Helping address the issue of plastic waste, the adidas Clean Classics collection consists of a range of court classic sneakers redesigned to reduce the brand?s impact on the environment. This is done by completely changing the construction of the shoes by utilizing Primegreen, a series of high-performance materials containing a minimum of 50% recycled content.
The adidas Clean Classics includes the Superstar, Stan Smith, Continental 80, Top Ten, SC Premiere, Supercourt and Superstar Bold. These remade versions of your favorite model come equipped with the following:
The soles are made from a more sustainable compound of 90% natural rubber and 10% recycled rubber. Natural rubber is a renewable resource, tapped from rubber trees.
Sockliners are made either from recycled OrthoLite (15% recycled OrthoLite, 6% Bio-oil and 5% recycled rubber) or cork, a renewable material , recyclable and non-toxic.
By re-thinking pattern cutting, the Clean Classics collection not only reduces unnecessary waste, but also creates distinctive, new cuts and details.
Laces are made from paper
adidas is using leftover stock of our box material, no longer useable because of changes or mistakes in the print, to create Clean Classics packaging. The boxes will be cut efficiently, creating random print patterns that differ from box to box.
BLOOM Foam is made using algae-harvesting technology that helps to keep our lakes clean and promotes clean water.
Special Clean Classics emblems can be found throughout, as a reminder of the brand?s commitment. The composite nature of the sole creates a bricolage effect of color flecks throughout. Leaving the clean white upper?s mostly unadorned, pops of color can be found on the laces and stylistic text.
