The latest colorway of the Nike Kobe 11 hit retailers today with the arrival of the Nike Kobe 11 Mark Parker.

This colorway of the Kobe 11 takes inspiration from the relationship between Nike CEO Mark Parker and Kobe Bryant as well as Kobe’s ?The Black Mamba? nickname. Featuring a combination of Black, Racer Blue and White, the Nike Kobe 11 Mark Parker also comes with subtle details reflecting the black mamba snake. From the re-engineered Flyknit pattern and laces to the tongue and shoe underbelly, reptilian details designed by Parker subtly come to life on this new shoe.

This Mark Parker is my 2nd favorite pair from the Kobe 11 Muse Pack. It?s pretty hard to top the Tinker Hatfield pair, but the combination of black and royal blue on the Flyknit upper does look nice.

The Nike Air Max Plus switches from its usual gradient mesh upper to a whole new look this summer, with this latest version of the cult classic runner in a denim construction. The Air Max Plus from 1998 gets the blues this season, sporting a new blue jean upper with black accents for the TPU piping, mudguard, and midsole. Unfortunately, it looks like this may be yet another Foot Locker Europe and Australia exclusive of the Tuned Air model, but keep an eye out at your local Foot Locker to see if they surface here in the US.

Those quickly flew off the shelves, but for those who missed out on that big release, Nike is dropping a similar style that features a daring mix of red threads on the Elite Flyknit upper. Dubbed the “Red Horse”, this premium pair makes use of a white leather tongues and heels with an added pull-tab seen only on the 4KB issues. The latest Nike shoe to get the woven treatment is none other than the Nike Tennis Classic. Dropping really soon, let’s get a closer look at the Nike Tennis Classic Woven.

With Spring /Summer season in full effect, there’s no better time to wear breathable shoes, and what better way to do that than with a woven upper on your sneakers. Instead of the customary suede we’re used to seeing on the upper, a woven construction takes its place as its spotted on the side panels in nylon/premium leather fashion. The rest of the shoe comes in a tonal leather build done in either Light Grey or Black. Embossed branding and leather tongue tags give the shoe even more of a premium appeal, while the use of an ultra sole assures that the shoe will be lighter and more comfortable than the original Tennis Classic. The woven look works okay on this model. If I could change one thing about the shoe is that I would have made the woven hits in all leather and not use the nylon construction at all.

Any Cristiano Ronaldo fans out there? If so, I advise that you continue reading. Nike just unveiled a pack that pays tribute to the soccer sensation. With Nike currently preparing to host an extensive exhibition dedicated to ?football, speed and innovation?, at the Paris Palais de Tokyo.

As a part of the even, Nike will release a new collection by French artist, Ugo Gattoni comprised of 4 different sneakers, in which one happens to pay tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dubbed the Palais of Speed Pack, the collection will feature the Nike Footscape Magista Fyknit done in a Black/Grey/Anthracite colorway, a Nike Mercurial Free Superfly done in Navy Blue, a Nike Zoom Mercurial Flyknit and a Nike Air Force 1 Low done in Bright Blue that’s said to be the Cristiano Ronaldo version. The collection will be at the Palais of Speed from June 5th to June 18th in the French capital. The Nike Footscape Magista Flyknit drops on June 11th, the Nike Zoom Mercurial Flyknit on June 18th, while the two others are still waiting on a release date.

The grand opening of the new Nike Detroit Community Store took place earlier today, as the latest flagship is located in downtown?s historic F.W. Woolworth Co. building, at 1261 Woodward Avenue.

As with other Community Stores that have opened nationwide, the new space aims to hire at least 80 percent of its team from within a five-mile radius of the location, capture the spirit of the city with the store?s curated local design and product offerings, as well as to ensure that its retail associates have an opportunity to give back to the surrounding community.

It’s also worth noting that the Detroit Community Store will be the first to offer $40,000 in annual grants of $5,000 each to eight local non-profit groups via the the brand’s expand Community Impact Fund.

In total, Community Store teams across the nation will award $290,000 each year in their communities in partnership with CAF America and the Oregon Community Foundation.
