The Next Nike Kobe 11 4KB Release Features Gum Soles

We’re confident that Kobe Bryant is a different animal and the same beast during the early days of his retirement. And if Nike Basketball has showed us anything after the Mamba’s last game, it’s that his signature models will continue to thrive well after his jersey hangs in the Staples Center’s rafters. Take this Kobe 11 Elite “4KB” as the perfect example of a high-performance model complete with a lifestyle ready aesthetic.

The Nike Kobe 11 Elite returns in another premium colorway, as the Flyknit upper manages to blend a black to olive gradient with just the right amount of red accents for a decidedly militaristic vibe. Nike is still altering the heel panels too, as a leather construction adds jagged cuts, additional perforations, and an all-seeing eye logo. Gum outsoles add the perfect casual finish to this tonal Kobe 11 Elite pair.

What do you think of the look? There’s still no word on a release date just yet, but stick with us right here on Sneaker News for more updates in the near future. More photos below.

The Nike Air Python Returns In Copper Snake

It’s always fun to see what trends didn’t quite stick from a few years back. While synthetic snakeskin graphics and patterns were one of the major trends a couple of years ago before the current wave of simplified woven uppers, the Nike Air Python was doing it decades earlier.

Created in 1987, the Nike Python lifestyle classic utilized an aesthetic somewhere in between the Air Jordan 2 and the Nike Dunk, adding snakeskin to the fold for a luxurious head-turning look. Nike Sportswear emboldened the model with a number of modern updates ranging from an Iridescent colorway to a timely monochromatic all red. Today we get a look at a new “Copper Snake” option that adds a realistic anaconda inspired graphic to the fold.

The fierce look features aggressive alternating speckles of black and metallic copper imitating an anaconda’s skin to near perfection. What do you think of the Nike Python’s return? Check out more detailed photos below and we’ll keep you updated on a release date right here on Sneaker News.

I like the two-tone palette and how the thematic design is bold, but still subdued. It?s another nice colorway for the line in my view. Plus, the value it holds has a special meaning.

I?m a fan of the sneaker in general and this colorway is pretty appealing. It?s a nice tribute to the summer games as well, but an Olympic colorway would?ve been nicer in my opinion.

The Womens Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra Atomic Pink Is One Of The Best Colorways Yet

Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra 1 Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra 2 Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra 3

Although the Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra released not too long ago, Nike has already given us a handful of dope colorways to choose from. With that being that case, I’m pretty confident when I say the the women’s Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra Atomic Pink you see above is one of the cleanest colorways of them all. It’s so clean, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit to see lots of guys picking up a pair for themselves.

This women’s Nike Air Presto Flyknit Ultra comes dressed in an Atomic Pink Flyknit upper that matches up perfectly with the Clear Jade accents noted on the rear portion of the sole and eyelets. The synthetic lacing cage system and toe cap along with the sock-like collar also comes in Atomic Pink. Cleaning the aesthetics of the shoe a bit is the White midsole noted below. Available now at select retailer, how many women (and men) are picking up this new colorway of the Flyknit Presto?

Author’s Take

Easily one of the top 3 colorways of the model. I could care less that it’s a women’s colorway, i’d be more than willing to pick up a pair.

Sneaker Grails: Vince Carters Golden Nike Shox BB4

Project Blitz Project Blitz Project Blitz

In the year 2000 (LaBamba from Conan voice), Vince Carter jumped over France. Ok, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. While the 2000 edition of Team USA Basketball often gets lost in the conversation between the highs of the 1992 squad and the lows of 2004, they do have the signature moment ever since pros have been allowed to play when Vince leaped over poor Frederic Weis in Sydney. It’s a moment that’s been replayed over and over and over and probably introduced more than a few people to the Geto Boys (word to Kazaa and Limewire). Lord only knows what the reaction on social media would have been had that dunk taken place now.

But not only does the 2000 squad get the shaft when it comes to appreciation for its roster, but they also are the neglected brother when it comes to their sneaker game. Yes, Ray Allen and Vin Baker wore the Air Jordan 6 Olympics, but compared to the love for what was worn in by the squads in 1992, 1996 and even 2008, it’s not even close. While nobody is saying anything that the 2000 squad wore was better than the Nike Air Max More Uptempo or the Nike Zoom Flight 96, it’s a shame they don’t get even some shine. There are plenty of gems from that team, including the Nike Shox BB4 that were the precursor to Vince’s short-lived signature shoe line and Kevin Garnett’s Nike Flightposite II. Nike even had the guts to make special gold versions of the BB4 and the Flightposite II for the medal rounds and what’s even cooler is that the team actually had the guts to wear them.

2000 Olympics 1 2000 Olympics 2 2000 Olympics 3 2000 Olympics 4 2000 Olympics 5 2000 Olympics 6 2000 Olympics 7 2000 Olympics 8 2000 Olympics 9

We know about the Gold Medal versions of the Nike Zoom Kobe 7, Nike KD 4 and the Nike LeBron 10 that didn’t make it out of the box during the 2012 Olympics. Whether it’s a respect for the other team or the fear of jinxing a run, Team USA hasn’t really done much flaunting since the early days, which you can probably credit to the program run by Jerry Colangelo and Coach Mike Krzyzewski. But in 2000, Vince, Alllan Houston, Jason Kidd, Antonio McDyess, Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Tim Hardaway all wore the Navy and Gold colorway of the Nike Shox BB4 while KG wore the gold Flightposite II during the finale in a move of sheer confidence against of all teams, France.

With so much nostalgia being heaped upon the 1996 Team USA squad at the moment since it’s celebrating their 20-year anniversary, here’s hoping in 2020 we get a re-up on the 2000 squad, especially since my favorite player of all the times (Alonzo Mourning) is on there and had one last run as an elite player before a kidney ailment robbed him off his prime years playing at a high level. And hopefully we get a retro of the navy and gold BB4 as people start to year for that and the nostalgia for Vince’s best year stars to grow.

Another Supreme x Nike SB Collaboration Is On The Way

Supreme x Nike SB 1 Supreme x Nike SB 2 Supreme x Nike SB 3

Fans of Supreme and Nike SB won’t have to wait much longer for their latest highly anticipated collaboration. Supreme and Nike SB have linked up numerous time over the years and this time around it appears as if the shoe of choice is none other than the Nike SB Blazer Low GT. Here is a sneak peak at the Supreme x Nike SB Blazer Low GT.

Coming in tonal fashion, the Supreme x Nike SB Blazer Low GT comes in an Olive hue done in suede with hits of leather placed in areas such as the heel tab and Swoosh. The provided images show that the shoe comes with Supreme branding on the heel, on the Red insoles and dual branding on the tongue. ‘FTW’ is embossed on the heel tab, and a gum bottom sole unit is placed below. There could possibly be more colorways on this collab, but as of right now this is the only colorway that’s been leaked. Rumored to be releasing by the end of August, let us know your initial thoughts.

Author’s Take

I’m not a fan of Supreme, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Supreme enthusiasts wish there was more going on with the collar. It just seems to plain in my opinion.
