This White And Multicolor Nike Kobe 11 Releases Real Soon

Nike Kobe 11 1 Nike Kobe 11 2 Nike Kobe 11 3 Nike Kobe 11 4 Nike Kobe 11 5 Nike Kobe 11 6

The white and multicolor version of the Nike Kobe 11 that we showed you earlier this week has gotten a release date and it’s coming quick.

Believed to possibly the Easter colorway of the Kobe 11, it turns out that Nike is calling this the Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB. What does that 4KB stand for? Well at this point we don’t really know but we’re sure that the backstory/theme behind the name will be unveiled by Nike very soon. Looking at the shoe we can see that the upper is dominated by a White Flyknit with multicolor detailing appearing on the side panels. Almost everything else on the shoe has been left white including the outsole, tongue, and inner liner with the exception of some color being added on the heel tabs.

Look for the Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB at Nike retailers on March 14th for a retail price of $220.

Author?s Take

Kind of looks like the Kobe 9 ?What The? but in low-top form. I have a feeling not many people will like this colorway because of how plain it is. I know I don?t, especially not for $220.

Is This The Nike Kobe 11 Easter

Nike Kobe 11 1 Nike Kobe 11 2 Nike Kobe 11 3

Yet another new colorway of the Nike Kobe 11 has surfaced today and this just might be the Easter colorway for 2016.

Dressed in a grey and orange Flyknit upper, the only thing that kind of throws you off from this being an Easter release is the skeleton skull that appears on the heel. The white and multicolor pair that we showed you earlier this week would serve as a much better Easter release due to the colors that it uses, but we won’t really know until we hear something official from Nike.

By the way this grey and orange colorway is scheduled to release on March 25th which is two days before Easter so we’ll have to wait and see. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more updates on this and all Kobe 11s.

Author’s Take

That skull on the heel makes this colorway seem like an unlikely candidate for an Easter colorway of the Kobe 11. We’ll have to wait an see I guess. As far as the colorway I think it’s decent but I’m not a huge fan of orange.

An Official Look At The Next Nike Air Force 1 High OG

Air Force 1 High 2 Air Force 1 High 1 Air Force 1 High 3 Air Force 1 High 4 Air Force 1 High 5 Air Force 1 High 6 Air Force 1 High 7

After giving you an initial look yesterday, today we present to you official images of the next colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 High OG.

Dressed in premium Summit White leather all throughout the upper, Black accents appear on the suede Swoosh, outsole, ankle strap, and Nike Air branding on the heel tab and tongue. Just like every other remastered OG colorway that has released this pair will come with an extra ankle strap for an alternative look.

Overseas retailers have these releasing on March 5th which means that the stateside release can’t be too far off. What are your thoughts on this Nike Air Force 1 High OG? Is the colorway too plain or is it cool and classic?

via: Nike

Author’s Take

I still can’t understand why people continue to sleep on all of these remastered Air Force 1s to the point where you can get them for almost 50% off. This is a clean and simple colorway but I’m waiting on the burgundy colorway to go on sale.

The Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Already Has a Collaboration On The Way

Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 1 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 2 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 3 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 4 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 5 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 6 Gyakusou Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 7 Gyakusou Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 8 Gyakusou Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 9 Gyakusou Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 10 Gyakusou Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 11 Gyakusou Nike LunarEpic Flyknit 12

Nike took the time to officially unveil the Nike LunarEpic Flyknit yesterday and released it in more colorways that we can handle.

The Nike LunarEpic Flyknit comes equipped with a ?revolutionary? mid-height collar design and a brand new tooling system. Flyknit takes care of the upper and Lunarlon technology is found on the sole of the shoe. The shoe is said to offer a ?virtually vanishing fit, fluid feel and superior softness?. Now the silhouette is wasting no time and will already be collaborating with Japanese designer Jun Takahashi to release the Gyakusou x Nike LunarEpic Flyknit.

There will be two colorways as a part of the collaboration that feature Gyakusou branding on the heel strips as well as special branded insoles. Look for both colorways of the Gyakusou x Nike LunarEpic Flyknit along with accompanying apparel on March 10th at NikeLab locations.

via: Nike

Author’s Take

These two colorways don’t really stand out as a “collaboration” in comparison to the other GR pairs that already released. Might as well just pick up a GR colorway for a lower price.

Roger Federer Gets His Own Nike Air Max 1

Air Max 1 1 Air Max 1 2

Nike has just taken the liberty to create special iD pairs of a few Air Max silhouettes for some of the biggest Nike athletes around.

Gearing up for Air Max Day which falls on March 26th, Nike has created NIKEiD pairs of various silhouettes for athletes that include Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Skylar Diggins, Victor Cruz, Giovani dos Santos, Rafal Nadal and this pair that you see pictured above that was designed for Roger Federer. Nike dressed up Federer’s Air Max 1 in a Black leather upper with a University Red mudguard that has also been done in leather. A Metallic Gold leather Swoosh, White midsole and clear translucent outsole wrap things up on the pair created for the tennis legend along with “GOAT” written on the heels in gold.

Check out all the pairs that Nike created for their athletes here and purchase which ever one you’d like or create your own in preparation of Air Max Day.

Author’s Take

It’s hard not to like a black and red Air Max 1 and those gold hits just make it even nicer. The only thing I would have changed is the leather upper and made it mesh.

Snakeskin Makes An Appearance On The Nike Air Max Classic BW Persian Violet

Nike Air Max Classic BW 1 Nike Air Max Classic BW 2 Nike Air Max Classic BW 3 Nike Air Max Classic BW 4 Nike Air Max Classic BW 5 Nike Air Max Classic BW 6

Nike will be bringing back the OG Persian Violet colorway of the Nike Air Max Classic BW (Big Window) next week to the delight of many OG sneakerheads that have been waiting a long time to get their hands on them again.

Now we’ll be seeing the retro runner from Nike outfitted in the same exact colorway but with a modern look thanks to a full snakeskin upper. Instead of utilizing the classic mesh and neoprene upper this Air Max Classic BW uses a premium snakeskin upper in black along with Persian Violet and White accents.

No release date has been announced yet but you can expect these to hopefully arrive in the states in the near future.

Author’s Take

Wasn’t a fan of the shoe with the original materials and the new snakeskin upper doesn’t really do anything for me. I’ll pass on these.

Wolf Grey And Metallic Silver Combine On This New Colorway Of The Nike KD 8

Nike KD 8 1 Nike KD 8 2 Nike KD 8 3 Nike KD 8 4

After unveiling the Nike KD 8 Elite earlier this week, today we take a look at a brand new colorway of the original KD 8.

This time around Kevin Durant’s 8th signature shoe with the Swoosh takes on a Wolf Grey Flyweave upper with Metallic Silver detailing on the midsole, Swoosh and KD logos. Wrapping things up is a gum outsole. There is a close resemblance between this pair and a GS release that drops at the end of the month, but thankfully for the guys this pair will release in men’s sizes.

There is no exact release date yet but this silver colorway of the KD 8 could be releasing later this month. Stay tuned for updates.

via: K101Store

Author’s Take

The good thing about this colorway of the KD 8 is that it can be worn with pretty much anything. The bad thing? It’s just too plain.

Oklahoma Has Some Nike PEs For March Madness

The Sooners have some high hopes heading into NCAA basketball madness this month, and it looks like they’ll have at least two Nike signature shoes made just for them to carry their squad throughout the heightened competition. Both the Kyrie 2 and the Kobe 11 Elite have been issued to Oklahoma in clean team-based colorways, but the Kobe 11 deserves some extra shine for the contrasting grey Flyknit that sits atop the white soles. Don’t expect these to hit retailers, but you might be able to get something similar through NIKEiD.

Buy, Pass, Wait: Nike Air Foamposite Pro Pure Platinum, Air Jordan 12 GS Dynamic Pink, CLOT x Asics

In this week’s Buy, Pass, Wait, the staff gathers to talk about (what else?) the weekly Air Jordan retros, but this time there’s a little bit of a kiddie twist since there’s a lot of buzz for the Air Jordan 12 dropping in GS sizes. But there are other releases to talk about as well, including the latest premium Nike KD 8, a CLOT and Asics collab, the latest Nike Air Yeezy 2 colorway to the get the Foamposite treatment that dropped today.

Air Jordan 12 GS Dynamic Pink/Valentine’s Day (If You Were A Kid/Had Smaller Shoe Size)

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (BUY) As a kid and Bret Hart stan, this would have been an awesome pair to rock with those cheap sunglasses he wore to the ring. As an adult, I wish I could cop these but hey, the kids, ladies and dudes with smaller feet deserve to have the exclusive at times as well. Maybe the moral is brands should just make everything available in all sizes.

Andres Carrillo, News: (PASS) I’m really selective with what Air Jordan retros I buy these days and I’m just not a fan of pink. I could actually buy these thanks to the extended GS sizing, but pink just isn’t a color I like having on my shoes.

Juan Carrillo, News: (BUY) If I were a kid, I’d probably be all over these. They’re quite bold and you will definitely make a statement with these on. I know a few grown men that won’t be happy that Jordan Brand didn’t make these in their size. Me on the other hand, I’m cool.

Renz Ofiaza, News: (PASS) Even if I was in my childhood days, this isn’t a pair I would consider purchasing. The colorway screams a feminine vibe obviously, but it does support the breast cancer awareness theme perfectly so maybe it should have had Kay Yow branding.

Air Jordan 2 Wing It

EIC Juan: (GOT ‘EM) Certain Air Jordan models should never steer away from the simple or tonal colorways and the Air Jordan 2 is one of them. With the textured leather finish, this is one of the better new 2 colorways to drop in a long time.

Andres: (WAIT) The more I see this colorway of the Air Jordan 2 the more I like it. I like the textured leather upper and the “Wing It” branding on the heels. However I’d rather just wait for the black/chrome or Chicago colorways to release again rather than pulling the trigger on an Air Jordan 2 that I “kind of” like.

News Juan: (WAIT) Decent colorway, cool inspiration behind the shoe. I’ve been looking for an Air Jordan 2 to pick up, and although I like this pair, I don’t love it. I’d rather take the chance and wait to see if I can get them way below retail.

Renz: (BUY) Just because of its colorway, the sneaker is pretty versatile and great for everyday wear in my view.

CLOT x Asics Gel Lyte 3 Sand and Lavender

CLOT x ASICS Gel Lyte 3 3 CLOT x ASICS Gel Lyte 3 8

EIC Juan: (PASS) Great execution but that hue of purple/lavender with a mismatching outsole just isn’t appealing to me. Ditto for the sand colorway as well.

Andres: (WAIT) I have a thing for Gel Lyte 3s so I usually pay attention to any colorway that releases, especially if it’s a collaboration. Both of these colorways are great for the Spring but if I had to pick one I would have to go with the Sand colorway.

News Juan: (PASS) The theme is executed nicely on the shoe, but the overall design is fairly simple. There’s just not enough on the shoe to make me want a pair. I like Asics Gel Lyte 3, but these colorways just don’t cut it.

Renz: (BUY) I’m pretty inclined towards runners and the tonal finishes on these are pretty solid. I’m more for the Sand version though.

Nike KD 8 EXT Vachetta Tan

Nike KD 8 EXT Vachetta Tan

EIC Juan: (PASS) The orange Zoom Air bubbles are an abomination on a colorway that had so much potential. The lining, Flywire and laces should have also been tan instead of a contrasting white.

Andres: (PASS) Nike would have hit the mark on this colorway of the KD 8 but the hits of orange just kill the entire look. There also should have been an actual textured Swoosh and not a perforated one. This shoe/colorway had potential (like the CP3.IX) but Nike didn’t execute it like they should have.

News Juan: (PASS) I’ve never been a big fan of any of the Nike EXT models. While I do like the Vachetta Tan being used on the upper, it’s still not enough to make me want to wear a pair casually. Plus, those orange hits on the midsole really irk me.

Renz: (BUY) With this colorway trending as of late, I’m just biased towards it honestly. I would’ve preferred it even more if there weren’t orange accents applied, and instead kept simple in tan/white.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro Pure Platinum (If You Can Still Find It)

Nike
Nike

EIC Juan: (PASS) Yeah, unless it’s the Pearl colorway that Tim Duncan wore back in the days or the pair that came with the Class of ’97 pack that dropped late last year, I just can’t get behind the Foamposite Pro. Besides, I got them in the game already.

Andres: (PASS) I still find it pretty ridiculous how Foamposites are priced for $230-$250 and lots of people are actually willing to spend that much money on them. Out of all three Yeezy-inspired colorways this is probably the best one (if I was forced to pick ) but it’s an easy pass for me.

News Juan: (PASS) Three reasons why I’ll be passing these up. I don’t like the Nike Air Foamposite Pro model. Not a fan of the Yeezy inspiration behind the shoe. Not a fan of the price. That’s more than enough reasons to warrant my pass, right?

Renz: (WAIT) I used to wear this silhouette a lot back then. The build is just pretty durable. Aside from being another jab at Kanye, the colorway is just appealing in general. I’m not that crazy about it though.

What Michael Jordan Moment Has Nike Not “Exploited” Yet That You Would Like To See On A Retro?

EIC Juan: 1996 All-Star Game

NBA
NBA

Michael Jordan’s first All-Star Game since 1993 was a pretty monumental moment and yes, while he did wear the pretty memorable Air Jordan 11 Columbia, a pair of 11s based on those San Antonio-themed jerseys would be crazy. Not sure it would be a good idea the more I think about it, but I would be interested to see how Jordan Brand would interpret the teal, pink, grey and orange on the Air Jordan 11.

Andres: “A Spectacular Move”

One Michael Jordan moment that I can think of that hasn’t been exploited by Jordan Brand yet is Michael’s miraculous layup where he switches hands in mid-air during the 1991 NBA Finals against the Lakers. In that game he’s wearing the Air Jordan 6 Black Infrared but I’m sure that Jordan Brand could think of a new colorway (maybe inspired by the Lakers that isn’t this?) to bring that moment to life on a sneaker.

News Juan: Indiana Pacers

NBA
NBA

Michael Jordan predominantly wore the Air Jordan 13 during his last title run during the 1997-1998 season. During that year he happened to play the Indiana Pacers (my favorite team) in the Eastern Conference Finals. The series went to game 7 with of course the Bulls narrowly coming out on top. Some people may not know this, but the Indiana Pacers took the Chicago Bulls (and Michael Jordan) to their only 7-game playoff series during their championship runs. So why not make a Indiana Pacers-themed Air Jordan 13 that pays homage to the 7-game series and name it the Air Jordan 13 Game 7? Sounds like it has potential to me, right? Kind of like how the Air Jordan 7 Three Times a Charm was inspired by his Western Conference Finals opponents, why not show an Eastern Conference foe some love.

Renz: Hall Of Fame Suit

NBA
NBA

Aside from that hilarious meme from his hall of fame induction speech, maybe what MJ wore during the ceremony can inspire a colorway, even though the suit was pretty classic on its own already. Or maybe those watery eyes will inspire something, just kidding.

KoF Live: Unboxing The Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Fancy Box (Video)

Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Box 1 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe Box 4 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Box 2 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Box 3 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 12 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 11 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 10 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 9 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 3 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 8 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 7 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 2 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 1 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 6 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 5 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Shoe 4 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Event 4 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Event 5 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Event 1 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Event 2 Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Event 3

Last night, we were invited to check out the launch of the Nike LunarEpic Flyknit, the latest runner in Nike’s vast arsenal. Featuring a Flyknit collar and a laser-cut Lunarlon midsole that makes the shoe a softer ride than ever before. And I would know because I ran walked in them.

Sadly, because of a situation that involved my wisdom teeth (that’s plural), I was unable to participate in the run itself, but I had a chance to put on a trial pair while at the Nike Running station in Santa Monica.

Without hesitation, I can say that the LunarEpic is hands down, the softest pair of Lunars I’ve ever worn and considering the heritage of the Lunar and the number of runners, basketball kicks and golf shoes I’ve worn with the tech in the past, that’s pretty high praise. According to Nike, that’s the result of the laser-cut Lunarlon midsole and through the use of heat instead of glue, they are able to create a more flexible and efficient ride, targeting the specific spots of the foot that need the cushioning the most. The Lunar pods were really the first thing I noticed after walking in the LunarEpic.

The other big innovation or crossover that’s found in the LunarEpic is the Flyknit collar. It’s been found everywhere from soccer boots to Kobes to last week’s Nike Koston 3s, and now we have it in runners. The implication is still the same – you “feel” the support of a mid even though it’s more of a sock – but the biggest difference for me and my wider feet is that the shoe no longer comes up against my heel and scratches it. That was a problem I had with the Nike MercurialX Proximo Street; because it was so snug, even walking in them with a half size up to an 11.5 was a constant hassle. The LunarEpic has more wiggle room, but it doesn’t become an issue where my feet sliding around the shoe and interfering with what would be my hypothetical run. I would still recommend a half size up if this is something you’re interested in though.

I received the Black/Photo Blue/Poison Green colorway, which I felt was the best of the bunch besides the Black/Hyper Orange/Laser Orange combination. It’ll be interesting to see if this will catch on with the sneaker community with more Multicolor-styled colorways because as it stands, the only Flyknit that they really care about are the Racers and the occasional Air Max.

For $175, the LunarEpic is a premium runner that appears to live up to the billing so far. People won’t really be able to get a great feel from them until after they’ve gone through the paces and put them through a few years, but so far it’s off to a great start.

The Nike Air Force 1 Takes Inspiration From The Air Jordan 1

Air Force 1 1 Air Force 1 2

Two new colorways of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 will be releasing that take inspiration from another sneaker that is just as iconic.

Later this year we’ll be seeing an Air Force 1 J Pack that places two legendary colorways of the Air Jordan 1 onto the low-top version of the Nike Air Force 1. Thus duo of Air Force 1s take inspiration from the Bred and Royal colorways of the Air Jordan 1 with very similar color blocking.

Neither pair has a confirmed release date yet but we can expect them either in the Spring or Summer.

via: atmos

Author’s Take

If you can’t get your hands on the Bred or Royal (highs) then this is a decent alternative. Come to think of it you might as well just get the Air Jordan 1 Lows of the same color instead. Solid colorways for fans of the Air Force 1 though.

Is There A Brand New Nike KD Model Coming

Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder have had a rough week. From a Clippers comeback to another Golden State Warriors loss, the Thunder and KD need something to boost their spirits: like a new Durant team model being unveiled. Today we get a look at what could be the Nike KD Trey 5 IV. While Durant’s latest Elite model is taking hightops to towering new heights thanks to Leo Chang’s unique design, his KD Trey series has always offered up a formidable playing shoe on a more standard side of things. This pair features a positive thumbs up logo patch on the tongue to let KD and OKC know everything’s going to be okay going forward for the rest of the season, and that this past week was just one big hiccup. At least, we’d like to think so. Check out a full preview below and we’ll keep you updated on more KD releases right here on Sneaker News.

Nike Gives The Air Classic BW The Snakeskin Treatment

The Nike Air Classic BW is having a moment. The classic retro running model had the near-impossible task of following up the memorable Nike Air Max 90, and did a pretty good job at that, becoming a lifestyle staple in overseas territories like the UK with the occasional bring-back stateside. While the iconic “Persian Violet” colorway has released a number of times, today we get a look at a new lifestyle twist – synthetic snakeskin wraps around the black upper to add a trendy finish to the ‘Big Window’ championing model for a modern upgrade. We’re excited to see what else the 25th anniversary of the BW has instore. Check out more of NSW’s latest revamp of the Air Classic BW in premium snakeskin below and we’ll keep you updated on a release date right here on Sneaker News.
