Rihanna and PUMA are back again for a new project this time to release a new trainer. Dubbed the Fenty Puma by Rihanna Avid Trainer, this new silhouette will be making its debut in the Spring of 2018.

Seen above in two different colorways of Bay/Cherry Tomato and Vanilla Ice, this new trainer has more of a moccasin/sandal appearance as the upper is constructed out of mesh with a large opening on the tongue area of the shoe. Additional details include a bungee cord lacing system, cross straps on the toe, and PUMA branding on the toe.

The Fenty Puma by Rihanna Avid Trainer is expected to first debut overseas on March 30th followed by a stateside drop in May/June. Keep it locked to Kicks On Fire for updates.

The OG R-SYSTEM

Originally released in 1986, the PUMA RS-100 is a running sneaker that was considered extremely advanced for its time. This fashionable and comfortable model has a textile and leather upper, padded collar, PUMA R-SYSTEM technology for cushioning, and a rubber outsole. 

Shortly after RS-100, the RS Computer Shoe was released. It was the first-ever analytical shoe that gave runners the power of computing to aid in performance. A custom-designed computer chip built into the right heel automatically records the time, distance and calories expended then communicates the results once plugged using a 16-pin cord to any Apple IIE, Commodore 64 of 128 or IBM PC Computer. It was the intelligent way to run and was way ahead of its time.

Following the success of the two R-SYSTEM models, the RS-350 was released in 1987. The RS-350 is an example of streamlined ?80s running design, offering support in the midsole as well as rubber details on the heel, definitely an elevated version amongst the R-SYSTEM family.

R-SYSTEM REBOOT – Puma RS-0

The new Puma RS-0 has undergone a future-retro makeover with a totally new model that lives in the future and yet resembles its past. This RS-0 introduction model indicates what “next” means for PUMA and its Green colorway is a futuristic take on PUMA?s iconic Archive Green.

Starting Spring-Summer ?18, PUMA will kick off its RS stories of reinvention with the RS-0 model followed by modern retro iterations of the RS-100 and RS-350. PUMA has also partnered with influential and creative brands, individuals, and institutions that push culture forward through innovation in design, style, technology, and more. Together they will create drops that explore themes such as gaming, music, photography and more.

Yup! You read that right. A SEGA x Puma collab is on the way. This new partnership will include a collaboration that is sure to bring out the best of both worlds as SEGA’s iconic Sonic the Hedgehog joins forces with Puma’s all-new RS-0 sneaker.

This partnership comes at a time when both brands are experiencing a resurgence. This Spring, PUMA is launching the new RS-0 shoe, which is a reboot of their classic 80?s Running System (RS) line.

For SEGA it underlines their continued efforts to align key franchises within the SEGA portfolio with high-end and highly visible brands from the worlds of fashion, lifestyle and art.

No images of the shoe have leaked just yet, but above you will get a pixelated (it’s only right, right?) teaser of the shoe that looks like it’s utilizing a Sonic-inspired color scheme. There’s also a video that’s sure to get you even more excited for this release.

Puma just announced that they are partnering up with BTS. For those of you who don’t know, BTS is a world-renowned Seoul-based K-pop group comprised of V, SUGA, JungKook, RM, Jin, j-hope and Jimin. They’ve been making huge waves in the music scene and are loved by millions of fans from their home base to the far corners of the globe.

BTS has partnered with PUMA in South Korea since 2015 on brand campaigns and product collaborations. This year, BTS and Puma will  release their collaborative product worldwide, which includes a remix of the classic Puma Turin and stylish sportswear basics. The PUMAxBTS collection will be first available in Korea this Spring, with other regions following up later this summer. Additionally, BTS will be seen in PUMA campaigns this year for the brand?s Sportstyle range, which includes classic PUMA icons such as the PUMA Suede and T-7 Track Suits.

BTS won the ?Top Social Artist? last year at the Billboard Music Awards, one of the top three music awards in the United States. They were also officially invited to the American Music Awards (AMA) to perform on stage, being the first K-pop group to do so, increasing the reputation of K-pop music and culture. In addition, they released the remix album ‘MIC Drop’ last November, making it to 28th place on the ‘Hot 100’, the Billboard singles chart, in the United States, which is the top record for a K-pop group.

Puma and Sophia Webster (British accessories designer) will be linking up once more to release a new Puma x Sophia Webster Spring/Summer 2918 collection. The second season collection is all about princess like. The Princess PUMA theme collection features hand-drawn prints, metallics and a little sparkle.

The collection is set to release as part of two key drops with the first launching in March and the second following in May. Another PUMA TSUGI collaboration has surfaced as this time PUMA has joined forces with designer Naturel.

The Naturel x PUMA TSUGI Evoknit Sock comes covered in a rich Bordeaux (burgundy) all throughout the knitted sock-like upper along with a tonal lacinsg system that wraps around the heel. Additional details include a co-branded  black leather heel tab, a speckled midsole, and what appears to be a translucent outsole.

The 50th anniversary celebration of the PUMA Suede continues as we bring you a look at the Golden Suede colorway that launches next month.

The Puma Suede will be celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout all of 2018. That being the case, Puma will be releasing a handful (50) of special editions Puma Suede celebrating the big year. Today we take a look at the upcoming Puma x Big Sean Suede 50th.

The Puma x Big Sean Suede 50th shown above comes dressed in a White Whisper color scheme. It includes a suede upper covered in perforations and accented by the striped heel tab done in Green, White and Blue. Tonal laces, a White sole are also in play. Unique features on this version of the Suede include the sock like construction of the upper and the Big Sean sig branding on the lateral side of the heel. There’s no “official” release date yet, but we do expect them to drop sometime this week in both adult and kid sizing at select retailers. MSRP is set at $110.

In anticipation of the Black Panther movie releasing next week, BAIT, Marvel, and PUMA have come together once again (last collaborated on July 2017) to release another new collaboration.

This new collaboration consists of two PUMA silhouettes (Puma Tsugi BOG and Mostro Mid), both which have taken the blacked out look. The Tsugi BOG (Blaze of Glory) utilizes a combination of black pony hair, suede, and knitted upper. Branding is kept within subtle details of tonal hits across the shoes. The shoe comes with tow lace options of black rope and black 3m rope. The Mostro Mid takes on a triple black palette with a special elastic strap as a lacing system. Stretch textile is used throughout the shoe for enhanced performance and comfort. Both designs feature a Marvel and Black Panther branded insole, numbered by their limited quantities. The Tsugi BOG is limited to only 300 pairs and will retail for $150, while the Mostro Mid is limited to 100 pairs and will retail for $160. Every purchase also comes with a free reprint comic book of the Black Panther’s first issue.
