First Look at the Nike Air Max Zero Be True

Nike Sportswear’s ongoing initiative to support the LGBT community grabbed the attention of the sneaker world with the release of the rainbow accented Nike Sock Darts that demanded people “Be True” to themselves and others. Now Tinker Hatfield’s sample back from the dead, the Nike Air Max Zero, will be releasing in the “Be True” aesthetic in the future. Right now all we have is this little teaser courtesy of international man of mystery US11, who decided to preview one of the more noticeable callouts on the shoe – the rainbow-colored visible air unit and what appears to be a matching gradient outsole. Stay tuned for a full preview of the upcoming Nike Air Max Zero “Be True” in the near future and let us know if you’re excited about the release by taking your thoughts to the comments section.

Release Reminder: Nike Kobe 11 Mark Parker

Following Eric Avar and Tinker Hatfield’s iterations, the last variation of the Nike Kobe 11 from the special edition “Muse” trilogy is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

With this particular pair designed by the Swoosh’s C.E.0, Mark Parker, the basketball sneaker’s theme essentially takes cues from Bryant’s infamous moniker — The Black Mamba.

Flaunting mixture of black and blue lagoon across its intricately woven upper, the component bears subtle snake skin-like details to evoke the ferocious snake. Tonal black reptilian detailing are prominent on the leather heel tab, with more leather accents gracing the tongue.

Finished off with contrasting white Swooshes across its side panels and a full length sole unit, you can purchase this pair at select Nike stores tomorrow, May 26 for $200.

Author’s Take

Out of the three pairs, this is the second best colorway. I liked Tinker?s creation to the most. Overall, I?m a fan of the silhouette and this should get some attention, especially since Bryant retired this year.

Best Look Yet At The Nike KD 9 Oreo

Kevin Durant stressed the importance of including Flyknit in his ninth signature shoe with Leo Chang and Nike Basketball after being envious of Kobe’s woven styles for the past few seasons. (You can read more of our latest interview with Durant here). Not only did the Swoosh respond with the first Flyknit pair of KDs ever in the Nike KD 9, but the brand also dropped the price down to a very manageable $150 USD which is sure to make this model a hit both on and off the court throughout 2016. Today we get a look at the upcoming KD 9 “Oreo”, a pair that brings back the familiar high-contrast black and white Flyknit look featuring a 50/50 split of solid black by the heel and a marbled mixture of both shades on the forefoot and toe. What do you think of Kevin’s latest signature? Check out a detailed look below and while a release date isn’t available just yet, select sellers on eBay have this pair in stock right now.

NBA Kicks On Fire: Kevin Durant Rocks The Nike KD 9 Again And Sends The Warriors To The Brink

Well, this is unexpected. Prior to the playoffs, plenty of so-called experts and casual fans (raises hand) were predicting that the Golden State Warriors would steamroll their way to the NBA Finals with relative ease. With the way the brackets turned out, they would only have to face one of either the Spurs or the Thunder and most thought it would be San Antonio who would give the Warriors trouble. But as the games went on, that thinking started to shift in the favor of the Thunder as they got better and better. And now we’re here four games into the Western Conference Finals and OKC has smacked the Warriors to the tune of 3-1 advantage. Shows you what we know, kind of like how we all thought the Cavs would destroy the Raptors, right?

A lot of the credit has to go to Nike KD 9, uh… I mean Kevin Durant and the Air Jordan XXX, errr… actually Russell Westbrook. With the OKC big men providing the toughness, rebounding and defense, Durant and Westbrook have been able to score at a high rate especially at home. Durant once again wore the Nike KD 9 Cool Grey Preheat while Russell Westbrook continues to make the Air Jordan XXX look good, no matter how orange it gets.

Dark Blue On The Nike Air Max Plus

Nike Air Max Plus Nike Air Max Plus 1

Initially introduced in 1998, the classic Nike Air Max Plus returns in a new variation for Spring 2016, as the runner is treated in a subdued colorway.

Flaunting a denim-like upper composed of breathable mesh, the model’s distinctive aesthetic is evident on the component as well, which consists of wavy black overlays that also reinforces the sneaker’s overall build.

Further detailed with a nubuck heel counter and mudguard, the silhouette is finished off with its signature full-length sole unit equipped with air bubbles for enhanced cushioning and support.

You can find this pair at select Nike accounts overseas first, while a stateside release is imminent.

Author’s Take

I don’t own a pair but I do like how it looks. I’m just an advocate for runners and it looks really solid and versatile in this colorway.

A New Nike SB Stefan Janoski Inspired By Pizza

If you weren’t really a fan of the marble sculpture-inspired colorway of the Nike SB Stefan Janoski that we showed you earlier today, we have another delicious alternative.

This time around the Stefan Janoski gets graphic as the entire upper is covered in a realistic pizza image. In addition to the pepperoni pizza upper we see red land on the inner liner and piping, while white finishes things off on the laces, Swoosh branding, and vulcanized rubber midsoles.

Already arriving at select international Nike SB retailers, it should only be a matter of time until these land in the states.

Author’s Take

I love pizza just as much as the next person, but I don’t think I would wear shoes that have a picture of a pizza all over them.

While we patiently wait for the stateside release date for the Nike SB Stefan Janoski Floral Digi-Camo, today we take a look at another Janoski that uses pretty much no color at all.

This latest colorway of the popular sneaker from Nike SB features an upper that is made to resemble marble sculptures as we can see a crackled black and white leather upper with additional white detailing on the Swoosh, laces, inner liner, and vulcanized rubber midsole.

Do you think Nike pulled off the marble sculpture look on this SB Stefan Janoski? Cop your pair at select Nike SB retailers now.

Author’s Take

There’s too much white on this pair of Janoskis which means they’ll get dirty really easily. These are a pass for me.

NBA Kicks On Fire: Raptors Tie Series, Drake Shows Up And So Does The Nike Kobe 5 Black Mamba

Of course Drake showed up for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between his hometown Raptors and the Cavs. Now that the Raptors have shown some signs of life during a Game 3 blowout win, it was only a matter of time before Drizzy got back on the bandwagon. Of course, the real reason why Drake wasn’t around for Game 3 was due to prior commitments, but it makes for a more fun story if he didn’t bother showing up because he was afraid of witnessing a beatdown of his Raptors.

Thankfully the Raptors were better than that and the rest of the world – yours truly included – had to basically apologize for not taking them seriously. I still think the Cavs will ultimately take the series and get killed by the Thunder or Warriors but Toronto is no slouch now.

Last night’s kicks saw plenty of repeats and DeMar DeRozan once again did the double dip with the Nike Black Mamba Pack, but this time he did so with the Nike Kobe 3 and Nike Kobe 5.

The Clean Looking Nike SB Dunk Low Black / Gum Is On The Way

An upcoming colorway of the Nike SB Dunk Low opts to take the subtle route as the classic Black/Gum look makes its way to the classic silhouette. If you’re on the hunt for something a bit subtle yet eye-catching, this could be the sneaker you’re looking for.

The low-top SB starts off with an all-black tonal suede upper. The same hue extends to the laces, lining and branding to give the shoe a monochromatic finish. Breaking up the all-black aesthetic is the White midsole and Gum outsole. Adding a premium feel to the shoe is the premium leather found on the tongue, inner lining and heel tab. Nothing fancy, just an SB Dunk Low that gets the job done. Said to be dropping in the next few weeks, let us know what you think.

via: HB

Author’ Take

Although I’m a fan of the color scheme, I think I like my SB Dunk Lows with a little more depth. It’s clean, but it’s still a pass for me.
