Look Out For The Nike Hyperdunk Lux
By SoleInsider
The Nike Hyperdunk Lux, which is a more fashion-inclined iteration of the basketball silhouette, is showcased in more detail, particularly in its classic black/white colorway.
Defined by an all-woven upper that replaces its traditional Hyperfuse construction, the application of soft leather is also seen on the mudguard for a touch of premium flair. In addition, patent leather overlays adorn the toe, eyestay and collar, as the blacked-out upper is nicely offset by a clean, white full-length rubber sole unit.
Other notable elements include a matching laces, flywire system that offers sufficient lockdown and distinctive branding located on the tongue, as well as on the heels.
This pair is suggested to make its debut at select Nike retailers on July 4th, but stay tune for further confirmation and updates.
In celebration of the 2016 Summer Olympics which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August, the classic Nike Air Max BW will pay tribute to the historic sporting event with a special commemorative colorway.
Although, it initially released in 1996 during the Atlanta Olympics, followed by a retro in 2004, the sneaker is simply draped in a USA theme. Navy dominates its upper construction which is accentuated with white accents encompassing the component.
Encapsulating the patriotic theme is evident with bright pops of red gracing the Swoosh across its side panels, branding on the tongue and on the heel, which also bears a custom American flag embroidery.
Retailing for $120, you can purchase this pair at select Nike retailers nationwide now, while a wider release is expected for July 7th.
First Look At NikeLabs Collaboration With Louis Vuittons Kim Jones
By SoleInsider
NikeLab continues to branch into the world of high fashion by collaborating with Louis Vuitton?s menswear ready-to-wear line director Kim Jones. Now based on a teaser shot from Kim’s Instagram, we know that the apparel collection will also feature at least one upcoming footwear model. The silhouette is still an anonymous selection and may just be a completely new model overall, and features ‘Kim Jones’ on the heel tab. Jones has said that his NikeLab collection will hit stores in July. Stay tuned for more updates on the coveted collaboration right here on Sneaker News.
Nike running’s “Big Window” model, the Nike Air Classic BW continues to bring OG heat to the table, as this USA-inspired Olympic offering is finally hitting retailers. This patriotic colorway was first produced for athletes in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics and stayed a PE for quite some time until finally arriving at stores during 2004’s Olympic celebration. It became an instant hit for its unique heel logo featuring an American flag complete with a Nike Swoosh instead of the usual stars. ‘USA’ lands on each tongue while a navy, red, and white color selection holds down the upper for star-spangled goodness. What do you think of the look? This pair was originally slated for a July 7th release date, but you can head over to shops like Rock City Kicks to purchase your size today for $120 USD.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Wu-Tang (Optic Yellow) Drops In A Couple Of Days
By SoleInsider
This upcoming variation of the Nike Air Foamposite One perfectly suits summer, as the shiny yellow hue defines its overall aesthetic.
Although many suggest it’s affiliated with ?Wu-Tang,? it actually isn?t, but, the colorway is reflective of the hip-hop group?s signature colors. Essentially covering the basketball sneaker’s molded upper, accents of black that is primarily located on the eye stays, inner lining, carbon fiber shank and sole unit finishes off the two-tone profile.
Priced at $230, you can purchase a pair at select Nike stockists this Friday, June 24th.
This is one of my favorite bball silhouettes aside from Jordans. I?m a fan of the colorway, but it?s too bright for my taste. I?m sure these will garner a lot of attention ? on purpose or not.
The Air Jordan 8 Championship Celebration Pack Completes The First Trifecta
The Nike KD 8 deserved better. As a performance basketball shoe, it was the logical next step following the Nike KD 7; it featured a new articulated Zoom Air unit and a Flyweave upper that improved upon its predecessor in every which way. The silhouette itself was slim and sleek and did away with some of the extraneous stuff that was found on the KD 7. The results showed on the the court as Kevin Durant had a bounce back year in the KD 8 after dealing with injuries the season prior.
But then it was priced at $180 and the first colorways did not pop the sneaker community like other KD debuts such as NERF Nike Zoom KD 4 or the Seat Pleasant Nike KD 6. KD promoted the shoe heavily over the summer and rocked them in a lot of colorways on the court that we would actually be able to purchase, but for one reason or another, the KD 8 just sat on shelves. Was it the price? Was it Stephen Curry and Under Armour stealing his uh, thunder as the most fun scorer to watch in the game? Was it the colorways that felt uninspired and did not take advantage of the promise of Flyweave upper (aka the same upper found on the the Air Jordan XX9 and XXX)? KD the person did all that he could to make KD the shoe a thing, but it just wasn’t enough. When we saw the Nike KD 9 introduced way ahead of schedule and priced for $30 less than the 8, it felt like Nike course correcting and getting back to what the KDs a hit in the first place.
With the KD 9 soft launching across the country this week, we couldn’t leave KD 8 behind in Nike outlet stores just yet, as much as the community really wants to it seems. Here are our picks for the 10 Nike KD 8 Colorways That Weren’t So Bad. If that doesn’t inspire confidence that you should pick up a pair of KD 8s right now, I don’t know what will (there should be a snarky emoji in there somewhere)
Nike KD 8 Elite Away
Nike
How to make this a fire sneaker:
Buy the shoe at the Nike Outlet for less than $100
Go home and grab a pair of scissors
Cut the sleeve
Enjoy your championship colorway
Nike KD 8 BHM
Nike
Nike’s Black History Month collection has seen diminishing returns at least on the sales side with each passing year. While it absolutely makes sense for the brand to continue honoring African-Americans who have made great contributions to both sports and society, the sneakers themselves have not garnered the same attention as they had previously. Call it fatigue or lack of inspiring design, but when the same themed sneaker drops like clockwork every year, it creates a familiarity that softens the impact.
Nike KD 8 EXT Floral
Nike
Did Derrick Rose holler at Nike for gimmick infringement? Between the black, red, white and floral print, it’s not hard to imagine seeing this on an adidas D Rose sneaker. We’ll let it slide because these are a cool example of what was possible for the KD 8. The shoe needed more creative prints such as these that exploited the potential of the Flyweave upper, which used a textile material.
Nike KD 8 All-Star
Nike
After a sedated 2015 All-Star Game collection, Nike brought back the color for 2016 and the KD 8 was modeled after the international appeal of the city of Toronto and how it attracts people from all over the world. This is sociology on a sneaker and the little touches like the removable patches that highlight KD’s All-Star accomplishments only add to the beauty of the shoe.
Nike KD 8 4th Of July
Nike
For the Nike KD 7, one of their most popular NIKEiD options was the Fireworks as it gave the shoe’s Posite heel a celebratory feel. The KD 8 went to the Fireworks Factory again with the release of the KD 8 4th Of July colorway. The pops of blue and red on the Flyweave upper was promising because at the time it seemed to hint that Nike was going to be go crazy with the graphics on the KD 8 (think the awesome Photo Reel Air Jordan XX9). It did not turn out to be case, unfortunately.
Nike KD 8 N7
Nike
KD’s ties to the Nike’s N7 initiative has been going on for a few years now and this year’s iteration is one of the best KD N7s so far. The glow-in-the-dark outsole is complimented by a special graphic print featuring the work of Native American artist, Bunky Echo-Hawk, a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. He is known for his live art installations that bring to light his influences that debunk Native American stereotypes but also respectfully honor his heritage.
Nike KD 8 Sabertooth Tiger
Nike
One of the first things we heard about the Nike KD 8 was how it was influenced by a Sabertooth Tiger. Well, it only made sense that a Sabertooth Tiger colorway would drop, but who knew that it could double as a Sabretooth cosplay sneaker?
Nike KD 8 Aunt Pearl
Nike
You can find the Nike KD 8 Aunt Pearl at any store for around $99. That was impossible as recently as a year ago. Despite being another great Aunt Pearl tribute colorway, it just shows you the fatigue the sneakerhead community has towards the same themed kicks every year and the apathy for the KD 8.
Nike KD 8 Perseverance
Nike
This Asia-exclusive colorway of the Nike KD 8 Perseverance features the Chinese national flower, the Plum Blossom, on the tongue of the shoe. It’s the perfect nickname because it highlights the struggle and actual perseverance KD had in order to get back to the superstar level that we all know that was still inside of him. It’s a shame that this pair never released in the US proper because it could have been a colorway that shined a very positive light on the KD 8.
Nike KD 8 EXT Vachetta Tan
Nike
Vachetta Tan became the new hotness in sneakers during the early part of 2016 thanks to Nike’s use of the material on the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle and various other classic silhouettes. The KD 8 also got the nod and rather ironically, it is the best iteration of the KD 8. You might not want to rock these on the court because they are designed to be a lifestyle sneaker, but they are the eye-catcher that the shoe desperately needed but were in short supply of throughout its cycle. And no, the KD 8 What The is not what this shoe needs…
NikeLab Unveils The NikeCourt x Roger Federer Collection
By SoleInsider
The NikeCourt x Roger Federer collaboration is officially introduced, as it’s noted as part of NikeLab?s Summer of Sport celebration.
Comprised of off-court apparel and footwear that embodies the tennis superstar’s graceful style of play, Federer?s insights into the lineup ranged from material, color and silhouette preferences. In terms of footwear, two tonal variations of the Tennis Classic Ultra Flyknit consisting of navy and grey will be offered.
Additionally, graphics and zippers that connect to the 17-time Grand Slam champion?s legacy, alongside grosgrain detailing will be evident throughout the lineup of apparel, while also reflecting his appreciation of premium craftsmanship.
You can find the entire lineup of items exclusive at NikeLab 1948 LDN on June 23 first, with a global release to follow at select locations on June 30th.
Cool collab. I like the silhouette’s simplistic design overall and I’m biased towards these tonal offerings. They’re versatile and stylish for everyday wear.

The Nike Air Max 96 Returns Missing A Major Original Detail
By SoleInsider
We learned earlier this year that Nike would bring back the Nike Air Max 96 this year, two decades after the initial release. First images of the upcoming Retro release reveal that while the upper appears to fairly true to form, the midsole is clearly not the original version, but rather the updated Air Max 95 Ultra sole that debuted last year. The midsole is the most costly reproduction factor of shoes in general, so it appears that Nike chose to re-use the Ultra version to justify this likely one-time-only release. A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but expect the two most recognizable colorways from 1996 – the “Concord” as well as the white/navy/neon – to hit stores soon.

Featuring two pairs in white with one pair accentuated with red accents and the other incorporating black for a timeless look, the third pair is rendered in tonal grey with white detailing to round out the line. Defined by its Hyperfuse and Flywire design, the basketball sneaker is topped off with notable branding along the heel, tongue and insoles.
Expect these pairs to drop at select Nike retailers on July 5th.
The classic Nike Air Huarache continues to receive more colorways throughout the season, as it’s now offered in a new Night Maroon finish.
Complemented with tonal black/anthracite adorning the breathable mesh underlays, synthetic leather overlays and distinctive heel cage system, the defining hue is more prominent on its neoprene bootie construction. All adhered atop a clean, white midsole unit and black outsole, the model is finished off with matching black laces and notable branding on the tongue and rear.
You can find this tricolored pair at select Nike retailers worldwide now.
Last offered in multicolor and potion colorways, Nike Flyknit Zoom Agility receives a new finish just in time to kick-off summer, as the trainer is treated in mixture of white/cool grey and volt.
Defined by its sock-like composition that hugs your foot, the one-piece knitted upper also offers lightweight support, a comfortable feel and breathability that gives dynamic stability and support in all the right places.
Streaks of volt accents are prominent across the side panels, insoles and outsole, while cool grey accents are applied on the Swoosh branding and sole unit. Other details include matching laces and pull tabs on the heel.
You can find this women’s pair at select Nike retailers starting tomorrow, June 23 for a retail price tag of $150.
I’m a fan of the silhouette’s design and construction. Even though it’s only listed for women, the pair looks versatile enough for all genders as well.

Nike Brings Back The Air Pegasus 92 For The Olympics
By SoleInsider
The Nike Air Pegasus 92 will be added to this year’s list of 2016 Olympic releases.
Nike decided to take this OG color out of the vault which features a suede, mesh and leather upper. The majority of the shoe is done in white with red accents landing on the branding on the side panels and tongue, as well as on the outsole. Midnight Navy lands on the side panels and tongue tag while a hit of gold on the midsole and heel counter completes the USA theme. A nice added detail is the USA Track and Field logo on the tongue and on the heel.
Look for this patriotic Nike Air Pegasus 92 at select Nike retailers in the near future for a retail price of $115.
Another Nike Sock Dart With A Gum Bottom Just Released
By SoleInsider
Remember the Nike Sock Dart that we showed you last week which featured a Navy upper with a Gum outsole? Well if you were feeling the gum outsole you’ll be pretty happy to see Nike continue the trend.
The ladies once again get blessed with another Nike Sock Dart that features a gum outsole, but this time around the traditional knit upper has been done in Maroon. Minimal hits of contrast have been added courtesy of Noble Red on the heel, brass-colored buttons on the mid-foot strap, and a white midsole.
You can look for this Maroon/Gum colorway of the Nike Sock Dart at select Nike retailers for a retail price of $130.
I was already a huge fan of the Navy/Gum colorway and I like this Maroon pair even more. The only think that could be changed is the red on the heel, it should have also been left Maroon.

Nike Also Creates A Wimbledon Nike Tennis Classic Ultra For The Ladies
By SoleInsider
We just took a look at the golden Nike Tennis Class Ultra inspired by the Wimbledon for the men. But you didn’t think that Nike forgot about the ladies, did you?
The women’s pair also takes on a golden upper but places perforations all over the leather upper and adds a painted gold Swoosh instead of a perforated one like the men’s pair. Other details include gold laces and a contrasting white Ultra sole for added comfort.
Ladies can pick up this Nike Tennis Classic Ultra now directly from nike.com for $140.
