adidas Unveils The PureBOOST DPR

adidas has just unveiled the its latest addition to the PureBOOST franchise with the introduction of the new PureBOOST DPR.

This new version of the PureBOOST features the latest application of adidas? industry leading BOOST technology, with a new 8mm heel-to-toe offset. Creating a natural BOOST platform that stores and unleashes energy more effectively every time it hits the ground, the shoe enables runners to truly feel the streets. When developing the PureBOOST DPR, adidas looked at the needs of the urban runner and designed a shoe that is as dynamic and adaptable as they are. PureBOOST DPR was created to support runners in dodging traffic, racing street lights and weaving through pedestrians, working with the unpredictable surroundings and harnessing its energy.

?All over the world, runners are exploring cities and expressing their own creativity in the routes they choose and the challenges they take on,? said Stephan Schneider, product manager at adidas Global Running. ?We wanted to build something purely designed for this type of runner, and loved the idea of creating a more adaptive running experience. This led us to design an 8mm heel-to-offset, that when paired with signature BOOST technology allows the feet to sit lower, deeper, and much closer to the streets.?

Key features of the PureBOOST DPR include a one-piece engineered circular knit upper, heel fit counter system, wider forefoot, stretchweb outsole, and of course BOOST technology.

The adidas PureBOOST DPR will release on May 18th for $150 with the LTD version retailing for $170 on adidas.com and select adidas retailers.

The Pharrell adidas Tennis HU Releases Globally This Saturday

It looks like the Pharrell adidas Tennis Hu will also release stateside this Saturday, May 6th in 2 debut colorways referencing some of the three stripe’s most storied early tennis offerings. Pharrell made major strides with adidas Originals last summer by debuting the adidas NMD Human Race Collection, and this Summer 2017 he will take his eclectic and unmistakable eye for design further with what adidas is calling his first ever signature silhouette in the adidas Tennis Hu.

The Tennis Hu takes major design cues based on the adidas Stan Smith tennis model, but with a more breathable execution thanks to the technological advances found through the woven Primeknit material. The ever-flexible textile stretches with the foot and leaves plenty of ventilation possibilities perfect for the heat this summer season. An EVA midsole might skip out on Boost, but does get creative through a waffle structure. The debut White/Green colorway will immediately remind you of the Stan Smith but has a global twist based on the idea that Pharrell ‘plays for the human race’ both in the music and fashion worlds. What do you think of Pharrell’s latest footwear release? Check out more detailed shots below and grab your pair on Saturday, May 6th for $130 from select retailers and on adidas.com.

The New adidas PureBOOST DPR Is Slightly Different From The Original

It takes a lot of organic “hype” for sneakerheads to adopt innovations as casual wear options. Nike succeeded big time with Air Max and Flyknit, the two innovations that drove revenue upwards and away from the competition. adidas, which never really had one of those “turning point” moments, currently owns the most popular innovation in sneakers. And whether you agree with it or not, BOOST is considered “innovation”, despite the majority of consumers using it for casual use. BOOST debuted back in 2013, but despite global marketing schemes, it didn’t become popular until sneakerheads grew to like the Ultra Boost and NMD, and right now adidas is experiencing a boom that Nike relished in before.

At this point, adidas can add a BOOST midsole onto any shoe and it will at the very least grab the attention of sneakerheads everywhere (ex: the Iniki Boost). adidas has proven to be less rigid with the confines of “innovation” as they’ve used the trendy cushion on shoes that are strictly for casual wear, and we’ve only seen the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Simply put, the gap between the two brands is closing fast.

The adidas Pure BOOST running shoe debuted earlier this year, and while it was marketed as a running shoe, it didn’t seem the perfect fit for the activity. For one, the shoes featured a strange fold-over tongue and really served no purpose. Thankfully, a revised version of the Pure Boost shoe is available with a conventional tongue, and this new DPR version features a 8mm heel-to-toe offset, bringing runners closer to the ground. Two colorways are set for a release on May 18th at a $150 pricepoint, with LTD versions set for $170 (not pictured).

These Are The Five Top Shoes The Helped adidas Sales Experience Growth During First Quarter Of 2017

We all know adidas is winning, but when it comes to numbers, how much does “winning” equate to? The latest news reports that adidas sales has increased by 18.9% ($6.04 billion USD) in the first quarter of 2017. In return, this also means that the operating profit has also risen by 28.8% to $637.3 million USD.

It is also being reported that this was driven by increased sale in every part of the world, with the exception of Russia. The two countries with the biggest increases was North America (31%)and China (30%).

adidas? chief executive officer, Kasper Rorsted, also pointed out that that growth they’ve experienced was thanks in large part to ?consumer demand for our products was strong across the world.?

2016 was a record-breaking year for adidas. If they keep going down the same path this year, 2017 will also be a “new” record breaking year and could also very well be the first year that adidas profits break the $1 billion USD mark. Winning.

According to NPD?s Sports Industry Analyst Matt Powell, the five shoes that the spearheaded the first quarter growth of 2017 was the adidas Originals Superstar, the adidas NMD, the adidas Tubular Shadow, the adidas Alpha Bounce and the adidas Originals Stan Smith. How many of you own any of the pairs listed above?

Marcus Jordan And adidas Originals Engage In Friendly Banter On Twitter

Marcus Jordan and adidas have a surprisingly long history that just got a new chapter thanks to this playful Twitter banter a few hours ago. Marcus played college ball at the University of Central Florida and didn’t want to abide by UCF’s adidas sponsorship. All he wanted to do was hoop in his dad’s Air Jordan retros. That decision ended up costing UCF upwards of $3 million and their adidas sponsorship which was eventually paid for by Nike and His Airness. Earlier today, Marcus tweeted out that his dad flexed on him with a pair that he won’t go into detail describing which had one Twitter user playfully suggesting that maybe Mike finally gave in and threw on some Yeezys. The adidas Originals official account then tweeted out a grandpa emoji, only for Marcus to reply with something that can loosely be translated to ‘my dad’s the G.O.A.T. and stocks are rising’. It’s safe to say that Trophy Room won’t have an adidas account anytime soon.

WISH & SneakerBoy To Release adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange PureBOOST & ClimaCOOL

Sneakerboy has made a huge impact in the world of sneakers in their relatively short time outfitting Australia with the latest heat, and now they’ll collaborate with veterans Wish ATL through adidas Consortium’s ongoing world tour. The two global footwear connoisseurs have never teamed up before but now have the three stripes to thank for this coming jellyfish-inspired adidas Pure Boost and adidas ClimaCOOL each slated to release globally on May 20th, 2017.

Sneakerboy’s stores are all located on the Australian Coast and the shop took inspiration from the world’s deadliest jellyfish and its translucent glow in the dark qualities for a truly hypnotizing take on the Pure Boost and ClimaCool silhouettes. Each takes an updated Primeknit woven approach with lime green luminescence to reference a similar jellyfish breed showcased at the Georgia Aquarium down the road from Wish ATL. Both retail locations will have early dibs on their project, with a release via Sneakerboy.com and WishATL.com dropping the duo on May 13th.

Check out more detailed shots of the coming adidas Consortium collaboration with WISH ATL and Sneakerboy Australia below and head over to our Release Dates page for more coming offerings from the three stripes.
