Catch The Olympic Vibes With This Nike Air Foamposite One That Drops Next Week
By SoleInsider
Before this week we all thought that that Nike Air Foamposite One Olympic was going to release today, but with everything else going on at Nike/Jordan Brand this week, the release was pushed back a few days.
We are now expected to see this patriotic Foamposite arrive at retailers on Tuesday, July 26th. This Olympic colorway of the Nike Air Foamposite One features a pristine white foam upper with Obsidian, University Red and Metallic Gold accents seen throughout the rest of the shoe. The gold detailing on the One Cent logo and the special stars and stripes insoles complete the Olympic/patriotic theme.
You’ll be able to purchase your pair early next week for a retail price of $250. Make sure to click and bookmark our Nike Air Foamposite One Olympic launch page for the latest images, release information and updates.
I?m not a fan of Foams, but a colorway comes around every so often that catches my attention. This Olympic pair is pretty nice, but I wouldn?t be willing to pay anywhere near $250 for it.
It turns out that Bryant visited the Netherlands yesterday which will be followed by Italy today, the place where he moved with his family as a child. The mission/goal for Kobe and Nike’s visit to Europe is to inspire and engage young athletes while affirming Bryant’s legacy as a dedicated teacher and relentless innovator. Take a look at some images from day 1 of his Europe tour and stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more.

Buy, Pass, Wait: Air Jordan 5, Pharrell x adidas NMD, Nike Sportswear Olympic Collection
By SoleInsider
Nike Air is back on a classic retro and it somehow costs more than the latest Air Jordan. That’s right, the $220 Air Jordan 5 Black Metallic Silver that is dropping on Saturday somehow costs $35 more than the recently revealed Air Jordan 31. Will that sobering fact have any effect on the sales performance of the 5s this weekend? Nope, and as evidenced by our discussion about this weekend’s releases for Buy, Pass, Wait, it’s the least of our worries when it comes to that drop.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (PASS) Just this past week, I managed to find a pair of Laney Air Jordan 5s for a decent close-to-retail price so my desire to cop another pair of 5s, Nike Air or not, has dropped significantly. Now if I can just convince somebody to part with their Tokyo 23s…
Renz Orfiaza, News: (PASS) You can’t go wrong with the colorway. It’ll obviously get a lot of attention since it’s a revived classic, but, I’m not too inclined on purchasing anymore.
Juan Carrillo, News: (PASS) Aside from the Air Jordan 1, Nike Air branding on Jordans isn’t really a big deal to me. I actually sold my pair of Metallic 5s earlier this year. I used to love this shoe, but over time I’ve kind of gotten over it. I know it’s a classic, but it’s a pair I feel I can live without.
Andres Carrillo, News: (WAIT) I’ve always wanted the Air Jordan 5 in this black/metallic silver colorway, but if it means paying $220 plus tax for it I’m gonna have to pass on them. The materials don’t seem all that better than then 2011 pair so I don’t think I can justify the price increase just for the Nike Air branding. The only way I’ll buy them is if they fall to less than $200, which they probably won’t.
Pharrell x adidas HU NMD
Politics
EIC Juan: (PASS) Like the yellow pair, prefer the red that I saw him wear a few weeks ago at an adidas event. $240 is steep especially since regular Primeknit NMDs are $170 if you can find them.
Renz: (BUY) I’m biased towards the NMD profile and I like the deconstructed look of the lacing system as well. It’s an exclusive pair so it holds more value, but, I’m looking forward to more colorways.
News Juan: (BUY) I love the look and color of the shoe (I’m a sucker for Yellow sneakers). I get that it’s a collaboration but I can do without the large HUMAN RACE branding all over the shoe. With that being said, if someone were to offer me a pair at retail I’d take them without thinking about it twice.
Andres: (PASS) Pretty dope pair of NMDs, but a $240 price tag? Really? I mean it’s not like I was gonna have a chance at even buying these, but even if I did that price is ridiculous.
EIC Juan: (PASS) At first glance I thought these were just different versions of the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Beach. Eh, it’s a nice color scheme but they’re still Air Jordan 2s and while I don’t loathe 2s like I do 13s, it’s not that far off…
Renz: (BUY, I’ll try since a Europe-exclusive) I’m all for the colorway and I basically like the lifestyle appeal of the model.
News Juan: (WAIT) Being that the shoe appears to be an overseas exclusive, I have no choice but to wait in hopes of these arriving stateside. Honestly, the fact that it pays homage to the Quai 54 streetball tournament is not one of the reasons why I like the shoe. As a matter of fact if I had the option of removing the Quai 54 branding on the tongue, I’d do it. I just like the color scheme on the shoe.
Andres: (PASS) This is a pretty decent colorway of the Air Jordan 2 but I just don’t like it enough to actually buy it. I feel like it would be so hard to take care if it and keep it mint condition cause of the color and materials.
Under Armour Curry 2.5 49ers
Under Armour
EIC Juan: (PASS) It’s not an official 49ers colorways since Nike owns everything NFL-related when it comes to gear, so this is just tangetialy related to the greatest franchise in all of sports. Don’t…
Renz: (PASS) The color combo is appealing but that’s about it. I’m not really into the silhouette, although, the theme is a nice option of the silhouette recently.
News Juan: (PASS) I really don’t like the gradient/pattern used on the upper. There’s better options of the Curry 2.5 out there, there’s now way I’d spend my money on this pair. It kind of looks rushed, no?
Andres: (PASS) I didn’t really like the Curry 2 and I can say the same about the 2.5. Out of all the colorways that have released this may be one of the worst ones.
Nike Sportswear Olympic Collection
EIC Juan: Nike Hyperdunk 2008 United We Rise
Nike
I remember first seeing these in DIME Magazine and have wanted them ever since. While I would prefer to get the Kobe PE version, this pair is more than an adequate subsitute. If I didn’t already have Nike Air Zoom Flight 96, those would be my pick but we can’t go wrong with these either.
Renz: Nike Air Force 180
Nike
I had the chance to purchase it four years ago but passed. I’ve always liked this silhouette in this colorway. It’s appealing for both on and off the court.
News Juan: Nike Air Force 180
Nike
I’ve never owned this model, but this Olympic colorway is screaming my name. The color scheme is executed perfectly, and it has just enough Gold accents to help give the shoe some pop.
Andres: Nike Air More Uptempo
Nike
Now that I really think about it I regret passing up on the Air More Uptempo. The shoe has such a unique look to it and this Olympic colorway is so clean. I think it was easily the best Olympic release of 2016. Maybe I can still find myself a pair for retail.
Kobe Bryant Heads To Europe With Nike To Inspire Next Generation
By SoleInsider
To many of the NBA’s elite players today, Kobe Bryant was their Michael Jordan. The Black Mamba will go down as one of the game’s greatest players of all time, and while he’s hung up his signature sneakers for good, he’s still determined to make a global impact on the game of basketball. Nike Basketball and Kobe have partnered for a tour of Europe to help reach out to and inspire the next generation of basketball players. He landed in the Netherlands recently and spoke to at Nike’s European Headquarters in Hilversum. He spoke to an eager crowd and even instructed at a brief basketball clinic. His next stop is in Italy, the country he grew up in while watching his dad play professionally at the international level. The tour will honor Kobe’s earliest and most influential basketball memories while giving back to the next generation through a multi-city tour. Check out a brief recap of his Hilversum stop and stay tuned for more updates on the Black Mamba’s road trip right here on Sneaker News.
Celebrate Ken Griffey Jr.s Hall Of Fame Induction With The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 InductKid
By SoleInsider
Celebrate Ken Griffey Jr.’s Hall Of Fame induction this weekend with the pristine Nike Air Griffey Max 1 InductKid.
This celebratory pair of Griffey Max 1s features a an all-white leather upper with perforations that can be seen throughout. The only hits of color come on the Swoosh branding on the tongue and heel which have been done in bronze to reference the statue/hardware he?ll receive at the hall of fame. A white midsole, strap, laces, and outsole keep things tonal.
Select retailers already have this pair available but a wider release will be coming tomorrow. Retail price is $150.
Being that this is a reference to Ken Griffey Jr.?s hall of fame induction, I think Nike could have done a much better and creative job with these. There?s nothing really memorable about an all-white sneaker.
First Look At The Air Jordan 3 True Blue Retro With Nike Air
By SoleInsider
We know that the “True Blue” Air Jordan 3 is releasing with OG Nike Air branding on the heel this year on Black Friday, but we still haven’t gotten a look at the actual shoe. That changes today, as we get a first glance at what the future holds for Air Jordan fans the day after Thanksgiving. Retroing for this first time ever with the original Nike Air logo, the beloved True Blue will be at the top of the list for many Air Jordan collectors this holiday season, and one of the most anticipated retros of the entire year, for that matter. The remastered edition will also feature full OG Nike branding on the outsole and sockliner as well, and appears to be constructed with quality full-grain leather. Enjoy your first preview of the True Blues, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for even better images.
The Nike LeBron Soldier 10 Dunkman Releases In August
By SoleInsider
The traditional “Dunkman” colorway is back once again on a LeBron James signature sneaker for 2016. This time around it’s the Nike LeBron Soldier 10 that gets the familiar color scheme, featuring one of the boldest interpretations of the Dunkman theme yet with a high contrast split of white and grey mesh for the upper, accented with the usual Electric Green highlights. We now have our best look yet at the “Dunkman” Soldier 10, and we also now know that they’ll be releasing in August. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for an exact date.
The next variation of the Nike LeBron 13 GS takes inspiration from Cleveland’s own superhero — LeBron James.
Leading his hometown team with their first championship in over fifty years, the basketball sneaker receives an understated makeup with black and white comprising its overall palette. A spray painted-like speckled detail is focalized on the hyperposite overlay, while it also flows throughout the rear portion of its midsole unit.
Further detailed with a striped print on the Swoosh the model is topped off with a clean, white outsole. The simple black and white essentially represents the animated pages on a classic comic.
Retailing for a price tag of $160, you can expect to find this pair at select Nike Basketball retailers starting August 8th.
Honor The Summer Games With The Nike Air Foamposite One Olympic
By SoleInsider
The 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is soon approaching (Aug. 5 – 21) and this rendition of the Nike Air Foamposite One will be commemorating the international sporting event, as well as Team USA basketball’s quest for another gold medal.
Essentially treated in a patriotic palette, the dominating tone consists of white across the distinctive molded upper, while obsidian colors the tongue, laces and eye stays, which is then followed by pops of red on the inner lining to encapsulate the respective theme. Further pronounced with metallic gold accents on the lace tips and 1 cent logos on the rear as a nod to the first-place medals, the model is topped off with an icy blue translucent outsole.
You can purchase this pair at select Nike stores on July 26th for a price tag of $250.
Click and bookmark our official Nike Air Foamposite One Olympic launch page now for more images, videos and release details.
One of my fave basketball silhouettes and I like this pair a lot. I like how the colors were laid out and these should garner a lot of attention, especially for fans of the model.

A Volt/Black Nike Flyknit Racer Will Be Releasing This Summer
By SoleInsider
Earlier this year we saw the Nike Flyknit Racer release in yet another Multicolor version that satisfied people’s needs to finally have a multicolor pair in their collection. Ever since then we haven’t seen any new offerings from the Flyknit racer other than the Total Orange colorway last month.
Today we take a look at an upcoming pair that is sure to make some noise this Summer. Following in the same footsteps as the Air Presto Ultra Flyknit, this new colorway of the Flyknit Racer takes on the eye-catching Volt/Black color scheme. The entire Flyknit upper features a combination of Black and Volt with additional Black accents landing on the tongue, laces, inner liner, midsole, outsole, and the lateral Swoosh logos. The medial Swooshes are done in White along with the midsole.
Scheduled to release later this Summer, what are your thoughts on this Volt/Black colorway of the Nike Flyknit Racer? Do you anticipate picking up a pair?
I’ve never owned a pair of volt sneakers but this just might have to be my first pair. The combination of black and volt just looks so clean on the Flyknit Racer.
Whos Ready For The Return Of The Nike Air Tech Challenge 4
By SoleInsider
As we’ve previously informed you here on Kicks On Fire, the Nike Air Tech Challenge 4 will be making a return in 2016.
One of those colorways that we can expect to see at retailers is this Grey/White/Orange pair that we see above. Leather and nubuck constuct the upper while pink and orange detailing have been added above the midsole as well as on the speckling on the midsole. Nike Air branding on the heel and the legedary tennis ball graphic on the tongue finish off this pair of Tech Challenge 4s that should be arriving at select retailers in the near future.
An Official Look At The Nike Air Max BW Ultra SE Olympic
By SoleInsider
The Nike Air Max BW Ultra SE Olympic is yet another of a handful of Nike models paying homage to this year’s Summer Olympics. The USA-inspired silhouette dons Old Glory’s colors (sort of) to give the shoe its patriotic look.
The Air Max BW Ultra comes dressed in a Pure Platinum, Metallic Gold and Midnight Navy color scheme. Unique features on the shoe include the seamless upper, the USA logo on the tongue and the Metallic Gold Nike Swoosh branding on the side panels. Said to be releasing July 28th for $130, let us know how many of you plan on picking up a pair.
The shoe’s construction looks really good, especially the seamless upper, but when it comes to the USA theme, I’d rather pick up another pair that’s more USA-themed heavy.
Along with the crop of colorways for the all-new Flyknit construction of the Air Max 1 dropping July 28th, the latest evolution of the shoe will also be available for customization on NIKEiD. The iD version of the shoe is previewed here today, and since it’s sporting an American flag on the heel, it looks like the Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit will be included in the country options available already for a number of models for this summer’s Olympic festivities. The Flyknit Air Max will be customizable beginning on the same date as the shoe’s standard drop on July 28th.
