Nike Kobe 11 Asteroid

Remember Nike Sportswear’s short-lived Asteroid Collection? We’d like to forget that too. The unpopular space-themed gradient transformed the Nike Air Foamposite Pro into a kids-centric graphic but released in a full size run, only to linger on store shelves, falling victim to multiple markdowns because well, nobody wanted them. There is something to be said about the sunshine gradient though, one that saw shades of purple fade to orange and yellow. In a different context, the theme might be able to work. The Nike Kobe 11 EM is back featuring a similar aesthetic, as the engineered mesh shines thanks to the vibrancy found throughout. A smokey midsole unit adds some depth while black Swoosh branding allows you to focus at the tri-colored upper. What do you think of the Nike Kobe 11 “Asteroid”? Stay tuned for a release date in the near future right here on Sneaker News.

A Detailed Look At The NikeLab ACG Lupinek Flyknit Low

Nike’s All Conditions Gear was brought back in a major way in 2015, updating its terrain from trail-trekking to the modern landscape of navigating cities. While such classics like the Nike Air Mowabb finally saw a retro release for the first time since the 1990s, new creations like the NikeLab ACG Lupinek Flyknit Low definitely serve as a monument to just how far sneaker design has come in the period of two decades. The complex aesthetic sees Flyknit technology serve as a malleable base while a bolstered synthetic mudguard and Free outsole create a supportive flexibility. A touch of leather lands on the tongue while triangular grid patterns subtly hit in tonal qualities throughout both greyscale colorways. The Lupinek Flyknit Low will arrive at retailers later this Summer 2016 season. While we wait for release details to come to fruition in the near future, you can check out detailed images below.

With iterations from Eric Avar and Tinker Hatfield having already released, the ?Muse Pack? trilogy of the Nike Kobe 11 is capped off with this rendition by the brand’s CEO, Mark Parker.

The sneaker’s distinctive palette essentially takes cues from Bryant’s official moniker — The Black Mamba. Boasting a mixture of black and blue lagoon across the majority of its woven upper, hits of red are applied behind the tongue, while snake/reptilian detailing throughout further coordinate with the respective theme.

Finished off with contrasting hits of white gracing the Swooshes across its side panels and full-length Zoom sole unit, you can purchase this pair at select Nike retailers on May 26 for a retail price of $200.

Author’s Take

Out of the three pairs, this is the second best colorway. I liked Tinker’s creation to the most. Overall, I’m a fan of the silhouette and this should get some attention, especially since Bryant retired this year.

This first image that we see of the Acronym x Nike Air Presto features a mid height collar with a zipper on it as well as ACRNM branding. The shoe comes in a navy upper with white accents throughout.
