The adidas Springblade running silhouette is back in a couple of new color variations for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. Previously rendered in boot form for a collaboration with Rick Owens, the innovative runner has been done up in a predominantly mesh upper for increased breathability, while the proprietary polymer blades feature in contrasting colorways. Available in both mens? Solyce and women?s Nanaya models, pick up this season?s Springblade runners for approximately $205 USD each from adidas locations across the globe.

Fans of the adidas Springblade will be happy to hear that the adidas is planning on releasing new colorways for the upcoming Spring/Summer season. The new colorways will come constructed out of a mesh upper to help with the breathability of the shoe. Of course, the most noticeable feature lies in the blade design placed under the shoe. The proprietary polymer blades will come in contrasting colorways that help offset the look of the upper. Available in both mens? Solyce and women?s Nanaya models, you’ll be able to pick up either pair for $205 at select retailers in the near future.

Author’s Take

I’ve always wondered how these felt on your feet. I always thought they would break, but I’ve seen plenty of YouTube videos to know that these are pretty sturdy.

The adidas ZX Flux Plus Olive Is Looking Pretty Clean

adidas ZX Flux Plus 1 adidas ZX Flux Plus 2 adidas ZX Flux Plus 3 adidas ZX Flux Plus 4

The adidas ZX Flux Plus keeps the releases coming and this time around it opts to give its upper a tonal look that has the shoe covered in a predominantly all-olive colored upper. The subtle look of the shoe paired up with the neutral color makes the shoe a versatile offering.

The shoe comes constructed out of a sock-like neoprene Olive colored upper that has a lacing system that’s very similar to the Y-3 Retro Boost. Another feature on the upper is the white heel cage that adds a nice contrast to the shoe and also manages to blend right in with the white sole unit found below. The rear end of the shoe comes with 3 horizontal that surely represent the adidas Three Stripe branding on the shoe. Available now for $110, who’s looking to pick up a pair?

Author’s Take

I’m a sucker for Olive colored sneakers. I may not be a huge fan of the model, but when I see it in this colorway it kind of makes me want to own a pair. Good looking shoe, at least in this colorway.

adidas Used Cork Midsoles On The Stan Smith

Cork-laden sneakers have been a hit or miss affair. LeBron’s signature line has often utilized the material during off-season NSW releases, and the Nike Air Max 95 even featured an awesome cork aesthetic – it just came with some unwanted squeaking when walking. adidas Originals is now using the material, as this clean white premium leather rendition of the classic adidas Stan Smith utilizes cork tooling on the midsole for an interesting twist. This women’s exclusive also manages a premium black suede heel tab for some depth. Are you feeling this colorway? Check out more below.

First Look At The adidas NMD City Sock PK

adidas NMD City Sock PK 1 adidas NMD City Sock PK 2 adidas NMD City Sock PK 3

The adidas NMD made its debut only a couple of months ago, but adidas is not wasting any time in creating and unveiling new versions of the shoe. Today we get our first look at what adidas is calling the adidas NMD City Sock PK.

This version of the NMD comes in a mid-top build done out of a Primeknit construction. The major difference between the original NMD release and this pair is the fact that this pair is more of a mid-top opposed to the low-top look in the first pair. The other major difference is that this shoe has more of a stripped down look being that the laces and heel cage are removed from the shoe. An addition to the shoe comes in the form of the serial number branding found on the medial side of the shoe as well as the branding on the heel pull tab. The sole plugs are still present, while the Boost midsole continues to come in white. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

It’s really just a sock with a Boost sole under it. I need a little bit more than that if I’m going to pay more than $100 which I am assuming that’s what the retail price is going to be.

adidas Tubular Radial Fleece Available

adidas-tubular-radial-fleece-available

The adidas Tubular Radial is finally here in that coveted “Fleece” aesthetic previewed not too long ago. Adding the sweatpant-like material to your feet has been a popular trend in the sneaker world, with Nike Sportswear outfitting some of their most coveted current models in Tech Fleece. adidas is answering back with this cool grey fleece look of their own, as the Tubular Radial harkens back to the OG 1993 installment of the Tubular series quite well. The most noticeable retro feature is the overlay, taken directly from the original model. A bolstered suede heel contrasts the marbled fleece tooling throughout to add some depth. Get with us after the break for a better view of the latest Tubular model and pick up this pair from select shops like Premier for $120.

A Hint Of Berry Lands On This New adidas Ultra Boost

adidas Ultra Boost 1 adidas Ultra Boost 2 adidas Ultra Boost 3

Earlier in the week we gave you a first look at couple of sample/potential upcoming release colorways of the adidas Ultra Boost. The first featured a white/multicolor upper with a red heel counter and the second was highlighted by chocolate accents.

Now we have another treat for fans of the Ultra Boost with this all-white colorway. In addition to the all-white Primeknit upper we see a berry heel counter that sits atop the all-white BOOST midsole. If it wasn’t for the berry hit on the heel this would look like the all-white pair that was made popular by Kanye West.

There’s a possibility that this Berry heel colorway may be hitting adidas retailers in the future so stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for any updates.

Author’s Take

There should have been a lot more “berry” on different areas of the shoe. This just looks like someone took an all-white Ultra Boost and painted the heel counter.

James Harden Wore An adidas Crazylight Boost 2015 That Tracked His Movements

adidas Crazylight Boost 2015 2 adidas Crazylight Boost 2015 1

If you caught the Rockets vs Trailblazers game yesterday then you may have noticed that James Harden was wearing a new colorway of the adidas Crazylight Boost 2015.

It was a new all-white colorway that was hit with hand-drawn black speckling along the entire side of each shoe. It turns out that this was a custom job by the people over at adidas as they were using the pattern that was drawn on Harden’s Crazylight Boost 2015 to map movement that allows them to work on the cushioning, stability, and traction of the shoe. These are all things that will come in handy when adidas creates Harden’s upcoming signature shoe which they appear to already be working on.

Pretty cool technology is you ask me. Are you looking forward to James Harden’s first signature shoe with adidas?

via: Houston Rockets

Author’s Take

This is some really cool technology being used by adidas. There’s nothing like tracking a player’s movements while he’s actually playing in a game because it allows them to see exactly what types of foot movements James does on a daily basis.

Foot Locker Has An Exclusive Pair Of The adidas NMD

adidas NMD 1 adidas NMD 2

The adidas NMD just might be adidas’ most popular sneaker at the moment behind the adidas Yeezy line and the adidas Ultra Boost. Fans of BOOST technology have fallen in love with the new silhouette that draws inspiration from adidas runners of the past.

Every time a new colorway releases it sells out pretty quickly and this pair should be no different. Foot Locker has collaborated with adidas to create this new pair that features an all-black Primeknit upper with black and red detailing on the overlays of the white BOOST midsole. There is no evident Foot Locker branding on this pair of NMDs but it appears that they’re exclusive to only Foot Locker Europe making them extremely difficult to get our hands on them for those of us stateside.

Would you like to see these get a stateside release? Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for updates in the future on a potential US drop.

Author’s Take

I’m sure that many fans of the NMD are disappointed that they’ll never be able to their hands on this colorway. Oh well I guess, we can’t have it all.

Author’s Take

It’s cool to see adidas give a lifestyle look to one of their newest popular basketball sneakers. I like the olive upper but i’m not too sure about going with suede as the material of choice.

adidas Releases The Superstar Strap Globally

The rise in popularity of Yohji Yamamoto’s adidas Y-3 imprint has led to adidas Originals imitating some of the sleeker designs to appease those who wouldn’t readily shell out the usual $300-$400 for a Y-3 pair. That thought process has been readily apparent with the Tubular and Boost series and now another silhouette is benefiting from the overhaul: the adidas Superstar. Let’s be clear that this isn’t by any means a new model. In fact, a few years back the three stripes released this women’s exclusive adidas Superstar Strap featuring crisscrossing neoprene straps and a slip-on construction similar to the Qasa series. It didn’t do all that well back then, as it came and went in a flash and was forgotten quickly. Now adidas is hoping the changing atmosphere and how we look at lifestyle sneakers will also change how this pair is recieved. Two simple colorways are available for purchase in a subtle black and white exclusive to a women’s size run once again. Check out more photos below and know that international retailers like Titolo have started stocking this pair.

adidas Just Won Legal Battle Of Their Three Parallel Stripes Branding

adidas stripes adidas-logo

Ever since I was a kid, I would see plenty of shoes rocking the stripes-on-the-side look. Only problem is, not all the shoes rocking the stripes were adidas. Many brands have decided to mimic the adidas Three Stripe look without their proper consent. adidas has not taken than lightly and it appears as if they finally took legal action to stop the wrongdoing.

It has been reported that the Court of Justice of the Europen Union has ruled that adidas can now oppose the trademark registration of parallel stripes on the side of sport-related sneakers designed by other brands. One reason adidas has decided to move forward with this is because back in 2009 there was a Belgian company called Shoe Branding Europe that filed an application to register as a trademark the two forward slashes on the side of their shoes. Although we all know adidas uses three stripes, the similarities are too similar between the two that it’s easy to mistake the two. This caused adidas to oppose the registration, but surprisingly it was dismissed on the basis that the two designs were “significantly” different. Fast-forward to a few years later and in May of 2015 the General Court has now sided with adidas’s argument now saying that the marks were not different enough being that the stripes were parallel, had the same distance between each other and shared the same width, colors and contrasting base color. Essentially it was the same look except for the lack of the extra stripe.

This latest decision has the Court of Justice uphold the General Court’s stance. A definite win for adidas.
