Nike Air Max 1 Gets A Pink Suede Upgrade

The Nike Air Max 1 continues to celebrate 30 years in the business with a number of awesome colorways perfect to hold you down this Spring 2017 season. At the top of our list has to be this Air Max 1 Pink Suede option, as the premium Prism Pink shade leaves its mark thanks to a hypnotizing yet simple pastel aesthetic. This exact pink shade is currently the must-have color for the season, and that doesn’t look to be changing anytime soon either. Nike doesn’t overcomplicate things with a white midsole and classic gum outsole perfectly complimenting the standout upper. This pair was also recently previewed alongside a Nike Air Max 1 “Oatmeal”. Each pair has been popping up at select international retailers so stay tuned for a stateside Release Date in the near future right here on Sneaker News.

Lonzo Ball Gets No Love From Nike, adidas And Under Armour

It was just reported that Nike, adidas and Under Armour all decided to pass up on signing future UCLA star and future NBA player Lonzo Ball to an endorsement deal. According to ESPN, Ball?s father, better known as LaVar Ball also confirmed that all three brands informed him that they were not interested in signing his son to a deal.

Lonzo and Lavar had meetings with all three brands and it is being said that during all three meetings Lavar insisted that if they wanted to sign his son they would have to license his upstart Big Baller brand for him. Aside from that, Lavar also took the time to create of prototype signature shoe for his son to show the brands what his visions were.

?We?ve said from the beginning, we aren?t looking for an endorsement deal. We?re looking for co-branding, a true partner. But they?re not ready for that because they?re not used to that model. But hey, the taxi industry wasn?t ready for Uber, either.? ? LaVar Ball

What are your thoughts on all three brands passing up on Lonzo Ball? Was it a good decision or will they end up regretting it in the long run.

Kelsey Plum Signs With Nike For Multi-Year Endorsement Deal

While Nike may have passed on Lonzo Ball, they just locked in one of the best collegiate basketball players in the history of the game, Kelsey Plum, who was just drafted first overall by the San Antonio Stars, is one of the most decorated ballers in history, setting women’s records for most points all-time and in a season and coming second to only Pete Maravich in total points at the collegiate level.

Plum recently made headlines thanks to her incredibly impressive throw, dishing a t-shirt from the court level to a fan in the upper rows. Kelsey will begin her career as a professional basketball player and official Nike athlete tomorrow. Terms of her deal with Nike have not been disclosed, but expect her to be with the Swoosh for years to come. More details on Nike News.

Nike Vapormax Glacier Blue Releasing In May

We’ve got yet another new Nike VaporMax colorway to preview today, with this next version for women in “Glacier Blue”. Looking like a complement to the men’s “Blue Orbit” colorway, this softer blue shade for the ladies gives the full-length Air shoe more of a light and airy, in-the-clouds look than ever for the innovative runner. Just like the women’s Light Violet colorway of the VaporMax, these will release May 5th in Japan, with a US release date soon to follow.

The Nike Air More Uptempo Dark Maroon Releases On May 1st

The Nike Air More Uptempo has had the busiest year-long stretch in the model’s history, even more so than when it first dropped in 1996. We’ve seen monochromatic shade after monochromatic shade, the Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo trio, and now this Nike Air More Uptempo Bordeaux/ Dark Maroon is slated to release at select European retailers on May 1st followed by a stateside release at a later date. The pair brings the perfect hint of Dark Maroon throughout the upper with a complimenting gel Swoosh on the heel to match the off-white Sail midsole. Our only regret here is that Nike Sportswear has painted over the visible air units on the midsole, but we can’t complain about it too much with such a standout shade being added to the Uptempo’s release history. Check out more detailed shots of the coming Nike Air More Uptempo Bordeaux Dark Maroon, and know that this pair will arrive at select retailers like SNS on May 1st for $160.

Richard Mulders First Series Nike SB Dunk Returns As A High

Nike SB has been celebrating their 15th anniversary of bringing the Swoosh into the skate world with repurposed Dunks and Blazers, signature riders, and more with fresh technical revamps of some of the more iconic skate models in the imprint’s arsenal. Those of you who survived the Dunk madness from the early 2000s and are still around in the sneaker game today will remember the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro “Richard Mulder”, a clean White/Orion Blue takedown inspired by his love of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2002’s first series. Now the pair is back with the Nike SB Dunk High Richard Mulder featuring a crisp white high-top in smooth leather while the Orion Blue Swoosh stands out. Nike VaporMax Light Violet

Did you cop any of the 4 colorways of the Nike VaporMax that released earlier this week? Nike is going hard with their latest running/ lifestyle crossover model, a silhouette that revamps the three decades of visible air with a sleek Flyknit upper and full-length airbag window that’s been a hit ever since it dropped on Air Max Day. More colorways are coming in the near future too, as earlier today we got a look at the Nike VaporMax “Blue Orbit” with a standout monochromatic royal upper. It looks like more women’s exclusives could be on the way too, as this pastel Nike VaporMax Light Violet is set to release in Japan on May 5th followed by a stateside release at a later date. Do note that there’s a similar “Violet Dust” colorway featuring a slightly darker shade coming soon as well. Check out more detailed shots below and head over to our Release Dates page for an updated look at more from Nike.

Nike, adidas, and Under Armour Not Interested In Signing Lonzo Ball

Lonzo Ball may be one of the most talked about pro prospects in sports history, but in this day an age, there is such thing as bad publicity. While Lonzo has stayed relatively quiet and let his hoops do the talking, father Lavar has made him and his sons the butt of many jokes thanks to his outlandish comments. The most outrageous, of course, was his $1 billion price-tag for all three sons as a group deal, which many sneaker industry experts found completely inane.

Well, the Big Baller Brand took a bit of a hit as ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports that Nike, adidas, and Under Armour are not interested in signing Lonzo Ball. Lavar, who represents Lonzo and his sons, insisted that one of the brands license their Big Baller Brand and even went as far as showing them a shoe prototype. Lavar says he and his sons are not looking for a typical shoe contract, but rather a business partner.

Lonzo is projected to be one of the top picks of the upcoming NBA Draft and potentially be the first overall selection. But for all three big brands to kick a prospect of Lonzo’s nature to the curb speaks volumes and it doesn’t appear that the Ball billion dollar dynasty is starting anytime soon.

Nike Set To Drop Flip The Switch Edition Of Kyrie Irvings Shoes

We wouldn’t necessarily say that averaging 25/3/3 during the first round of the NBA Playoffs was ‘flipping on the switch’ – it’s something that Kyrie Irving has been doing all season long – but we expect to see more elite performances from the star point guard in the later rounds fitting of his coming Nike Kyrie 3 “Flip The Switch”, a pair headed to retailers on May 5th for $120 USD. Nike Basketball’s Flip The Switch Collection features unique constructions of all of Nike’s signature basketball models, each utilizing a jagged cut Swoosh for some head-turning metallic branding on each shoe’s side panel. The Kyrie 3 Flip The Switch stands out for its Hornets-like appearance in which combinations of Deep Royal and Purple join together to form outstanding gradients to contrast the black mesh base. What do you think of Kyrie’s latest offering? Check out more photos below and stay tuned for more Release Date updates right here on Sneaker News.
