed in the classic Black and Grey color scheme. The shoe uses satin on the upper, but this time around the use of satin is paired up with corduroy panels and chenille Nike Swoosh logos to add another dimension to the satin motif. The two-toned upper is then paired up with a White midsole and Grey outsole to complete the Shadow aesthetics of the shoe.

Expected to release early on in 2018 for $175, how many of you are looking forward to the Air Jordan 1 High Satin Shadow?

The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 17 Could End Up Dropping This Month

Dear Marcus, can you please fill us all in as and let us know when the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 17 will drop? Any kind of release info would be kindly appreciated. We’ve heard that it going to be limited to 5,000 pairs. Is that true? The latest rumor suggests that it could end up dropping this month? It that true?

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, most sneaker blogs have dubbed the Air Jordan 17 you see above the upcoming collab with Trophy Room. The supposed Trophy Room x Air Jordan 17 comes with a Grey suede upper offset by the Gold accents placed throughout. Black and White hits on both the upper and sole unit round out the minimal aesthetics of the shoe. My guess is that new info will be arriving sooner rather than later. In the mean time take a look at the latest images of the shoe and be sure to book mark our Trophy Room x Air Jordan 17 hub page where you will find the latest release info.
