Kori Carter isn’t the only US track & field star wearing Jordan Brand track spikes. High Jump specialist Erik Kynard was also reppin’ for the Jumpman in the Olympic qualifiers.

In the images above Kynard can be seen at the USATF Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon yesterday as he was competing to earn a spot to go to Rio. Just like Carter, he’s also wearing an exclusive Jordan Brand track spike that comes dressed in black and white with elephant print. Kynard ended up qualifying for Rio with a jump of 7’6″.

I guess wearing Jordan Brand actually helped Kynard jump higher.

Earlier this year we saw Jordan Brand create the Air Jordan Kobe Pack which features the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 8 in Laker colorways. While we thought that there might have been a possibility that they would release to the masses its now very unlikely as more and more time passes by.

Serving as somewhat of a consolation prize is the Air Jordan 9 that you see above which is expected to release later this year. This Kobe Bryant PE colorway of the Air Jordan 9 features a white leather upper with purple patent leather on the mudguard and heel. Yellow accents have then been added on the branding on the tongue, midsole, and heel. The only difference between this pair and the one that Kobe wore back in 2002 is that this pair has Michael Jordans “23” on the heel instead of Kobe’s number 8.

Even thought I don’t like Kobe, I would have maybe considered buying this sneaker if it were a different silhouette. I’m not a fan of the Air Jordan 9 so these are a pass for me.

Joining the Air Jordan 2, Nike Kobe 11, and Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit Low, we have now found out that the Jordan Reveal will also be part of this year’s Quai 54 Collection.

The Quai 54 colorway of the Jordan Reveal features a black mesh upper with an iridescent snakeskin placed on the heel along with the Quai 54 “Q” logo placed right above it. A gradient black/white midsole and white outsole complete the look on this limited edition Jordan Reveal that will is currently scheduled to release on July 16. The Air Jordan 9 Kobe Bryant PE is one of the latest Jordan models that pay their respects to the recently retired Black Mamba. The Jordan is dressed in the Los Angeles Lakers team colors. The shoe starts off with a White leather upper. Additional White can be seen on the laces, lining outsole and part of the midsole. Adding a bold motif and some contrast to the White sneaker are the Concord patent leather overlays and the Tour Yellow used to take care of the branding hits. The Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh made its debut back in May of 2016. It did so by releasing 3 tonal colorways of brand new model. We’re now in July and an all-White version is getting ready to release.

The Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh White is done in a all-White color scheme (sole unit included). The upper is constructed out of a tumbled leather. The new textured leather and the removal of the Nike Swoosh we’re used to seeing on the side panels end up giving the model more of a premium/lifestyle/luxurious look to it. Add in the tonal waxed laces and you’ve got yourself a very versatile looking shoe. The beloved Nike Air is still placed on the tongue, while the Wings logo is noted on the heel.

Juan Carrillo, News: I’ve been on the fence about this model since the moment I saw it. I was close to picking up the Green colorway, but decided to pass up on them. It’s a nice change on the model. I may just end up picking up a pair later on this year, I doubt it will be in the high maintenance all-White colorway though.

The Air Jordan 16 originally released more than 15 years ago (March 2001). This November, the shoe makes its return coming in the OG Midnight Navy colorway. The last time we saw any kind of version of the shoe was back in 2008 when the Black Air Jordan 16 released as a part of the CDP where it got paired up with the Air Jordan 7. Fun fact about the shoe, it was also the first Air Jordan since the Air Jordan 3 that was not designed by Tinker Hatfield.

This colorway is said to be a nod back to Jordan’s playing days with his second NBA team, the Washington Wizards. The shoe comes dressed in a White tumbled leather upper accented by the Midnight Navy patent leather toe which also includes a Navy mesh underlay resting on top of a translucent outsole. One of the most recognizable features on the shoe is the removable shroud that helps give the shoe two different looks. The Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy is expected to return on November 5, 2016 for a retail price of $250.

Juan Carrillo, News: The Air Jordan 16 is not a model I’d say I like or dislike. It’s just a “meh” Jordan sneaker. The fact that Jordan Brand is bringing it back and pricing it at $250 make me want the shoe even less. The colorway is clean, but I’m not sold on picking up a pair only because I’m not in love with it.

This November, the Air Jordan 9 “Kobe” is slated for a release at retail. It is the first-ever Air Jordan Retro in Lakers colors that references Kobe Bryant’s Player Exclusives during the famed “sneaker free agency” in the early part of the 2000s, and although the purple patent leather and gold detailing is supremely attractive, Jordan Brand could’ve made these even better had they kept one detail truly “OG”. The upcoming Air Jordan 9 “Kobe” features MJ’s 23 embroidered on the heel instead of number 8 that is seen in Kobe’s version.
