The Current adidas CEO Is Leaving At A Wrong Time

adidas 1 adidas

Adidas‘ current chief executive officer, Herbert Hainer, may be leaving the company in a wrong time, as the iconic German sportswear company’s shares are now placed in the premium level of its rival, Nike, for the first time in six years.

Rising 7% Wednesday, the brand’s first-quarter performance was a lot better than what analysts had predicted, as constant-currency sales rose 22% and prompting management to push up earnings-growth projections by a half.

The explanation is essentially a combination of market strength and sought-after products, and with the Olympic Games and European soccer championship in June and July, the brand continues to gain more momentum throughout the summer.

The newly appointed CEO, Kasper Rorsted, is expected to take over in October 2016. Adidas made a 3.5% operating in the world?s largest sportswear market last year, compared to 26.6% for Nike, notes Barclays.

The adidas ClimaCool 1 just made its triumphant return a few weeks ago since its original release in the early 2000s.

From the looks of it, it’s wasting no time making noise as it has already collaborated with a very unlikely partner. Adidas has joined forces with Coca Cola? Yes, you read that right. One of the world’s largest sneaker brands has linked up with one of the world’s largest beverage companies to create a sneaker. The Coca Cola x adidas ClimaCool 1 comes with an all-red upper with gold accents to mimic the look of a Coca Cola can/bottle. The insoles feature a Coca Cola soccer ball logo since adidas is known for being the leaders in everything that has to do with soccer.

Available now at select adidas retailers for $120, what are your thoughts on this collaboration between Cocal Cola and adidas?

via: Sneaker Politics

Author’s Take

Coca Cola is making sneakers now? Whether this would have been a collaboration or not I think it’s a clean colorway. Red and gold is always a nice combination.

adidas Yeezy Boost 550

Release Date: TBA
Price: TBA

The adidas Yeezy Boost 550 is set to be the newest model to debut from the adidas x Yeezy collection. The 550 was first shown to the public during Kanye’s Season 3 fashion show. The Yeezy Boost 550 appears to come in an upper done in a Primeknit construction. The Primeknit upper rests on top of a Boost sole unit that mimics the one placed on the 350 Boost with only slight alterations. Other minor alterations include the higher cut/tongue that helps distinguish it from the 350 Boost. No release date yet, but be sure to check back for the latest info on the shoe.
