It was confirmed yesterday that Jordan Brand would be releasing a Chinese New Year Pack in 2017 consisting of two colorways of the Air Jordan 12 (one in men’s sizes and the other in GS) and the Air Jordan 31.

After taking a look at official images yesterday, today we give you a much more detailed look at all three pairs from the collection. The Air Jordan Chinese New Year Pack is expected to begin releasing overseas (China) on December 25th and again on January 7th. That will then be followed up by a January 28th release here in the U.S. Take a look at the detailed images above and stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for the latest updates.

We just came across another Michigan PE Air Jordan exclusive. This time around the model happens to be the Air Jordan 5. Michigan’s equipment Twitter account just shared just shared the images above and we’re pretty happy that they did.

This Air Jordan 5 Michigan PE comes in a nubuck Navy upper contrasted by the Maize hits placed on the shark teeth design on the midsole, Michigan branding on the side of the heel, and tongue. A tonal Navy midsole and icy translucent outsole round out the traits of the shoe. Get a good look at the shoe, but that’s all you’re going to do being that these don’t appear to be releasing to the public.

Taking the “Flight” theme that flies strong throughout the history of Jordan Brand, this winter the Air Jordan 15 Retro is reintroduced with the help of two flight jacket colorways of the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 8. Build off the stealth fighter inspiration of the Air Jordan 15, which returns in its original black colorway with red accents from 1999, the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 8 accompany it in the militaristic makeovers.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro takes cues from a P51 flight bomber jacket, featuring a premium Sequoia green nubuck upper with Vachetta Tan leather on the tongues and special “Flight” lace locks. Meanwhile, the Air Jordan 8 in its own Sequoia colorway also features hits of safety orange and incorporates neoprene into the upper’s construction for the first time.

The Air Jordan 15 Retro makes its debut on January 7th, while the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 8 take flight on January 28th and February 11th, respectively.

The Air Jordan 4 Royalty pays tribute to the elevated status of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature model with a luxurious full black nubuck construction while Metallic Gold accents hit the wing-inspired lace eyelets and branding throughout. What results is a pair that will be hard to pass up when it releases on February 5th, 2017.

The Air Jordan 4 Royalty also features a black-on-black mesh netting on the side panel for a more traditional construction while the original ‘Flight’ branded patch on the tongue contrasts in Metallic Gold. Another Christmas surprise is coming from Jordan Brand in the form of an unexpected restock. The Air Jordan 1 NYC and Air Jordan 1 LA will be available exclusively at Footaction this Friday, December 23rd.

The Air Jordan 1 “NYC” features a unique premium suede and leather upper and was initially only available at Jordan Brand’s first flagship retail location, the Jordan Flight 23 store in New York City. Unique sewer crate insoles and a cement speckled midsole unit paid homage to the concrete jungle in a simple yet effective colorway while a smokey grey outsole unit allowed for the hints of Team Red to stand out throughout the pair.

The Air Jordan 1 “LA” took a different approach. The premium nearly all-white leather pair benefits from a Vachetta Tan lining for a relaxed lifestyle approach while a blue-tinted icy outsole paid homage to the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean on the coast of Los Angeles. The luxe Air Jordan 11 Suede will mark an interesting break from tradition within Jordan Brand’s release strategy. There was a time not too long ago when December meant that was room for one (and only one) pair of Air Jordan 11s to dominate the holiday season. We’ve seen that shift lately with special packs like the Ultimate Gift Of Flight that paired a different 11 with the latest model in the series, but this month not only had the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam but a GS-exclusive Heiress colorway in consecutive weeks, but now a premium drop in the form of the Suede 11s.

This PRM designation also marks another break from tradition as it does away with the most famous feature of the shoe: the patent leather. Going with an all-suede upper gives the 11 a new and unfamiliar look that has divided the sneaker community with some welcoming the fresh take while others feel that this dilutes the model because it opens it up for other maybe less than desirable material makeups in the future.

But that discussion will be tabled for another time because what we really want to know is how does the suede material translate in NBA 2K17. The result? Looks like 2K Sports really likes that patent leather, or at least their code does.

In the game’s shoe editor you can easily create the Air Jordan 11 Suede. Since the upper is all-grey, it was just a matter of seeing whether or not we could actually bring the suede material into the actual court. And it almost works as you can see in the screenshots above, but because of how the Air Jordan 11 was probably scanned by 2K, the patent leather overlay had to stay regardless of what material you use. The final result is you can see the suede “skin” on the overlay but the shiny finish is retained, making it look like a grey version of the overlay found on the Air Jordan 11 72-10.

Jordan Brand will be celebrating the upcoming 2017 Chinese New Year in a big way as they have three big released lined up for next month.

The 2017 Air Jordan Chinese New Year Collection consists of a men’s colorway of the Air Jordan 12, a GS colorway of the Air Jordan 12, and the Air Jordan 31. Both 12s are highlighted by Chinese characters on the tongue and insoles, while all three pairs are hit with bamboo detailing on the midsole (Air Jordan 31), and the mudguard and upper eyelets (Air Jordan 12). Matching Jordan Brand Chinese New Year apparel will also be releasing alongside the sneakers.

When was the last time Jordan Brand dropped 3 different Air Jordan 11s in back-to-back-to-back weekends? First came the Space Jam, then the GS Heiress (Velvet), now we’ve got the premium Air Jordan 11 Suede on the way. If you’re a fan of the 11s, I feel sorry for your wallet, especially with this upcoming $400 Jordan 11 on the way.

The most expensive (retail price) Jordan 11 of all-time, the Air Jordan 11 Suede is the first pair of 11s labeled as “premium” or considered part of the Jordan Brand “pinnacle” collection. Keeping aesthetics at a minimum, Jordan Brand opts to go with a clean Grey suede upper sitting on top of a White midsole and milky translucent outsole. No branding on the heel or tongue on this pair since minimal is the name of the game on this release. It does come with quilted leather insoles, which is a nice premium touch to the shoe. It also appears to come with two Grey laces, one which happens to be done in leather. Releasing on December 23rd and retailing for $400, quantities are expected to be extremely limited. For all you GS-footers out there, the Air Jordan 3 GS Rio Teal is not a colorway you should be sleeping on. If you haven’t picked up an Air Jordan 3 since it made its return earlier this year, this could be a good one to start with. Releasing this weekend, here’s another look at this upcoming drop.

The shoe starts off with a Black leather upper. The tonal look is quickly broken up by the hits of Rio Teal on the midsole, lining and elephant print, and the Gold accents noted on the Jumpman branding noted on the tongue and heel. Done in a Light Bone colorway, the Jordan Eclipse Chukka ss constructed out of a woven textile upper accompanied by the neoprene used to create the tongue. Michael Jordan’s return to basketball as a Washington Wizard might be the more forgotten part of His Airness’s storybook career, but Jordan Brand has been dropping retro releases honoring his time in the nation’s capital for quite some time now. This weekend, we’ll be treated to the Air Jordan 16 “Midnight Navy”, a colorway straight from the D.C. archives featuring a premium white tumbled leather upper with a matching shroud overlay while iridescent qualities hit the Midnight Navy patent leather toe and tongue. Today we have some good news, too: you can now buy the Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy through Nike’s Early Access program.

The Air Jordan 16 was inspired by Mike’s obsession with another sport – golf. The outsole design mimics that of a gold green, but don’t be fooled – the Air Jordan 16 is a serious performance model. The shroud also sports contrast blue stitching while a silver quilted pattern adds some depth. An icy outsole and woven navy heel panel make for one of the more interesting Jordan retros in quite some time.

The Air Jordan 6 Chameleon consists as a brand new colorway of the iconic basketball sneaker, which is scheduled to make its debut during NBA All-Star Weekend, to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Sporting a stealthy black leather upper which reveals an iridescent finish that shifts in colors depending on certain lighting conditions, it’s suggested that this shimmering element is achieved when rubbed off, which was a prominent feature that was first found on the Air Jordan 12 Wings.

Additional design details include a Jumpman badge embroidery on the heels, 3M reflective accents, more iridescent accents on the lace tips and the clear translucent outsole also inheriting the iridescent detailing for a truly eye-catching finish.
