Author’s Take

I’m a big fan of the Roshe Run so it’s always exciting to see Nike creat new silhouettes that take inspiration from it. I like this pair but would want to see it in a different colorway.

Nike Designs New Track Spike To Help Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce In Her Olympic Journey

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will be participating in this year’s Summer Olympics where she’ll try to record a record personal time in the women?s 100-meter sprint.

Nike wants to help her achieve that goal and they are helping Shelly by creating a new track Spike specifically for her. The new Nike Superfly Elite Spike features a new plate that provides the perfect stiffness for the sprinter’s power and foot size.

So what Nike did was develop and integrate breakthrough technology to enhance performance further than ever before. They achieved this by using computational design and rapid 3D prototyping to allow Shelly to test different fits of the track spike. The Nike design team created a new spike plate that eliminated traditional screw-in spikes in favor of fixed pins and an increase of secondary traction. What this does is ensure that the foot is closer to the track and at the same time faster off it.

Combine all these things and Nike hopes that they have created the perfect track spike with the Nike Superfly Elite Spike that will be worn by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at the Olympic games in Rio.

Nike Zoom Trout 3 1 Nike Zoom Trout 3 2 Nike Zoom Trout 3 3 Nike Zoom Trout 3 4 Nike Zoom Trout 3 5

After unveiling the Nike Air Zoom Trout 3 just last week, Nike now gives us a look at the non-cleat version of Mike Trout’s third signature shoe.

The Nike Zoom Trout 3 cushioning system introduces visible Zoom Air to the Mike Trout’s signature line for the first time. Geometric divots on the outsole help prevent dirt from clinging to the plate, helping minimize any drag in motion. This colorway features a grey upper with volt accents on the branding, and the midsole/outsole.

What are your thoughts?

Nikes Marketing Expenses Are About The Same As Under Armours Sales

Are you curious to know how Nike and Under Armour compare to each other with UA’s recent boom thanks to Stephen Curry’s signature sneakers? It turns out that UA has LOTS of catching up to do.

Sales for NIKE, Inc. rose 6 percent to $32.4 billion last year in comparison to 2014, which is an increase of 12%. That breaks down to $89 million per day; $3.7 million per hour, $62K minute, $1000 per second. Nike also spent $3.3 billion strictly on “demand creation”, or as we know it, marketing. In comparison, Under Armour did $3.96 billion in sales last year.

This statistic was pointed out by Sports Industry Analyst Matt Powell. Looks like Under Armour isn’t even close to being in the same category as Nike in terms of numbers. Numbers don’t lie.

What If Penny Hardaway Wore the Nike Air Foamposite One At The Olympics

Playing in the Nike Zoom Flight ’96 for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Penny Hardaway was about one year too early for the chance to play in the Air Foamposite One on the way to a gold medal. Nike Sportswear imagines what an “Olympic” version of the Foamposite One may have looked like, with this all-new colorway sporting a patriotic makeover in red, white, and blue. The USA theme is executed perfectly on this edition of the 1997 Penny Hardaway signature model, featuring a white Foamposite upper with obsidian blue detailing and red inner lining. Of course, they had to throw in some gold as well, with each 1 Cent logo on the heels and tongues in a metallic gold finish, while gold stitching is found down the tongue and bordering the Swooshes. Check out a detailed look at the Air Foamposite One “Olympic” here today, and keep in mind you’ll be able to pick up a pair before the Rio games start, as they drop at select Nike Sportswear retailers on July 22nd.

Scottie Pippen Thought The Nike Air More Uptempo Was Arrogant The First Time He Saw It

Having your own signature sneaker no matter how big or how small is always a special experience. But have you ever wondered what people’s first reactions are to seeing the finished product? Scottie Pippen sat down with Sole Collector recently and talked about what his first reaction was when he saw the Nike Air More Uptempo way back in 1996.

“I thought the shoe was a bit arrogant actually,”

Imagine that. 20 years later the shoe is set to retro once again in the OG Olympic colorway in honor of the 2016 Summer Olympics and the silhouette’s 20th anniversary. So what are Scottie’s thoughts on the shoe 20 years later? “I think it’s been a shoe that stood the test of time,” Pippen said. “I think it will always be a very popular shoe. I think kids like it?it?s definitely a shoe that stands out.”

We couldn’t agree with you more. That “AIR” branding is iconic and like nothing we’ve seen before. Will you scooping up the Olympic colorway when it returns on July 20th?

One of the nicer colorways of the Nike Hyperdunk 2008 that I’ve seen. It would be cool to see some of the team USA members actually wear this pair during the Olympics.

A Better Look At The Nike KD 9 Unlimited

nike-kd-9-unlimited_1

What you see above is a brand new colorway of the Nike KD 9. Dubbed the Nike KD 9 Unlimited, what makes this colorway even more interesting, is the fact that this color scheme will be in full use for the Olympics in Rio this Summer.

The Unlimited colorway will be used in several different models, one being the Nike KD 9. The colorway consists of a mix of Volt, Hyper Punch and Black. The Unlimited colorway is said to be inspired by the iridescent hues of tropical fauna and the speedof athletes in motion. As of right now, the shoe is scheduled to release on August 4th along with the rest of the sneakers donning the same look. Are you a fan of the style?

Author’s Take

I like the fact that they opted to give with something other than the traditional Red, White and Blue. It’s bold and vibrant, but it’s not too out there. I like it.
