The Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle Is Inspired By Jordans First NBA Title 25 Years Ago

The Olympics are well in our rear view mirror, so what’s with the gold, silver, and bronze? Turns out that this metallic gold-draped Air Jordan 6 retro is inspired by MJ’s first NBA title from 25 years ago, with a concept directly pulled from the Larry O’Brien trophy. Alongside the Jordan 6 is the Air Jordan 1 Low in metallic silver and Jordan slides in bronze, making up the Jordan Pinnacle Collection. All three are confirmed to release on Saturday, October 22nd on Nike.com and select retailers worldwide. Get an official look at the footwear below (photos of the bronze slides coming soon).

The Air Jordan 30.5 Combines A Jordan 31 Upper With Jordan 30 Sole

It’s only the pre-season and Jordan Brand is already breaking out rare samples of their latest and greatest Air Jordan 31. Russell Westbrook will be a major storyline throughout this NBA season with the explosive point guard taking over the reins of the Oklahoma City Thunder after Kevin Durant bolted for Golden State. While Russ will most likely be a triple double machine and a top MVP candidate throughout the regular season, he’s making noise in games that don’t even count by debuting what could be an Air Jordan 30 and Air Jordan 31 hybrid. For now, we’ll just call this pair the Air Jordan 30.5 hybrid model.\

The Air Jordan 30.5 utilizes the Flyweave upper of the Air Jordan 31, one that was inspired heavily by Mike’s first signature silhouette complete with both Jumpman and Nike Swoosh branding on the woven panels. The vibrant orange to white gradient gets even more interesting by the midsole and outsole unit, as the FlightPlate (or FlightSpeed as it was called on the Air Jordan 30) returns with its patented Zoom cushioning system. What do you think of this rare Air Jordan 30.5 PE? Check out more photos below and expect more to come from this unique hybrid in the coming weeks.

An Air Jordan 31 Hybrid PE Is Revealed

Air Jordan 31 5 Air Jordan 31 1 Air Jordan 31 4 Air Jordan 31 3 Air Jordan 31 2 Air Jordan 31

Last night?s preseason match against the Timberwolves showcased Russell Westbrook wearing a new Air Jordan 31 Hybrid PE.

Making its first debut, this rendition of the basketball silhouette is slightly different from its traditional makeup, as it has been tweaked with an AJ 30 sole unit. It’s reported that Westbrook prefers this cushioning instead. Overall, the sneaker retains its flyweave/leather upper, which was draped in bold orange with blue and white accents to perfectly coordinate with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s signature colors/

It’s unlikely these will be offered to the public, but would you be interested in this rendition instead?

Author’s Take

This makeover looks really nice. I like how it made the sneaker a bit more trim. I actually would prefer this sole unit on the XXX1 instead.

The Air Jordan 12 Low Olive Debuts In 2017

Aside from the forthcoming Playoffs, the Air Jordan 12 Low will be introduced in a brand new colorway next year as well.

With this pair rumored to be dark olive, these images suggest otherwise as it’s rendered in black across its nubuck and leather-based upper. Bright red accents evident on the Jumpman branded tongue, heel tabs and miniature panels on the sides further pronounce its profile, while it all rests atop a matching black full-length rubber sole unit.

Expect this pair to debut at select JB and Nike retailers sometime early 2017.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for further updates.

Author’s Take

I’m not really big on the low-cut design, but, this pair is an appealing colorway. Hopefully we’ll see the olive detailing once more detailed images arise.

Air Jordan 12 Low Olive

Jordan Brand brought back the Air Jordan 12 in a major way throughout 2016 by releasing over ten colorways this year ranging from Drake’s OVO x Air Jordan 12, the premium Air Jordan 12 “Wings”, and iconic classics like the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” and Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game”. Next year will be the year of the low-top, as we’ve already seen a number of Air Jordan 12 Low pairs previewed for the Spring 2017 season.

Up next is the Air Jordan 12 Low Olive, a pair that dons a premium black nubuck construction throughout while a dark olive leather hits the asymmetrical mudguard for a nice lifestyle colorway. Hints of red land on the Jumpman branding throughout for a nice change of pace. There’s no word yet on when exactly the Air Jordan 12 Low Olive will arrive at retailers, but check out a better preview below and stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.

Detailed Look At The Air Jordan 6 Hare

Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny are teaming up once again for the release of the Air Jordan 6 “Hare” for a release in March 2017. What started out as just a commercial collaboration between Nike and Warner Brothers later turned into Space Jam and now Jordan Brand is translating one of the Air Jordan 7’s more memorable colorways in the Air Jordan 7 “Hare” onto its predecessor.

The Air Jordan 6 Hare takes a simple approach to the “Hare” aesthetic with a premium combination of White and Pure Platinum throughout the upper serving as the perfect base for dark shades of Gym Red. The carrot inspired tongue found on the Air Jordan 7 is no more, as a solid Gym Red selection matches the midsole accents. The Jumpman branding returns to the heel after brief Nike Air hiatus. ‘1991’ is stitched onto the tongue to reference the original year that Michael Jordan’s sixth signature silhouette arrived at retailers.

Stay tuned for a full release date for the Air Jordan 6 in the near future, and in the meantime head on over to our Jordan release dates page for the latest and greatest from the Jumpman.

A Closer Look At The Air Jordan 6 Chameleon

Not only will the Air Jordan 6 be releasing in a new Hare colorway in 2017, but it’ll also be getting the chameleon treatment.

Expected to debut in February of 2017, this colorway of the Air Jordan 6 features a black leather upper that possesses iridescent qualities much like a chameleon does. It?s being said that the upper rubs off in similar fashion as the Air Jordan 12 Wings that released earlier this year. Additional details include iridescent detailing on the aglets and midsole, a translucent outsole, and 3M hits on the perforations on the upper.

Will this be a cop or drop for you come 2017? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more images and release details.

Author’s Take

Don’t really know how I feel about this colorway of the Air Jordan 6 yet. As of now I’m not feeling them too much.

This Is What Happens When You Put Together Bape And The Air Jordan 1

Bape 1 Bape 2 Bape 3

Earlier this year sneaker customizer Jack The Ripper created a pretty crazy custom with with the Air Jordan 3 Kobe PE that was covered in python.

Now for the Fall he’s back with another creation that brings together two sneakers to make one. Essentially a “What If” turned into reality, Jack The Ripper created a Bape x Air Jordan 1 with a completely reconstructed red and black bape camo upper. Other details include deer lining and custom Bape tags.

What are your thoughts on the Bape x Air Jordan 1 mash up by Jack The Ripper? Make sure you keep up with Jack to stay up to date with his latest creations.

Author’s Take

I’m not a fan of Bape, but these look pretty cool since I do love the Air Jordan 1. Great job by Jack!

Check How The 2016 Air Jordan 11 Space Jam Differs From The 2009 Release

The highly-anticipated 2016 Air Jordan 11 Space Jam is slightly different from previous retro iterations, as this latest gallery showcases its comparison to the 2009 counterpart.

With the 2016 version essentially staying true to its OG build, in which MJ first wore during the 1995 NBA Playoffs, the sneaker’s notable differential elements consists of a higher cut black patent leather overlay which encompasses the upper, classic Concord Jumpman branding located at the rear, in addition to the number ?45? stitched on the back heel. Furthermore, the 2016 edition will be packaged in a Looney Tunes themed box with special cartoon graphics to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary.

Priced at $220, you can purchase this standout pair at select JB and Nike retailers on Saturday, December 17.

I?m not that big fan of the higher placement of the patent leather overlay, but, this one of my favorite sneakers ever. I?m just glad it?s being released again and hopefully in lots of quantities.

The Air Jordan 6 Chameleon Drops Next Year

Air Jordan 6 Air Jordan 6 2 Air Jordan 6 1

More preview images of the forthcoming Air Jordan 6 Chameleon continue to be unveiled, as this silhouette is suggested to make its official debut next year.

As the moniker suggests, the basketball sneaker?s defining aesthetic is essentially found across its stealthy black leather upper which incorporates an iridescent finish that shifts in colors. It’s suggested that this defining element is achieved when rubbed off, a prominent feature that was first found on the Air Jordan 12 Wings. Other notable details include 3M reflective accents, iridescent lace tips and a clear translucent outsole.

Expect this model to arrive at select Nike and JB stockists starting February 2017.

Author’s Take

I like the iridescent upper and this blacked-out profile is a crowd pleaser. If the upper does rub off, it?ll be interesting what it reveals. Nonetheless, this should garner a lot of attention.

Another Look At The Air Jordan 6 Hare

Additional images of the forthcoming Air Jordan 6 Hare continue to be featured, as this latest gallery consists as the cleanest presentation yet.

Inspired by the classic bugs bunny-inspired AJ 7 Hare, the basketball sneaker is treated in a pristine finish of white with light grey accents across its leather and nubuck-based upper. The signature multicolor carrot inspired zig-zagging pattern detailing prominent on the AJ 7, has not been implemented on this design. Instead, bright tonal red is utilized for the tongue, perforated heel, midsole unit and portions of the outsole. to round out its design.

In addition, 1991 is stitched behind the tongue to represent the year that the Air Jordan 6 first released.

Suggested to retail for $190, you can expect this model to debut at select Nike and JB retailers in March 2017.

Author’s Take

I would?ve preferred it more with the multicolor detailing on the tongue. This variation look solid though, I like the colors utilized and their placement.

I’m sure lots of people will be picking up a pair simply because it was a sneaker that Kobe Bryant wore, but we would have all preferred to see the Air Jordan 3 instead. Oh well I guess.
