Official Images Of The Air Jordan 7 Olympic Alternate

The “Alternate” concept that we first saw on the Air Jordan 4 is back again, this time in Olympic form. For another “what if?” colorway, the Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” is presented in an alternate colorway, that’s been reported as being an actual colorway Tinker Hatfield sketched up when creating Michael’s Dream Team version of the shoe we all know and love. Previewed numerous times throughout the summer, we finally get a look at the official images straight from Nike of the patriotic colorway that will be releasing just in time for this summer’s Olympic games on August 6th. Will you be picking up a pair, or sticking with the standard “Olympic” Air Jordan 7? Get a good look here to help you decide, and find them at Jordan Brand retailers next Saturday in a full family size run.

Side By Side Comparison Of The Banned Air Jordan 1 And Air Jordan 31

How does the Air Jordan 31 “Banned” stack up when compared to its inspiration? Today we get a look at a side-by-side comparison of both models slated to release on September 3rd as the iconic Black and Red look that was yes, ‘banned’, during Michael Jordan’s rookie season returns in both new and retro form. The overriding thematic element of the Jordan 31 has been paying homage to the Air Jordan 1. What better way to do it than through the implementation of his iconic “Banned” colorway?

Right off the bat, you can see that this year’s signature Jordan takes a lifestyle aesthetic with the overall shape of the silhouette mirroring the traditional contours of the Air Jordan 1 despite the updated woven upper throughout. The heel and tongue especially showcase this similarity. While there’s a subtle gradient of a Nike Swoosh on the side panel of the Jordan XXX1, the colorway is actually where these pairs make creative differences. The Jordan 31 “Banned” utilizes a gradient where a black heel fades into a more vibrant red on the toe. The ‘Banned’ callouts come in the form of bold lettering on the sole and inner tongue.

While traditionalists will undoubtedly prefer the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” due to its historic context, what do you think of Jordan Brand’s effort to make the Jordan 31 both a performance juggernaut and a pair you can wear off the court with ease? Check out more photos below and grab your pair on September 3rd.

Following its official reveal, more new images of the forthcoming Air Jordan 31 Banned edition is revealed, as this latest gallery places an emphasis on its overall makeup and notable details.

A design inspired by the iconic banned Air Jordan 1, the black and red colorway that debuted in 1985 is essentially prominent across its entirety. Composed of flyweave throughout the majority of its upper, leather accents converge on the rear to solidify its build. Iconic Jordan elements such as the original Wings logo and a subtle Swoosh are seen on the side panels, while a large Jumpman is prominent across its heel.

All adhered atop a FlightSpeed technology with full-length Zoom Air that enhances court feel, responsiveness and lateral support, you can find this pair at select JB and Nike retailers starting September 3 for a price tag of $185.

Author’s Take

I?m not really crazy about it, but, I really do like refined makeup. The only thing that bothers me is the large Jumpman branding. It should?ve been removed or just sized smaller.

The Air Jordan 7 Tinker Alternate Debuts Next Month

Air Jordan 7 4 Air Jordan 7 5 Air Jordan 7 3 Air Jordan 7 2 Air Jordan 7 1 Air Jordan 7

While the original Olympic 7s first debuted in Barcelona, Spain during the 1992 Summer Olympics, an alternate rendition of that Air Jordan 7 looks to commemorate the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Defined by a patriotic palette, the model flaunts pristine white across the majority of its leather upper, as navy-colored nubuck is implemented on the underlays, in addition to its ankle portion and outsole. The USA-inspired theme is capped off with pops of red gracing the midsole unit, heel and inner lining, while metallic gold accents adorn the tongue label and jumpman logo to perfectly evoke the first-place medals.

Priced at $190, you can expect to find this pair at select JB and Nike stockists starting August 16th.

Author’s Take

I like the original version better. The colorway is still appealing, but I prefer the all-white upper instead. It should still get a lot of attention none the less.

Five Details You Mightve Missed About The Air Jordan 31

The next Air Jordan model, the Air Jordan 31, was unveiled last week at a special event at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NV. Blending the Air Jordan 1 design ethos with new technology, Jordan Brand designer Tate Kuerbis accomplished the tough task of creating a brand new shoe with specific directives to draw from the most iconic basketball shoe of all-time. We often judge Jordans narrow-mindedly, going simply by looks; because of that, most of its performance basketball product doesn’t quite resonate with sneakerheads or basketball players, especially when compared to the iconic models by Tinker from ’88 to ’99. To describe the Jordan 31 as a mere futuristic version of the Air Jordan 1 would be unfair, because there’s a lot more to the design than why you might expect

According to Nike, this colorway takes inspiration from the recent Jordan Brand x Don C collaborations and features an all over quilted suede upper with canvas overlays. Author’s Take

Initially I wasn’t aware that the upper was made of a suede, but now that I know it gives the shoe a much more luxurious look. However, I still wouldn’t buy a pair.

The news for the Air Jordan 1 continues to get even better in 2016. As if the return of the Air Jordan 1 Bred wasn’t already enough, it appears that the Air Jordan 1 Black Toe will also be getting the retro treatment once again this year.

Tinker Hatfields Alternate Design For The Air Jordan 7 Olympic Releases Soon

It’s been almost 25 years since NBA players first stepped foot into international competition with the legendary USA Dream Team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Instead of releasing the iconic “Olympic” Air Jordan 7, a pair that has seen a retro release three times plus the nearly identical “For The Love Of The Game” colorway in 2010, Jordan brand is going an alternate route this year. The Air Jordan 7 “Olympic Alternate” will hit retail shelves for the first time ever, as the Jumpman is unearthing an unused patriotic Olympic-themed Tinker Hatfield design dating back to 1992. The bold pair features an American flag stamped on the heel with Jordan’s Olympic number 9. A red gradient midsole stands out while Deep Royal Blue and White alternate throughout the upper. Premium accents of metallic gold hit throughout in honor of the Dream Team’s perfect record and Gold Medal accomplishment. Be sure to check out more of the latest Olympic Jordan release below and know that you can grab your pair on August 6th for $190 USD.

Heres Proof That People Are Still Paying Ridiculous Money On The UNDFTD Jordan 4

The Air Jordan 4 Undefeated just sold at Stadium Goods for $18,500 proving that for those with enough cash, nothing will stand in the way of a sneakerhead and one of his or her grails. Created in 2005, the militaristic collaboration was limited to only 72 pairs given out to friends and family and never actually released at retail. So it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that this incredibly limited Air Jordan 4 demands some hefty prices on the resale market. Undefeated’s iconic creation was Stadium Good’s most expensive sneaker when the store opened its doors in Manhattan not too long ago, demanding $24,500 for the olive green and orange offering, but some lucky soul walked away with a steal by paying only $18,500 USD. Being one of the handful of people that can boast actually owning the Undefeated x Air Jordan 4: priceless.

Author’s Take

I?m not that really into the silhouette in a low-cut profile aside from the recent varsity red and navy/gum colorways, but, I like this style even more in this finish. I also like how leather is applied on the upper.

The Air Jordan Spizike Wheat Has Surfaced

For the most part, hybrid Jordans are looked down upon from the majority of the sneaker community. Not really sure why, but most of us would rather keep it OG and only mess with retros. Although that is fine and all, there is no denying that the Air Jordan Spizike is seen as one of the most “acceptable” hybrids that Jordan Brand ever created. Meshing features from Jordans such as the 3, 4, 5, 6 and 20, the Spizike manages to utilize all these traits and create a look if its own. Although Jordan Brand has not released many colorway over the last couple of years, it looks like a Wheat colorway could be in the works.

The Wheat colorway has the shoe come in a Tan suede upper accompanied by the Brown placed on the paneling on the vamp. More Tan is noted on the plastic wings, eyelets and pull tab. Elephant print also makes an appearance as it comes in a darker shade of Tan. Rounding out the look of the shoe are the Brown laces, Jumpman on the tongue, the Silver and Black lace lock, the Brown midsole and the specking on the toe. Are you excited to the Spizike make a return? Stay tuned to find out when these get a release date.

Author’s Take

I don’t mess with Spizikes. If I want a Tan suede sneaker for the Fall, there are far better options out there than a Spizike.
