After getting a look at the all-new Nike Air Max Mercurial R9 in the Black/Reflect Silver colorway earlier this month, it is now back again with a new colorway for the Summer.

Dressed in white from head to toe, the Nike Air Max Mercurial R9 features a Hyperfuse mesh upper along with an Air Max sole for premium comfort. What was once know as only a soccer cleat, Nike has given the lifestyle look to this shoe and covered in the popular Triple White colorway. Some Reflective Silver accents have also been added for some slight contrast.

Available at Nike retailers in the near future for $120, what are your thoughts on this Triple White Nike Air Max Mercurial R9.

Author’s Take

Not bad, but not great either. I’ll have to pass on these.

As if the Nike Air Rift wasn’t “unique” enough already, NikeLab has taken the sneaker/sandal and given it a brand new look by removing the strap.

Known as the NikeLab Rift Wrap, this modified silhouette features a seamless upper that is constructed out of a ventilated mesh for some added breathability. Another new feature/addition is the Swoosh on the toe that gives the shoe some added flair. Coming in two tonal options of either all-black or all-white, you can expect the NikeLab Rift Wrap to release at select NikeLab locations in the near future.

What are your thoughts on this new “updated” version of the Nike Air Rift?

Author’s Take

Strap or no strap, I’m not a fan of the Air Rift. These are an easy pass for me.

The Carpe Diem Colorway Returns On The Nike Kobe 11 Tomorrow

The Carpie Diem theme/colorway will be making its triumphant return on the Nike Kobe line tomorrow when it lands on the Nike Kobe 11.

Instead of going with the traditional Flyknit upper, Nike decided to dress up this Kobe 11 with an engineered mesh upper that we’ve seen on a couple of recent Kobe 11 releases. This Nike Kobe 11 Carpe Diem features a Black mesh on the upper with contrasting hits of White, Court Purple and University Gold throughout different areas of the shoe. Serving as the icing on the cake is the quilted stitched pattern that shows up on the inner liner and Kobe Bryant’s signature on the heel of the right shoe.

Arriving at select Nike retailers tomorrow, May 21st, will you be picking up the Nike Kobe 11 Carpe Diem? Retail price has been set at $160.

Author’s Take

The colorway on this Kobe 11 is cool if you’re a Kobe/Lakers fan, the only thing I’m disappointed with is the engineered mesh upper instead of Flyknit. Why?

Carpe Diem, Which Started With The Kobe 2, Is Back On The Nike Kobe 11

Not having the Black Mamba in the Lakers’ starting lineup won’t really hit home until the beginning of next season, but in the meantime, Nike Basketball is making sure you remember Kobe’s Hollywood legacy with the release of the Nike Kobe 11 EM “Carpe Diem” this Saturday, May 21st. If you can remember, the “Carpe Diem” look first landed on the Kobe 2 featuring an all-black upper, synthetic croc skin on the toecap and just the right amount of Court Purple and University Gold throughout. Here the Kobe 11 ditches the usual Flyknit construction that has been a standard for the past three signature Kobe installments for a breathable Engineered Mesh instead. A subtle yellow grid hits the lining while a Lakers-themed Swoosh is outlined in Court Purple for a ‘PE’ vibe. Are you a fan of the look? Check out more detailed photos below and let us know if you plan on grabbing this latest Kobe pair come Saturday by taking your thoughts to the comments section.

The Nike Kobe 11 Carpe Diem, the next variation of Bryant’s last on-cour sneaker, is set to make its official debut at select retailers this weekend.

Taking cues from a classic colorway first seen on the Kobe 4 which launched back in 2009, the distinctive palette essentially dresses this latest pair. Black comprises its engineered mesh upper and synthetic overlays, while a nod to the Los Angeles Lakers signature colors is evident with court purple and university gold prominently gracing the Swooshes, sheath logo on the tongue, grid stitching pattern on the inner lining and more branding on the heel.

All resting atop a translucent outsole, you can purchase this standout pair at select Nike stockists on Saturday, May 21st for $160.

Author’s Take

I wasn?t aware that this particular colorway was inspired by a previous model until now. I wasn?t really into Bryant?s sneakers back then. I do like this silhouette a lot and the execution was nicely done. Fans should be excited as well.

Look for the Kyrache iteration to debut next month.
