This Deal x Puma Disc Blaze consists as the latest installment between the Chinese sneaker boutique and German sportswear label.

As its official moniker implies, the sneaker’s aesthetic is essentially a nod to China’s most notable fur animal. Utilizing its distinctive black and white colorway, as well as its furry composition, the elements are prominent across the sneaker’s entirety.

In particular, horse hair is implemented on the toe box and quarter panel, while suede paneling and leather accents are utilized for the signature mid-foot cage and lace system. Furthermore, the insoles incorporate a graphic of a bamboo grove, as it all rests atop a matching black/white rubber sole unit.

Other notable details include subtle co-branding embossed on the leather heel tabs and additional touches of green gracing portions of the midsole unit and more prominently throughout the outsole.

It looks like the Puma x Rihanna relationship is working out quite nicely for both parties. Puma recently reported their first quarter statement and it appears as if sales are up 3.7%, in other words nearly $975 million USD (+7.3% currency adjusted), with the Puma footwear line being their main money maker with a ?strong momentum in women?s business.?

The company?s brand and marketing had this to say:

One highlight for PUMA in the first quarter was the FENTY PUMA by Rihanna fashion show at New York Fashion Week in February. A series of styles for the female consumer have been launched successfully, both in collaboration with Rihanna as well as in our inline collection. Key footwear styles such as Creeper and FENTY Trainer sold out within weeks or days.

Back in 2014, Rihanna became the creative director for Puma. Ever since she took that position she has helped Puma release the Fenty line which has been known to resale for over $1,000. The Puma CEO, Bjorn Gulden stated, ?The women?s business helps on the men?s side too. Rihanna opens the door.?

There is no doubt that Rihanna’s worldwide celebrity status has helped propel Puma with its increase in sales. 2016 is only going to get better for the brand and Puma.

Designed for the ladies, the Basket comes dressed in a metallic leather finish that comes in either a rose gold or dark indigo blue motif. The branding on the tongue and side panels also come in the same fashion. The rose gold pair comes with contrasting heel branding and soles, while the indigo blue goes the monochromatic route as the corresponding hue is placed from head to toe. It’s for sure not a runner. I wouldn’t classify it as your traditional slide. To be honest, I have no idea what is, so bear with me as I try to dissect the Puma x McQ Tech Runner Sandal.

Puma and McQ link up to collaborate on one of their must “unique” looking creations. Said to be a part of their joint 2016 Spring/Summer campaign, the Tech Runner Sandals noted above have the look of the high-top sneaker, but when you take a look at the areas such as the forefoot, toe and ankle, you notice open regions you usually find on a sandal. The actual construction consists of an ankle collar made out of sports mesh material, while the rest of the Runner Sandal appears to be made out of a leather material. Dual branding is noted on the heel and tongue. Coming in Black / Red or White / Blue, the Puma x McQ Tech Runner Sandal is now up for grabs at select retailers for $200. This isn’t the first time that Alexander McQueen and Puma have collaborated on a Puma sneaker. As a matter of fact, this isn’t the first time that they’ve worked on the Disc Blaze. With that being said, let’s take a look at their latest collaboration, the McQ x Puma Disc Blaze Blue.

The fashion friendly model comes dressed in a Bright Blue neoprene base paired up with the Navy leather paneling. Adding some contrast to the shoe is the White leather placed on the midfoot which blends in nicely withe the speckled white midsole. Dual branding is also placed on the midfoot. Lastly, a Gold heel cage gives the model some additional color. Available internationally, we will let you know if/when these arrive stateside.

A few days ago, I went ahead and reminded all of you that the Rihanna x Puma Fenty Fur Leadcat Slides were about to release. I made it clear that I was unsure whether or not the slides would sell well. It turns out that not only did they sell well at $80 a pop, the slide managed to sell out!

During a time where price hikes are the focal point of sneakerhead conversations, a furry slide had no problem selling at a retail price of $80. I think it’s safe to say that Rihanna’s presence is all that Puma had hoped for and more! The slides dropped yesterday in three different colorways, and all three colorways managed to sell out, and they did so even faster than Rihanna x Puma Suede Creeper collaboration that released not too long ago. This Rihanna x Puma connection is off to a good start. As long as Rihanna stays poppin’, it looks like anything Puma releases in collaboration with her will be an instant hit!
