Check Out The Luxurious Looking Puma Clyde Wraith Pack
By SoleInsider
Check out the Puma Clyde Wraith Pack. It’s easy to see it’s much more luxurious and premium looking compared to your average Puma Clyde, right? Said to be inspired by Walt Frazier’s love for fashion and expensive taste in cars, the Puma Clyde takes on similar aesthetics to match his profile in the fashion department.
Coming in your choice of Black or Cordovan, both pairs are given a glossy finish to match the look of Frazier’s old Rolls Royce Phantom. The patent leather upper paired up with the kurim detailing on the heel give the shoe the premium look and feel Puma was aiming for. A matching tonal sole unit and laces (with lace tips housing #10, Frazier’s #) round out the look of the shoe. Said to be dropping on September 30th at PUMA Lab Powered by Foot Locker, which pair are you going after?
Upcoming Colorways Of the Puma Ignite EvoKNIT For 2017
By SoleInsider
PUMA has joined in on the “knit” sneaker craze as earlier this year they unveiled and released the Puma Ignite EvoKNIT.
Today we take a look at a few upcoming colorways that will be releasing in 2017. Challenging Nike’s Flyknit and adidas’ Primeknit sneakers, the Ignite EvoKNIT features a full knitted upper with reinforcement straps by the ankle, fuse on the mudguard, and a high cut ankle. Seen above are upcoming monochromatic colorways including burgundy/maroon, deep blue, and grey.
Look for these new colorways of the Puma Ignite EvoKNIT to release at select Puma retailers in February 2017.
I’ve yet to see the Puma Ignite EvoKNIT in person but I feel like the shoe has lots of potential thanks to the knitted upper. However, I think it could have looked better if they would have found a way to make it a low-top.
Footwear brands everywhere are taking their tried and true retro silhouettes and revamping them through modern twists that will fit today’s streetwear mentality. German lifestyle giant Puma will be doing just that come Spring 2017 with the re-introduction of the Puma Mostro, a classic 90s silhouette that gets reworked through geometric patterns, a slimmed down sole unit, and more. Mostro is Italian for ‘monster’ and with the wavy midsole unit and sleek design, this serpent-like silhouette should be a mean addition to anyone’s wardrobe.
Highsnobiety previewed two upcoming colorways with additional strap overlays seen at both London and New York Fashion Week. Be sure to check out a full look below and stay tuned for a release come February 2017.
Who remember the classic ’90’s Puma sneaker, the Puma Mostro? It’s been a cool minutes since we’ve seen Puma drop this pair, but come 2017, you will once again have the chance to re-up.
Puma is bringing back the Puma Mostro, but they will do so in a re-designed fashion. Most of the shoe’s blueprint will still be intact such as the geometric pattern covering the entire upper and the velcro closure. Below you will find a re-designed sole unit that helps give it more of a modern look. As of now two colorways have been unveiled by Puma during the London and New York Fashion Week. Check out the two pairs above and just know that they’re set to make a return during February of 2017.
Included in this collaboration are a handful of colorways of the Puma Suede and one color option of the Puma Blaze Of Glory. Here we show you detailed images of the Blaze of Glory which comes with a mesh and suede upper done in the classic Pigeon color scheme of white, grey, and Pigeon Pink. This Blaze of Glory then comes with speckles on the Trinomic cushioned midsole to complete the look.
You can purchase the Staple x Puma Blaze Of Glory at select Puma retailers right now for $150.
When I first saw this shoe I “kinda” liked it, but the more I see it the more it’s growing on me. I hope people sleep on them and I can get them for under retail in the near future.

The Pink Dolphin x Puma Wave of Glory Collaboration Is Out Now
By SoleInsider
Heads up! For those of you who weren’t aware, Pink Dolphin has once more linked up with Puma for yet another collaboration. Centered around the Blaze of Glory model, let’s take a look at the Pink Dolphin x Puma Wave of Glory.
The collaboration has Pink Dolphin doing their thing on the classic BOG model, the end result is two very different colorways to choose from. The first pair has the shoe come in a Light Grey upper offset by minimal hits of mint and Light Blue. The second pair comes in a Black base contrasted nicely by the mint and Solar Red that will probably have people saying it’s Yeezy-inspired or something like that. Priced ot $145, both pairs began releasing today at Pink Dolphin location in San Francisco and Los Angeles, while other retailers are expected to release them on September 23.
Both pair are really clean, but if I had to pick one, I’d probably choose the Light Grey pair only because the Yeezy-inspired pair has been played out since..forever.
The Puma Basket returns for the Fall with new colorways that incorporate a new material making them it for the Fall.
This latest colorway of the classic Puma silhouette features a White lather upper with Slate Blue detailing on the branding stripe, and the branding on the heel, and tongue. Puma has decided to add Gore-Tex material to this pair of Baskets making it better suited for the wet and cold weather conditions that we’ll see this Fall. Finishing things off is a gum rubber midsole/outsole.
If you’re interested in buying a pair, you can do so now at select Puma retailers for $130.
It’s a cool thing to see Puma add Gore-Tex to one of their lifestyle silhouettes. It’s also a good thing that the shoe looks pretty much identical to the lifestyle version.

A Closer Look At The Staple x Puma Pigeon Collaboration
By SoleInsider
The more we see of the Staple x Puma Pigeon collaboration, the more interest the shoes begin to gather. Consisting of several pairs of the Puma Suede and one pair of the Blaze of Glory, both models utilize the Pigeon color scheme to give it that classic look.
The Puma Suede will come with a color scheme consisting of Grey, Black and White. These colors are all used differently on three different pairs, this giving each pair its own unique look. Opting to go with a “dipped” motif, each pair has he classic Pigeon Pink placed on the heel region of the shoe. Dual branding appears on the tongue to complete the collaborative look. The Blaze of Glory also rocks the Pigeon look and the upper is done out of mesh and suede. Also grabbing inspiration from the concrete jungle (NYC), the shoe comes with speckles on the Trinomic cushioned midsole to complete the look.
Each Puma Suede has a nickname and represents different parts of the world. The ?Star White? represents the Americas, the ?Frost Grey? reps for Europe and the Middle East, and the ?Pure Black? is for Asia. Author’s Take
I like the “dipped” look on the Puma Suede, and the Blaze of Glory looks amazing in that color scheme. Great work!
Staple Brings Iconic Pigeon Colorway To The Puma Suede and Blaze of Glory
By SoleInsider
Jeff Staple took the world by storm with his infamous Pigeon Dunks, but he also managed a great collaboration with German lifestyle brand Puma and the iconic Puma Suede over three years ago. Now the duo returns with a brand new effort that may require a little more hustle to secure the full collection this time around. Not only will the iconic Pigeon aesthetic return to the Puma Suede in grey, black, and white, but the Puma Blaze of Glory Pigeon will be a brand new addition to the Fall 2016 lineup.
Jeff recalls a time when sneaker collecting was a bit simpler, saying, ?I miss the days when sneaker culture was all about the hunt. You might need to ask a favor from a relative in London, or hit up a homie in Tokyo in order to get grails you really needed. Times have changed in the culture and the way people get their kicks.?
What’s exciting about this four pair collection outside of the unique color blocking on the Puma Suedes and the speckled style of the Puma Blaze of Glory Pigeon is that each colorway is region-specific. A “Star White” Puma Suede Pigeon will be available in both North and South America, the “Frost Grey” Puma Suede Pigeon will release in Europe and the Middle East, and the “Pure Black Puma Suede Pigeon will be available in Asia Pacific territories. Puma’s top accounts will be stocking the Blaze of Glory worldwide in limited quantities.
Staple’s own Reed Space in New York City will be the only retailer to stock all of the pairs on September 13th followed by a global release on September 17th. Check out more detailed shots below and stay tuned for more release announcements right here on Sneaker News.
Our First Look At The XLARGE x mita sneakers x PUMA Clyde
By SoleInsider
We got a three-way collaboration on the way! Puma links up with two streetwear brands hailing from Japan to work their magic on none other than the Puma Clyde. Said to be a limited edition drop, let’s take a look at the XLARGE x mita sneakers x PUMA Clyde.
The Puma Clyde keeps things fairly simple as Cream Suede upper is nicely contrasted by the hits of Green placed on the side stripe and heel, and the Gold hits placed on the branding. White appears on the laces and lining while off-White takes care of the sole unit. XLARGE and mita sneakers branding appears on the tongue to give the shoe a bit of a collaborative feel. The collaboration will also include t-shirts in Black or White that go perfectly with the footwear. Stay tuned to find out when these end up releasing.
Aside from the minimal branding on the tongue, the shoe doesn’t have much of a collaborative feel to it. I wish it did. It sort of looks like a GR to me to be quite honest.
