The Nike Lupinek Flyknit Releases This Thursday In Tan

Nike Sportswear championed the whole sneakerboot movement dating back to a couple of Fall/Winter seasons ago, but it wasn’t until the Swoosh brought back their iconic Nike ACG imprint that things started to get truly serious. The Nike Mowabb retro might not have caught the attention it deserved (perhaps the high price point was to blame) but that Tinker Hatfield creation was simply overshadowed by the likes of the Nike ACG Lupinek Flyknit. Today we get a look at the latest colorway from the weather resistant Flyknit offering, as a subtle tonal “Tan” look will arrive at retailers on November 3rd for $300 USD.

We already know that the Nike Lupinek Flyknit will be releasing in upcoming “Triple Black” and “Cargo Khaki” colorways on the same day, but the Tan aesthetic takes on a slight variation from the regular color blocking thanks to an off-white Flyknit base and tan accents on the premium leather ankle collar and durable mudguard.

The Swoosh even updated the Nike Lupinek Flyknit with a memory foam collar and Nike Free-inspired SFB outsole which now comes standard in all Lupinek releases. Both men’s and women’s sizes will drop on November 3rd so be on the lookout for this premium Nike ACG lifestyle offering to land at select retailers and on Nike.com.

Last week the NBA season got underway, but Los Angeles Lakers fans felt a feeling of emptiness since this was the first time in 20 years that the team entered a season without Kobe Bryant. So that probably means that his signature sneaker line with Nike is over, right? Nope.

Nike took to the time today to officially introduce Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoe, the Nike Kobe A.D. Kobe Bryant?s first post-retirement signature silhouette continues a legacy of lightweight, low-profile on-court footwear. Combining a Zoom Air unit in the heel, Lunarlon foam in the midsole and a minimal rubber outsole (with micro-tread traction), the shoe provides responsive, flexible cushioning and maximum court feel. A breathable mesh upper with incorporated Dynamic Flywire, ensures lock down for quick changes of direction toward the basket or to cover an opponent.

The Nike Kobe A.D., with a suggested retail price of $160, releases November 21 at nike.com and select retailers. What are your thoughts? Will you be copping a pair when they release?

Author’s Take

Mt first reaction is that I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. It’s “OK” for now. I look forward to seeing these in person and trying them on. I’d also like to see what other colorways Nike will cook up in the future.

Several College Teams Would Love This Nike KD 9 Release

We’ve already seen a number of Nike KD 9 PEs throughout the pre-season and the first week of the regular season, but we’re excited to see the numerous Golden State-themed colorways to follow throughout the year. The college basketball season is on the horizon too, and this upcoming November release of the Nike KD 9 Game Royal would fit perfectly into the Duke Blue Devils and Kentucky Wildcats PE rotation. We’ve already seen Coach K’s squad laced up with both a “Duke Home” and “Duke Away” KD 9, but can you think of any other NCAA squads that would benefit from this near-all-blue colorway?

The Nike KD 9 Game Royal utilizes the premium bolstered Flyknit construction with a marbled royal blue and black woven aesthetic throughout. A contrasting white Swoosh hits the side panel while an electric blue midsole nearly camouflages the visible 3/4 Zoom Air technology. The lining hits in a stark black to contrast. What do you think of the look?

Check out more official images of this upcoming KD 9 release below and be on the lookout for this pair to hit global retailers and Nike.com on November 23rd for $150 USD.

First Look At The Nike Presto Extreme

How many new styles of the Nike Presto can Nike Sportswear think of? The early 2000s running model has been as popular a retro from the Swoosh as any given its forward-thinking design, unique cage overlay, and a plethora of colorways with prints and graphics included. Of course, Flyknit had to be included in a revamp as did a weather-resistant upper and additional zippers for a more high-fashion aesthetic spearheaded by the folks over at ACRONYM. Today we get a look at one more overhaul in the Nike Presto Extreme.

The Nike Air Presto Extreme goes fully cage-less and instead opts for a new midfoot strap similar to the one found on the Nike Kyrie 2. The wrap-like midfoot section splits the shoe in half where a traditional neoprene toecap contrasts a bolstered ventilated sports mesh on the heel. The slip-on construction stays as does the original midsole and outsole unit. So far, we only have this Black/White colorway to show off courtesy of Inflammable, but we’re excited to see what other colorways are headed our way. What do you think of the Nike Presto Extreme?

Stay tuned for more updates regarding this new Nike Presto model right here on Sneaker News. Release date info coming in the near future.

Kobe Bryant And Nike Move On From Numbered Signature Shoes With The Kobe A.D.

Today, Nike officially unveiled the Kobe AD, the first post-retirement shoe for Kobe Bryant. Unlike other Black Mamba-branded performance basketball models like the Venomenon line, the Kobe A.D. is indeed considered a signature shoe. Technically, you’re looking at the Kobe 12, but Nike is doing away with the numbered system and the Kobe 11 is the last numbered signature shoe you’ll see from the Black Mamba – for now.

It’ll take some getting used to because every other signature line in history has progressed by way of numbered volumes, but with Kobe as the centerpiece, it shouldn’t be too much of an adjustment. It’s also a clever way to differentiate from the pool of signature shoes that currently populate the basketball market. This new development also leaves us to imagine what Nike will call the Kobe A.D. shoe after this installment, or what a Flyknit-laden “Elite” model could look like!

The Nike Kobe AD will release on Nike.com and Nike SNKRS on November 22nd with an MSRP $160.

The Nike SB Dunk High Purple Box Resembles The MF DOOM Collaboration

Nike Skateboarding continues to celebrate the joy of purchasing a brand new pair of shoes and all of the different colors their boxes were dressed up in over the years with yet another Nike SB Dunk colored up to represent Nike SB’s cardboard. The Nike SB Dunk High Purple Box has quite the familiar aesthetic though, as the entire look is undeniably similar to the iconic MF Doom Dunks (a pair that also came in the black and purple box that this pair alludes to).

Whether it’s the high-contrast white 3M reflective piping throughout, the subtle hint of premium ostrich leather on the side panels, and the touches of suede, the Nike SB Dunk High Purple Box pays homage to MF Doom’s collaboration or at least is inspired by it. If only we could get a proper retro in the near future. You don’t have to wait for this premium Nike SB Dunk High pair to arrive at retailers either. Find your size now on eBay. Full release details coming in the near future.

Nike Unveils The Kobe AD, His First Post-Retirement Shoe

Introducing Kobe Bryant’s first post-retirement sneaker, the Nike Kobe AD. Kobe’s illustrious career came to a close with one of the most signature Black Mamba moments possible – putting up 60 points including the go-ahead bucket in his final win at the Staples Center. Nike Basketball kept that in mind when crafting his latest silhouette, one that defines the “Mamba Mentality” through a low-profile model with micro-tread traction and a new Lunarlon foam midsole.

The Nike Kobe A.D. also features a flashy iridescent heel plate with a hidden Zoom Air unit that’s sure to warrant some attention for added stability and protection while a new mesh upper is aided by lockdown support through additional Dynamic Flywire. The debut colorway takes on a similar “Battle Grey” colorway for the season’s opening months while white branding allows for the magnificent heel construction to stand out.

?Even though I am not on the court every day, there are people around the world who are helping to keep the ?Mamba Mentality? alive,? Kobe Bryant said regarding his latest Nike Kobe AD model. ?I have seen it in basketball, football and with everyday individuals who are working to be better and are committed to being great.?

The Nike Kobe AD will arrive at select retailers and on Nike.com on November 21st for $160 USD. Check out more official photos below and let us know what you think of the Black Mamba’s first post-retirement shoe by taking your thoughts to the comments section.
