Will We See The Air Jordan 13 Black Cat Release With An OG Box
By SoleInsider
The Air Jordan 13 is set to make a return in 2017 as the OG White/True Red colorway is scheduled to release in the Spring. To make things better, the shoe is expected to release with an OG-inspired box much like the Air Jordan 12 did this year.
Another colorway expected to release next year is the Black Cat pair that we see above. Said to be inspired by the black panther, this Air Jordan 13 features a full black upper composed of leather and a 3M reflective detailing on the side panels. As you can see in one of the images above, this pair is also expected to drop in and OG box like the White/True Red colorway.
At the moment the Air Jordan 13 Black Cat is expected to release in the Spring of 2017. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for updates.
The Air Jordan 1 High GS Heiress Is Beginning To Arrive At Select Retailers
By SoleInsider
Not expected to release until mid-December, the Air Jordan 1 High GS Heiress/Night Maroon is already beginning to arrive at select retailers.
Featuring a buttery velvet upper done in Night Maroon, this Air Jordan 1 for the ladies is accented by Metallic Gold hits on the Swoosh logo, Wings logo on the ankle, and the Jumpman logo on the tongue. A White midsole and Night Maroon rubber outsole complete the look.
Sneaker retailer Oneness already has these available but we don’t expect them to last very long. Retail price is $140 and they are available in extended GS sizing.
Soon after it released we found out that this was the Chicago colorway of the 31 that modeled itself after the OG colorway of the Air Jordan 1. According to Nike, the Air Jordan 31 Chicago reflects on the energy of Michael Jordan?s adopted town ? a city that defined a generation of basketball culture.
?Michael was the third pick in the draft, so he came in with a mentality that he was going to have to prove himself,? recalls Howard White, VP of Jordan Brand. ?Training camp was at the Purple Hotel in Lincolnwood, Illinois and when he arrived to the city, he kept thinking ?this is where I am meant to be?. His love of being the best, and leading the team, all meshed together. The city of Chicago was looking for a winner, looking for a hero. Some say that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. So I believe that he wanted to take that challenge of being that for Chicago ? the city that drafted him.?
Michael?s defiant play on the court put Chicago at the center of the basketball universe. His competitive drive was different from any other player on the hardwood. To wit, his love for the game transcended beyond the arena: For Michael, no place represented the game?s freedom like the playground.
?Michael bonded with the kids that played at the 18th and State courts in Chicago. Before every game, he went down there and gave away a few pairs of tickets,? says White. ?Kids would line the streets waiting for their chance to see Michael drive by and the potential opportunity to see him play live.?
The Air Jordan 31 Chicago will get a wide release on November 5, 2016 for a box price of $185. How many of you plan on scooping up a pair?
Who’s ready for the return of the Air Jordan 15? If you’re a fan of the silhouette then you’ll be happy to know that it will be returning in early 2017.
Originally released back in 1999, this OG Stealth colorway of the Air Jordan 15 features a full Black upper that?s done in a combination of full grain leather and a woven material that runs across the side panels. Hits of Varsity Red can then be seen on the heel, and the branding on the tongue and toe.
At the moment the Air Jordan 15 Stealth is expected to release on January 7, 2017 for a retail price of $190. Will you cop? Let us know down below.

Author’s Take
Not a fan of the Air Jordan 15 at all. These will be an easy pass for me.
Inspired by Michael Jordan adopting the city of Chicago as his 2nd home, this upcoming colorway of the Air Jordan 31 features a combination of White and University Red atop the Flyweave and leather upper. Black detailing is then present on the Swoosh and Jumpman branding, inner liner, and the gradient midsole.
Take a look at the official images above and let us know if you plan on picking up a pair when they release on November 5, 2016. Retail price will be $185.
Noted as a range that celebrates MJ’s first NBA championship (1991), this variation of the slide is essentially elevated with more lifestyle appeal. The defining theme is prominent access its adjustable strap, while it’s nicely complemented with a clean white injected sole unit that doubles as an outsole for cushioning, durability and a lightweight feel. In addition, a Solarsoft footbed and flex grooves on the outsole offers additional comfort and natural range of motion.
Retailing for $75, you can purchase this standout slide at select JB and Nike retailers starting Saturday, October 22.
Does The Air Jordan 3 True Blue Have What It Takes To Be An Instant Sell Out On Black Friday
By SoleInsider
Black Friday is fast approaching! Accompanying this day of splurge spending is the the return of the Air Jordan 3 True Blue in OG fashion. Which leads to my next question: Does the Air Jordan 3 True Blue have what it takes to be an instant sell out release on Black Friday?
In my opinion, two major factors will prohibit from that happening.
1: The retail price of $220 is pushing a lot of people away. Look at what happened with some of the latest OG retros to be priced at $220. What do they all have in common? The were all easily accessible way after the release date. If the shoe was priced at $190, sure it’ll sell out with the quickness. At $220, I don’t know man.
Thoughts? Do you think it has what it takes? Personally, I really don’t care if it sells out on release day or not, as long as I can secure a pair, it’s all good. This could very well be my favorite Air Jordan of all time, I need a pair!
Both sneakers are notably a tribute to MJ?s first NBA championship in 1991 and essentially celebrates the 25th anniversary of that special achievement. With this particular pair showcased in a lifestyle editorial, the silhouette exudes more shimmering flair with the defining hue covering its entire leather upper.
Notable details 3M reflective accents on the heel and tongue, as well as a swooshless design for a cleaner look overall. Finally, a crisp white rubber sole unit rounds out the simplistic design.
You can purchase this standout model at select Nike and JB stockists starting Saturday, October 22nd for $160.
I really like how it looks swooshless. The colorway is pretty appealing as well and it?s a stylish pair in general. I?d prefer wearing this over the gold AJ 6, just because it?s a bit more understated.

Jordan x Nintendo: Why October 18 Should Become Jumpman Day
By SoleInsider
On October 18, 1984 (or whatever day it actually happened), the NBA banned the black and red Air Jordan 1 (or whatever shoe was actually banned) from play because they did not conform to the uniform standards at the time. Little did the league, Michael Jordan or Nike realize at the time, but that simple action would actually help build the legend of the man who would be universally recognized as the game’s greatest player and become part of what makes MJ as revered today as the day he retired.
The following year, another icon made its debut in America. On October 18, 1985, the Nintendo Entertainment System soft launched in New York before arriving in stores nationwide the following year. With an amazing lineup of games that are revered to this day, the NES was credited with saving the US video game industry after the infamous crash of the early ’80s. Over thirty years later, Nintendo is still the most recognizable name in gaming thanks to their commitment to remaining a company that is focused on games.
Two enduring icons were “born” on October 18. Both are famously associated with the color red. Both have symbols that can be referred to as Jumpman. Both companies that made them are the beneficiaries and victims of their past success because many fans simply want to rehashes of former glory. And in 2016, both are getting the celebratory retro treatment. Jordan Brand just released on a special edition Satin Air Jordan 1 alongside another retro of the Banned Air Jordan 1 and later this year, Nintendo is set to bring back the OG NES in miniature form.
October is a month that is devoid of holidays that the country can truly get behind. Sure, there’s Columbus Day, but the further we get away from 1492 and how that s**t is less about a cute rhyme and more about a bunch of nefarious craziness, we need something to replace our excuse to not have banks and post offices open for one business out of the month. My suggestion is that we turn October 18 into Jumpman Day, which sounds a lot more catchier and less confusing than Jordan x Nintendo Day. Every year we celebrate by of course not having banks and post offices open, but also by bringing back the Air Jordan 1 Banned so that we can refresh with new pairs and the NES so a new generation can experience the classic games of the past. It’s a holiday that sneakerheads and gamers can get behind and for most of us, it would be the first time something that actually happened in our lifetimes would become an actual holiday.
NBA 2K17 Kicks: Shades Of Teal On The SoleFly x Air Jordan XX3
By SoleInsider
The premium releases are getting plenty of shine this week as a handful of high-level Jordan retros and a new Nike Air Foamposite One colorway is headlining the week before Halloween Weekend. In today’s edition of NBA 2K17 Kicks, we bring the latest collaborative effort between Florida-based Solefly and Jordan Brand – the Air Jordan XX3 tribute to the Florida Marlins – into the game and just for fun, we also try to recreate their previous effort, the Air Jordan 3 Lotto, as well. The end result? We batted .500 in this go around.
No two photo sets of the SoleFly x Air Jordan XX3 are exactly alike. Obviously every photographer is going to use their own lighting techniques and shooting angle to get what they feel is the best possible image, but no shoe in recent memory looks so different depending on the shot. One set of images makes the shoe’s midsole and upper near indistinguishable, while another will tip the scale closer to a forest green even. So when it came time to finally choose which image to base the in-game off of, we went with this image taken by SoleFly founder Carlos Prieto. Shades Of Teal > Shades Of Grey
Since we were in a building mood, we also tried to bring SoleFly’s previous work on the Air Jordan 3 into the game. Getting the bright orange and yellow accents were pretty easy, but as you can see the dark navy blue (or is it deep green?) did not turn out so well in the game and is especially obvious in screenshots where the resolution is much higher than what you might see on an HDTV. Something tells me if Jimmy Butler has a pair of these lying around his house we won’t be seeing him wear them in a Bulls game anytime soon.
November is going to be an awesome month for Air Jordan 1 Retro releases. Not only will we see three of the best colorways of all time referenced with the recently announced Air Jordan 1 “Top Three”, but Jordan Brand will be bringing some heat for the traditionalists earlier in the month with the re-introduction of the remastered Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” on November 5th, 2016 for $160 USD.
It’s been over three years since we last saw the Air Jordan 1 Black Toe hit retail shelves. One of the original colorways from the Air Jordan 1’s 1985 release slate, the “Black Toe” colorway pairs a classic Chicago dose of Gym Red on the leather heel panel with a contrasting black toecap for its famed nickname. The pair seems to be right in line with past releases like the Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard and recently released Air Jordan 1 Banned with the quality control on the leather here, as official images showcase the silhouette in remastered form with beautiful touches of tumbled leather on the Gym Red accents to contrast the smooth finish on the white and black panels.
The Air Jordan 1 Black Toe sports traditional ‘Nike Air’ branding on the tongue and embossed ‘Wings’ details on the ankle collar. Check out more official photos below and grab your pair on November 5th. For more of the latest Jordan release dates, stay updated right here on Sneaker News.
Are you ready for the Air Jordan 1 “Top Three”? Jordan Brand has branched out with a number of new colorways atop Michael Jordan’s storied first signature silhouette. The likes of the fragment design and Shattered Backboard series should immediately come to mind as examples of the Jumpman’s new experimentation, but we’ve never seen an Air Jordan 1 colorway like this before.
The Air Jordan 1 Top 3 will release on November 28th, 2016 for $160 USD and features inspiration from the, you guessed it, “Top Three” Air Jordan 1 colorways of all time ranging from the Banned 1s, Royal 1s, and Chicago 1s. That holy trinity of holy grails is referenced through the numerous asymmetrical and mismatched remastered leather panels for a signature “What The” aesthetic that’s sure to have a polarizing reaction in the sneaker world. Even the classic ‘Nike Air’ tongue branding and outsoles alternate between a Varsity Red and Varsity Royal for a unique twist not seen since Nike SB’s Air Jordan 1 collaboration. What do you think of the Air Jordan 1 Top 3?
