Fun With NIKEiD UAAP Season 79 Edition: Team Colorways For All 8 Schools

And now for something #SoPinoy (aka we have lot of readers from the Philippines).

This past weekend, UAAP Season 79 kicked off and it’s a new era for the country’s most well-known college basketball tournament. After a five-year stretch that many would argue was among the best the college scene had ever seen, there are many new faces taking on the legacy that the likes of Kiefer Ravena and Bobby Ray Parks. And in a hoops crazed country like the Philippines (there are books about our passion for the game), everybody is eager to see who will step up and be the next stars. Personally, I’m partial to some twins from Ateneo, but whatever…

As you might expect from a country that loves hoops, the Philippines also loves their sneakers. It might not be the same frenzy as it here in the US, but there is a vibrant and thriving sneaker culture in the Philippines that compares favorably to the rest of the world. Why else would Kobe Bryant swear by the motherland and Nike Basketball would released exclusives there first? So in honor of UAAP Season 79 and because I needed something for Fun With NIKEiD today, here are team-specific colorways of their current signature shoes the Nike KD 9, Nike Kyrie 2, Nike Kobe 11 Elite and Nike LeBron Soldier 10 (we didn’t use the LeBron 13 because honestly no one cares and the Zoom Soldier 10 has overshadowed it in every way) for all eight teams.

adidas Takes Shot At Nikes Athlete Slogan In New Ad

Walk into any Niketown around the world and you’ll most likely be greeted with a quote from Bill Bowerman. It reads: “If you have a body, you are an athlete”. Today, adidas launched “Sport Needs Creators”, which boldly states “if you call yourself an athlete, create something”. This video, which features the brand’s high profile athletes such as Aaron Rodgers, James Harden, Von Miller, and the newly signed Brandon Ingram, may be taking subtle shots at the old Nike saying. Check out the video ahead and judge for yourself.

Peep This Insane Nike Flyknit Racer Mambacurial Custom

There’s no doubt in my mind that the Mambacurial theme on Kobe sneakers is one of most highly coveted looks that the Kobe signature line has ever had to offer. Every time Nike releases a Kobe Mambacurial sneaker it does amazing!. The upcoming Nike Kobe 11 EM Mambacurial release should be no different. With that being said, have you ever wondered what the Mambacurial theme would look like on other sneakers, perhaps the Nike Flyknit Racer? Artist, Pirate Robot was thinking the same thing as he recently customized a pair of Oreo 2.0 Racers and converted them into what he likes to call the Nike Flyknit Racer Mambacurial.

The Mambacurial Racer starts off with a gradient upper that has the Flyknit construction begin with Pink Flash and effortlessly transition on to a Red Plum. Continuing the Mambacurial theme is the Action Green noted on the sole unit and even more noticeably, the Nike Swoosh on the toe. Yup, the toe! Pirate Robot managed to remove the Racer’s Nike Swoosh branding we’re used to seeing on the side panels and created brand new branding on the toe. In addition, he also painted on ?NIKE? branding in white on the medial sides of the shoe to complete the inspired look. Thoughts on this custom? The Nike Air Force 1 Low In Lucky Green Is Available

Nike Sportswear is all about vintage inspired looks right now as we transition from summer to autumn. The latest Nike Air Force 1 Low release utilizes a pre-aged Summit White leather base while what they’re calling “Lucky Green” should give you a bit more luck for this back to school season.

Previewed not too far back, this pair was joined by a “University Red” Quickstrike look (that appeared a bit more on the Infrared side of things to be honest). Both do Bruce Kilgore’s iconic creation justice through simple, vibrant accents while an OG ‘Nike Air’ branding lands on the leather heel. While this white and green combination might immediately draw memories to the adidas Stan Smith’s signature aesthetic, a bold Swoosh branding in a matching Lucky Green adds a bit more vibrancy throughout. What do you think of the look? Grab your size today from select shops like Oneness for $120 USD.

Now that I see this shoe on-feet it looks much better than before. However, I prefer the beige/navy colorway that we previewed yesterday. I’m not a big fan of orange.

I’m only a fan of one colorway of the Air Force 180, the Olympic pair. These don’t do much for me so I’ll pass.

A Patriotic Nike SB Zoom All Court CK

NIKE SB ZOOM ALL COURT CK 1 NIKE SB ZOOM ALL COURT CK 2 NIKE SB ZOOM ALL COURT CK 3 NIKE SB ZOOM ALL COURT CK 4 NIKE SB ZOOM ALL COURT CK 5

The latest colorway of the Nike SB Zoom All Court CK appears to have taken the patriotic route as the sneaker gets covered in a color scheme that would have been ideal to wear throughout this year’s Olympic games.

Looking at this Nike SB Zoom All Court CK we see that it features a Midnight Navy canvas upper with Summit White accents on the inner liner, Nike branding, toe, laces, and the rubber midsole. Pops of University Red can also be seen on the tongue tag and heel tab to add to the unofficial USA theme. Last but not least we have a gum outsole wrapping things up.

You can get your hands on this colorway of the Nike SB Zoom All Court CK at select SB shops now for a retail price of $85.

via: Premier

Author’s Take

I’m not a fan of this silhouette. The rubber portion on the toe looks like it’s out of place and on top of that there’s not too many Nike SB shoes that I like very much.

Expect Two New Colorways Of The NikeLab Air Force 1 Mid

NikeLab‘s premium monochromatic renditions of Bruce Kilgore’s iconic Nike Air Force 1 have been a welcomed addition to the Summer 2016 release slate. Just this past August we received two new colorways in Game Royal and Deep Garnett that proved to showcase how versatile any color can be when paired with the combination of a remastered leather and a White/Icy bottom. Now the NikeLab Air Force 1 Mid is next up with similar shades in tow for a release right around the corner.

Not only does NikeLab’s Air Force 1 Mid feature a matching leather lining to coincide with the tumbled leather throughout the upper, but embossed Swoosh branding hits the insole to further the luxurious hidden details throughout. The Air Force 1 also sports an icy bottom with retro Nike branding in NSW’s signature red color underneath for a nice addition. Which colorway is your favorite? Expect both pairs to arrive at NikeLab retailers in the near future.

The Air Jordan 31 Fine Print Recalls MJs First Nike Contract

Jordan Brand’s celebration of their latest signature silhouette, the Air Jordan 31, is also a celebration of Michael Jordan’s first model. Not only did they start things off with a bang thanks to a “Banned” inspiration based on the iconic Air Jordan 1 colorway, but this September 17th, a brand new pair will be releasing that celebrates what started MJ’s legendary partnership with Nike in the fist place – a contractual obligation. While that might not seem like the most ideal inspiration behind a new colorway, Jordan Brand takes a luxurious approach to the first contract Mike ever signed with Nike, as the Air Jordan 31 Fine Print features premium black leather, a woven Flyweave upper that dons both a gradient Nike Swoosh and white Jumpman branding, and an icy outsole featuring Michael Jordan’s iconic signature.

The first contract Michael Jordan ever signed with Nike went into effect on October 24th, 1984 before he even donned a Chicago Bulls jersey in a regular season game. The simple, understated black and white upper is inspired by the stark paper and print on the contract while the icy outsole bares MJ’s signature in all its oversized glory. A premium leather finish finds its way onto the heel construction in honor of the Air Jordan 1 while the medial side sports embossed Wings branding to bring things back to 1985. What do you think of this upcoming Air Jordan XXX1 colorway? Check out more photos of the Jordan 31 Fine Print after the break and stay tuned for more right here on Sneaker News.

To follow-up on a sneak peek, new images of this exclusive Nike Flyknit Racer that celebrates the forthcoming 2020 Summer Games is featured.

Still four years away, the hype for the global sporting event that will take place in Tokyo, Japan, has already started. This special edition pair flaunts a unique upper that has been hand-dyed with Japanese indigo — a fabric treatment that dates back centuries in the country. To further symbolize its one-of-a-kind design, the model incorporates the Japanese writing system, Katakana, with the tongue bearing the word, ?Nike.?

Simply intended to honor the craftsmanship of Japanese products, this pair is only limited to 100 pairs and unfortunately, will not be offered to the public.
