The shoe features a Flyknit upper along with a TPU heel counter, and a sock-like ankle collar. How To Buy The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.0

Artist Tom Sachs and Nike are ready to release the Mars Yard 2.0, but this sneaker drop is unlike anything you’ve had to do in the past. You already know that in order to buy the shoes, you have to sign up for Tom Sachs’ Space Camp, which is currently held in NYC’s Governers Island. The immersive Space Camp experience includes a screening of a 40-minute film called The Hero’s Journey, and a five-exercise workout that includes the deadlift, lunge, push-up, chin-up, and ab wheel. Currently, the June 8-10 dates are completely booked, while June 11 and 15-18 will open soon. Registration for London’s Space Camp has not been announced yet.

Those unable to attend either Space Camp locations can still purchase them online, but you can only unlock access by taking “five tests of digital dexterity”. Online release information has not been announced yet.

Perhaps Tom Sachs is not pleased with how his first creation, the original Mars Yard from 2012, became a collector’s item rather than an art collaboration. A message on the shoe-box reads: “These shoes are only valid if worn, and worn to death by you. Posers need not apply.”

Stay tuned for more updates on the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.0 release.

The Nike Air Mariah Flyknit Surfaces In Two More Colorways

No doubt one of the most intriguing new models hitting the market this summer will be the Nike Air Mariah Flyknit. Previewed sparingly by retailers as an upcoming release for the last couple of months, Nike themselves haven’t said a peep about the shoe, leaving a few questions up in the air. Is it a lifestyle or performance shoe? Why does it look almost exactly like the Flyknit Racer? And does the Air Mariah, a vintage racing flat, actually have to do with this design?

While we continue to wait for Nike to explain the mysterious shoe, today we can at least preview two more colorways of the Air Mariah Flyknit, featuring a bright combination of Clear Jade and Vivid Purple for the first, and a slightly more subdued String and Solar Red pairing for the second. Along with the black and white/blue/orange versions we’ve seen already, the future is looking bright for the new Flyknit model. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for release details.

According To Scottie Pippen, The Nike Air More Uptempo Stood Out More Than The Jordan 11

Nike recently caught up with NBA legend Scottie Pippen to talk about the year 1996. This was a very special year for Scottie as he played in his sixth All-Star game, won his fourth NBA title and captured his second Olympic gold medal. He did most of this while wearing the Nike Air More Uptempo. Nike asked Pip a few questions regarding the Air More Uptempo and the impact that the shoe had on him and the community, including how it stacked up against the Air Jordan 11.

Do you remember what it was like when you saw the More Uptempo for the first time?
I was pretty shocked. I thought it was a little overwhelming. But I felt like it was something I could handle on the basketball court because I was very confident in the way that I was playing and the way that my career was going. It was something I was willing to step out in.

Looking back at that ’96 Bulls team, you had the Jordan 11 and the Shake Ndestrukt. What was the reaction to your shoe in the locker room?
I think mine stood out a little more just because of what it said. It was kind of the graffiti basketball shoe ? making a statement in real big letters. So it stood on its own.

That year in the playoffs, a bunch of your teammates wore 11s. Were you influenced by them to wear that shoe as well?
Oh no, no. I mean, I did wear Jordans in some games, but I have always tried to focus on my brand or the shoe that I was wearing to make sure I stood by it and believed in it.

How aware were you of the statement your shoes were making?
As a player when you’re going through it, you don’t realize it. And it’s not until it’s over that you realize you were living a dream. It’s kind of a forgotten memory until you start to appreciate it after your career.

Did you save any of those Air shoes from ’96?
You know, when you’re going through the moment, you don’t realize you’re living something that you are going to wish you could have again. But no, I didn’t. I went through a lot of shoes over my career.

Did you wear a fresh pair every game?
Yeah. I did start to change shoes after every game. People would ask for them and charities wanted them. But a lot of times I would have kids on the street ask me for them, either going in the arena or leaving. So I always had a little clique of kids on the west side that I would take care of.

Would you have ever thought that your shoes would be as popular again as they are now?
No, I didn’t. Again, as a player, you don’t think about stuff like that. You don?t even expect those shoes to come back to the marketplace.

I mean, even now, I’m still not considered a collector, but I’ve probably got more shoes now than I ever have had in my life.
