Even after Bryant’s retirement, more variations of the Nike Kobe 11 are expected to be unveiled throughout the season in honor of his illustrious career.

A new colorway has been revealed, which consists of an eccentric graphic pattern in shades of green and black across its entire upper. Somewhat evoking his alter ego, the Black Mamba, the eye-catching theme is complemented with snakeskin textured heel tabs, metallic silver swooshes and a green translucent sole unit that perfectly coordinates with its respective theme.

This particular pair is suggested to be a grade school exclusive only and reportedly arriving at select Nike retailers starting Monday, August 8th.

Author’s Take

I’m biased towards this model. I think it’s the best-looking silhouette that’s perfect for on and off the court. The simple design has that solid lifestyle appeal. I’ll pass on this variation though.

Author’s Take

I like the two-tone palette and how the thematic design is bold, but still subdued. It?s another nice colorway for the line in my view. Plus, the value it holds has a special meaning.

Fun With NIKEiD: The Unlimited Pride Philippines Edition

Sometimes you just have to showout  for your motherland.

With the 2016 Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony just a few short days away, it’s time for everybody to start representing in the colors of their country of residence and/or origin. With everybody in the US understandably rocking the red, white and blue (and I’ve already started rocking one of my favorite pairs of Team USA kicks), I had to show some love to the Philippines as well, especially since Nike added them to their Unlimited Pride program that allows you to choose from a sizable number of flags and add on your kicks. So for this edition of Fun With NIKEiD, we created some Philippines-based colorways that any Filipino would wear with uh, pride.

Of course, the big difference between a Team USA colorway and a #SoPinoy one is the gold/yellow sun that represents the different regions of the country. We couldn’t use yellow or gold on every pair because they weren’t always available as options, but I feel like the results came out just fine, especially on the Nike KD 9. Hopefully after Kevin Durant wears the KD 9 USA during the Olympics, he will embrace the rich Asian contingent – and it’s many subcultures – that is a huge part of the Bay Area and rock something similar to the #SoPinoy style we’ve got below.

You Wont Be Able To Buy Nikes Tiger Woods Golf Gear Anymore

Nike announced today that it will no longer product select performance gear such as clubs, golf bags, and golf balls. Nike, despite having a rich stable of athletes and legends such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, has never been the top dog in the golf business, coming behind golf-specific brands like Callaway and TaylorMade (owned by adidas). Nike’s golf business has been on steady decline since 2013, and this news raises a few questions regarding the athletes that have contracts with the Swoosh. They will likely take a pay-cut now that they are presumably free to pursue endorsement contracts with other brands.Nike brand president Trevor Edwards says that the brand is committed to being the undisputed leader in golf footwear and apparel, so you’ll at least get to wear your Flyknits and Dunks for the green.

Nike Brought Back Uptempos From 2005s Hoop Pack

One of the more obscure colorways of the Nike Air More Uptempo, the Bulls-inspired red, black, and white colorway from the “Hoop” pack of 2005, makes a surprising comeback this summer. There’s one catch, though: they are only dropping in grade school sizing. Already released at select Foot Locker locations recently, the red-based colorway with black patent leather and reflective white accents will apparently be seeing a wider drop at additional Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com. Get an official look at the Scottie Pippen colorway here, and expect them on the shelves on August 6th.

Not familiar with the “Hoop” pack from 2005? Study up HERE.

SOULLAND and Eric Koston Celebrate Friday Nights With New Nike SB Collection

Denmark’s own SOULLAND menswear boutique is teaming up with Nike SB to celebrate the lively atmosphere surrounding Copenhagen Friday Nights with a brand new capsule. Known as the Nike Eric Koston Friday Collection, SOULLAND enlists Eric Koston’s most iconic model and his latest signature to transform the duo into lifestyle ready wears while retaining the performance qualities that make them such regular skate standouts.

The Nike SB Eric Koston 1 is back with a lifestyle aesthetic, as a premium Obsidian tumbled leather upper is accented by small Swoosh branding on the side panels. An ivory leather interior adds a luxurious touch for good measure, transforming the iconic skate classic into a shoe perfect for late nights spent skating or out on the town.

The latest Nike SB Koston 3 Hyperfeel brings the high arching Flyknit sock-like ankle support found in Nike Basketball models to the skate scene. The entire silhouette shocked upon first glance and here, thanks to a marbled Ivory and Wolf Grey upper, the subtle colorway remains visually striking and subdued all at once. The bold Fri.Day text callout on the ankle adds a unique twist.

The entire Nike Eric Koston Friday Collection between SOULLAND and Nike SB is slated to arrive at international retailers on August 12th. Check out more photos below and stay tuned for more release date updates right here on Sneaker News.
