Puma Basketball Is Back; Sign Marvin Bagley To Five-Year Deal

Marvin Bagley, who is projected to be a top pick in this year’s NBA Draft, just signed a five year deal with Puma according to The Athletic?s Jon Krawczynski.

We know, what you’re thinking. Puma? Basketball? Yup! Puma basketball is returning, very, very soon!

Marvin Bagley will be the first NBA player Puma has endorsed in close to 20 years. Bagley is said to have signed a five-year deal with Puma that’s “expected to be the largest rookie shoe deal since Kevin Durant signed with Nike (7 year/60 million).”

The last NBA player to have signed with Puma was Vince Carter way back in 1998. Although that deal was for 10 years, the deal fell through after just two years. Soon after that, Puma decided to no longer make basketball shoes and has not done so ever since. That looks like it’s about to change in the coming months.

Per The Athletic, Bagley may not be the only player Puma pursues in the coming months.

Want to get even more excited about Puma hoops? The PUMAHOOPS IG has been extremely active today posting over 30 images that give you a glimpse of what’s to come. Stay tuned as more info on Puma basketball begins to surface!

First Look: Puma Jamming Fusefit

Puma’s been killing it lately, right? Their entire Puma Thunder line is making waves but the brand new sneaker you see above proves to you that they’re also focused on silhouettes with a bit more of a modern appeal. That said, here’s a first look at the  Puma Jamming Fusefit.

The Puma Jamming Fusefit is Puma’s second model to utilize their new Jamming cushioned technology, with the Puma Jamming being the first. For those that are unfamiliar with Puma Jamming tech, it’s a new creation that’s highlighted by the new NRGY beads technology that can be seen on the midsole. These raw NRGY beads move freely inside the clear midsole with every step you take, and jam together as your foot plants. What you end up getting is ultimate comfort and cushioning customized for your step.

The Puma Jamming Fusefit utilizes a Jamming sole placed below a newly designed upper with features that include a evoKNIT construction, a sock-like collar, pull tabs on the tongue and heel, and last but not least, a woven patterned upper that definitely adds some pop to the overall aesthetic of the shoe. The Puma Jamming Fusefit is currently available at select international retailers in both Grey/Multicolor and Black/White. No when on when these will arrive stateside, but as soon as info is released regarding that, we will be sure to let you know. Stay tuned.

The PUMA Thunder Electric For Women Releases In Two Weeks

PUMA is showing love to the ladies later this month as they will be releasing exclusive colorways of the PUMA Thunder Electric.

The PUMA Thunder pays homage to past collabs and silhouettes ahead of their time. Inspired by 90s Cell System running silhouettes and the PUMA x McQueen collaboration, the style is a reimagined pair of kicks with a bulky, unapologetic look and feel. The exaggerated tooling, the blown-up proportions and the loud color blocking reserve a spot for the Thunder on the international runways and streets.

The women’s Thunder Electric retains the signature exaggerated design decked in nubuck leather and mesh overlays with a softer colour palette with lavender hints and touches of chrome. Its design reflects the electrifying power of lightning.

Both of these coloways of the women’s PUMA Thunder Electric will be releasing on June 28th at select PUMA retailers worldwide.

Our First Look At The Puma Thunder Desert

Puma has dropped the Puma Thunder Spectra. The Puma Thunder Electric is on the way. Now we get our first look at the Puma Thunder Desert. Not a bad way for Puma to start their Thunder series, right?

The latest addition to the Puma Thunder series follows the same formula as the first two models. Meaning that it comes with chunky soles and a bulky upper that uses mixed materials for its construction. Above you will find the Puma Thunder Desert done in 4 different tonal finishes. Unlike the first two Thunder models, the Desert opts for neutral finishes on the suede-based upper, this even includes the Puma formstrip which is done in a tumbled finish in an effort to subtly stand out from the rest of the shoe. Coming in your choice of Mint, Black, White or Particle Beige, look for Puma to officially unveil the Puma Thunder Desert in the near future.
