Making its debut next month, here are official images of the adidas Dame 8 in the Dash Grey colorway.

The adidas Dame 8 is the brand?s first basketball shoe that comes equipped with 50% recycled materials. It will come constructed out of a mix of mesh and synthetic overlays while opting to keep the similar shape as the other two previous adidas Dame releases. The adidas Dam 8 midsole replaces Lightstrike with Bounce Pro Foam while having a slightly modified outsole from the adidas Dame 7. The Dame 8 also includes a unique traction pattern on its rubber outsole that help you make quick cuts, pivots, and full-speed stops feel effortless.

This adidas Dame 8 is done in a Dash Grey/Grey One-Clear Mint colorway where Grey and Black take care of the majority of the sneaker, while Clear Mint is used on the branding.

Last week adidas launched their pop-up shop for one day only in New York City that focused on sustainable fashion. Linked to the brand?s larger Choose to Give Back initiative which was unveiled earlier this year, the pop-up opened on December 11th and included a range of one-of-a-kind, vintage and upcycled collections from some of the leading voices in sustainable fashion, including Theophilio, Ji Won Choi, Basketcase Gallery, Eva Joan Repair, Frankie Collective, Beepy Bella, and Tyranny & Mutation.

As part of adidas? ongoing mission to help End Plastic Waste, and in an effort to motivate consumers to properly dispose of clothing and other goods they no longer need this holiday season, all pieces on display at the pop-up shop were be available for purchase not in dollars, but for weight in worn goods.

The one-of-a-kind experience for sustainable fashion gave guests an opportunity to walk through the pop-up shop and engage with a range of creators from Basketcase Gallery; who did live screen-printing during the event to Eva Joan Repair who did on-site repairs and customizations for consumers during the day-only pop-up shop.

To purchase an item, consumers had to clean up their closet and trade in the associated weight in used clothing, shoes or gear for points. For each half pound of textile waste turned in, guests were credited with one point, which they can then put towards pieces from the various collections.

?Sustainability is instrumental in how we produce our pieces, so we are thrilled to be developing a bespoke collection made entirely of upcycled product from a brand that shares in our values,? shared Theophilio designer and 2021 CFDA emerging designer winner Edvin Thompson.

Today, adidas Originals marks its intent for Web3 with its first NFT drop of digital and physical products. Known for celebrating ideas and partnering with creators at the cutting edge of originality, the brand?s journey into the Metaverse is inspired by and presented in partnership with some of the most influential icons of the NFT community.
