Two People In Minnesota Shot This Weekend Over Air Jordan Release

This past weekend we saw lots of Air Jordan releases which were highlighted by a white and pink women’s colorway of the Air Jordan 12 that for some reason many men were going crazy over and a brand new white and black colorway of the Air Jordan 2 inspired by an ad from the 80’s.

Just when we thought that all of the senseless sneaker violence was over since Jordan Brand has been making more than enough retros for everyone, another incident occurred this past weekend. Reported by CBS Minnesota two men were shot on Saturday morning when police received a phone call at around 10:00am of gun shots being fired off near a Foot Locker parking lot. Police marked more than a dozen casings on the ground following the shooting which resulted in two people being injured. Thankfully the two victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

CBS reports that the lineup at the Foot Locker was for either the Air Jordan 2 Wing It or the Air Jordan 12 GS Vivid Pink which caused chaos in different parts of the country.

Police do not currently have anyone in custody but have several witnesses they are interviewing to piece this together.

Author’s Take

Great idea by Warner Bros. and Jordan Brand to release apparel to accompany the shoes. If I do end up buying the shoes I might pick up a Tune Squad jersey or Space Jam hat. Bringing the 90’s back in style!

Air Jordan 2 Low Marquette PE

Marquette has been a Jordan Brand school for quite some time, but it’s rare to see the Big East school benefit from player exclusives in the same way that other Jumpman sponsored programs do. It looks like that’s all slated to change as the Golden Eagles head into the ‘Big Dance’ with their very own Air Jordan 2 Low PE. One of the rarer retros in the Jumpman archives, The AJ 2 Low returns with a smooth leather upper drenched in Midnight Navy while Varsity Maize and University Blue accents lend a helping hand. Marquette’s ‘MU’ lettering hits the tongue and icy outsole so there’s no doubting who this pair was made for. Check out more of this Jordan 2 Low exclusive below and we’ll keep you updated on more March Madness sneaker related news right here on Sneaker News.

Expect More Air Jordan 6 Retro Releases In 2016

You can expect more of the Air Jordan 6 in 2016. Today we get a preview of two upcoming colorways that stray as far as possible from OG territory, as unique color blockings and vibrant accents are your’s for the taking. The first pair utilizes a tonal Black and Grey leather and suede combination. The overall effect is reminiscent of the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux”‘s base but accompanied by an icy blue outsole. Then there’s the outlier of a white leather upper featuring a semi-translucent Volt bottom. This vibrant aesthetic is something you’d find in a Space Jam related category for how bold the 90s era colors are, from the lime green to Bright Crimson speckling throughout. There’s no word yet in regards to the size run of each pair, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see these designated as GS exclusives. Which Jordan 6 colorway are you a fan of? Check out a full look below and we’ll keep you updated on the latest Jordan release dates right here on Sneaker News.

A New Air Jordan 6 GS GG Colorway Has Been Unveiled

Not only are the little footers set to receive this new colorway of the Air Jordan 6, they’re also set to get this other brand new iteration of the model. An image recently leaked of what is being called an Air Jordan 6 GS GG model. In other words, it’s an Air Jordan 6 for girls who wear grade school sizes.

The minute I saw this model it immediately reminded of the Air Jordan 5 Pro Stars. The shoe comes in a plain white upper contrasted by the bold hits made up of Volt and Fuchsia found on the sole, branding and tongue of the shoe. The rest of the shoe remains pretty subtle and the star of the shoe is definitely the sole. No release info has been provided but we will be sure to let you know as soon as that info is leaked.

I’m okay with this being a GS exclusive. The neon colors and Jordans combination is not really something I’m into.

Author’s Take

I would have preferred to see Jordan Brand release more Air Jordan 5 Lows in colorways we’re used to seeing on the midtop options. I think they would have sold better as well as  look better.

A Better Look At The Air Jordan 6 GS GG Cool Grey

Air Jordan 6 GS 1 Air Jordan 6 GS 2

Remember that black and grey Air Jordan 6 GS that we showed earlier this week? Today we get another look at the shoe and it looks even better than the first image.

Said to only come in GS (Grade School) sizing and made exclusively for girls, this is definitely and Air Jordan 6 colorway that many guys wish came in adult sizing. The shoe is constructed out of a grey nubuck construction accompanied by the black tumbled leather placed on the overlays and ankle collar/heel area of the shoe. White accents are seen on the branding as well as on the midsole of the shoe. The shoe is completed by the icy translucent outsole seen below. Although the shoe is fairly subtle, the colors used give it that classic look. Said to be dropping May 21st for $140, what little footers are looking to pick up a pair?

Author’s Take

I love the color blocking used on the shoe. Reminds me of the Olympic and Carmine versions. Really wish these released in men’s sizing.

Sneak Peak Of The Air Jordan 5 Low Neymar

Air Jordan 5 Low Neymar 1 Air Jordan 5 Low Neymar 2

Any Neymar fans out there? If you said yes, I highly suggest you continue reading. We recently came across a leaked image showing a sneaker that is said to be named the Air Jordan 5 Low Neymar.

Paying homage to the 24-year old soccer sensation, Jordan Brand decided to design an Air Jordan 5 Low after one of the best in the game. This Air Jordan 5 Low manages to differentiate itself from all the other versions we’ve seen this year since its upper comes covered in a full 3M Cement print motif. That means when flash hits it, the entire shoe will light up! Joining the 3M upper are the black and crimson hits placed throughout the shoe. The image also shows personalized Neymar branding as a name tag appears inside the tongue and his jersey number is placed on one of the shoes ankle where the 23 is usually found. What are your thoughts? Is this the best Air Jordan 5 Low we’ve seen all year? Stay tuned to get more information regarding this potential release.

Author’s Take

The 3M Cement upper is definitely the star of the shoe. Although I’m not a soccer fan, I do know who Neymar is so it’s cool to see a player from another sport gets recognized by Jordan Brand. The personalized hits are also really cool. Can’t wait to see the rest of the shoe.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Metallic Navy Is Making A Comeback!

AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH OG 1 AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH OG 2

Jordan Brand will continue to release Air Jordan 1 High models in OG fashion. Last year saw the return of classics such as the Air Jordan 1 High Chicago and UNC. We also got a gem in the form of the Air Jordan 1 High Shattered Backboard. Jordan Brand will continue the trend by also giving the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Metallic Navy the retro treatment.

Considered to be an OG colorway being that it released in 1985, many people will be happy to see this shoe get the retro treatment. The color blocking of the shoe is fairly simple as the shoe comes in an all-white upper contrasted by the Metallic Navy hits palced on the OG Nike branding, collar, lining, outsole and Nike Swoosh. A set of white laces and a white midsole complete the minimalist look. Said to be dropping on June 4th for $160, how many of you see this release as a “must-cop”.

Author’s Take

I’m a big fan of navy blue on sneakers. I’m definitely looking forward to picking up this colorway once it drop in a couple of months.

First Look At Neymars Air Jordan 5 Low

Global soccer star Neymar just so happens to be a big fan of Michael Jordan. In fact, his fandom is being reciprocated by the brand by way of an Air Jordan 5 Low designed by Neymar himself. You might’ve heard the rumors earlier this year, but today we get a first look at the Neymar x Air Jordan 5 Low; it features a full speckled upper with a black midsole and hits of bright crimson on the inner lining, but what makes these truly specific to the FC Barcelona star is that his number 10 is stitched on the left shoe in place of MJ’s 23, and a label of his name is featured on the inner side of the tongue. Grab a first look at the details here and stay tuned for release info.

The Saint Laurent SL/10 Is Once Again Inspired By The Air Jordan 1

SAINT LAURENTS 1 SAINT LAURENTS 2 SAINT LAURENTS 3 SAINT LAURENTS 4 SAINT LAURENTS 5 SAINT LAURENTS 6 SAINT LAURENTS 7 SAINT LAURENTS 8 SAINT LAURENTS 9

This isn’t the first time that Saint Laurent sneakers have grabbed inspiration from the Air Jordan 1. In the past the Saint Laurent SL/10 high top came in the same color scheme as the Air Jordan 1 in the Bred and Royal colorway. Saint Laurent once again seems to follow suit as their low top offering rocks the same look.

Coming in Bred and Royal colorways, the Saint Lauren SL/10 low top comes in a black and red or black and red premium leather upper. The same color blocking used on the Air Jordan 1 model is used on these pairs. Rounding out the look of both pairs are the black laces and white midsole. Completing the look is the Saint Laurent branding placed on the tongue of the shoe. Like what you see? A cool $595 gets you either of these pairs.

Author’s Take

It all depends on your preference, but personally I don’t want to buy a high fashion sneaker that looks like a Air Jordan sneaker. I want it to have its own look.
