Official Images: Nike Kobe AD Black Purple

Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoe with Nike hit retailers today as the Nike Kobe AD released in a multicolor pair in celebration of Mamba Day (8/24). Now we bring you official images of a pair that is possibly inspired by the team Kobe called home for his entire NBA career.

Covered in black throughout the majority of the mesh-constructed upper, this Nike Kobe AD is then given some Lakers flair as purple has been placed on the toe, laces, tongue tab, heel branding, and the heel counter. Providing further contrast is the addition of white and silver on the toe, midsole, and the Swoosh branding on the side panels. Down below we see a black rubber outsole for optimum traction.

This colorway of the Nike Kobe AD does not have a confirmed release date but we’ll be sure to provide it for you once it becomes available. Do you anticipate grabbing a pair when they drop?

Gary Paytons Nike Zoom GP Set To Return Next Year

Back in 1999, Nike gave Gary Payton his first ever signature shoe, the Nike Zoom GP. In 2019, it looks like Nike will be dropping Payton’s signature shoe once more to celebrate the model’s 20th anniversary. For those of you keeping score, this will be the third Payton shoe that Nike has brought back following the release of the Nike Zoom Flight 98 and the Nike Zoom Hawk Flight.

The Nike Zoom GP appeared to be ahead of its time when it comes to the overall appearance of the shoe. Designed by Eric Avar, the Nike Air Zoom GP rocks a very unique lacing system that includes an asymmetrical lace cover and self-adjustable ratcheting buckle to help give you that lock-down feel and support. The shoe comes with an upper constructed out of leather and synthetic materials and a sole equipped with Zoom Air. The image you see above is the 1999 version, but expect next year’s drop to be fairly similar.

Look for the Nike Zoom GP to return once more sometime during May 2019. Who’s picking up a pair?
